What more can we say? Michael Bay has decided to make the turtles an alien race in the new live-action film and the fans reacted extremely negative. But, will the fans still be so negative when the creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Kevin Eastman, tells you what Michael Bay is doing with the property is "AWESOME"?

Kevin Eastman - "Hey Guys, Sorry to have been away for so long--completely swamped with work--but it is some pretty exciting stuff. I had been invited to check out the TMNT film development by my friend Scott Mednick over the years, and a while back had a full look behind the curtian at what writers Appelbaum and Nemec, director Liebesman, and producer Bay are doing--and trust me--it IS AWESOME. I'm officially on board, and will share more as I'm allowed... thanks all!"

Thanks to M. Christopher Roth for the heads up.

I dont understand the unnecessary change, but both original creators are on board so I think its worth giving a chance. If it sucks it sucks, but it may very well prove to be an improvement.

TheDARKestKNIGHT - 3/22/2012, 11:26 AM
SELL OUT!!!!
bls91183 - 3/22/2012, 11:27 AM
just wait til the movie comes out to pass judgement. first class was supposed to suck ass too and it was fantastic... just cross your fingers and pray the alien part was only referring to the ooze =/
Dedpool - 3/22/2012, 11:28 AM
I love how fanboys are telling the creator he's wrong for liking it. The property is over 20 years old now. Some changes are due! If Eastman is in, give it a chance. He's definitely not selling out. He's got money. I mean 30 years worth of Turtles money! He's been involved with every iteration since the 80's. If he's okaying it, I'll wait and see it.
imnotwearinghockeypants - 3/22/2012, 11:30 AM
Bay will probably just replace the robots from the first Transformers movie with turtles and Shia Lebeouf with a large rat. Then, he'll go take a dump, with equal effort.
OdinsBeard - 3/22/2012, 11:30 AM
he obviously knows something we dont...

at least i hope...
Julesimanerd - 3/22/2012, 11:31 AM
I can't trust it....can't trust the "alien" thing. I prefer what PL said, he said just give it a chance, it could be terrible, but at least give it a chance
Codeseven - 3/22/2012, 11:31 AM
You people are pathetic. You heard ONE detail about the film. Grow up and chill out. Wait for a trailer, poster, or the movie before you start complaining and name calling.
DCwanabe - 3/22/2012, 11:32 AM
LOL They took a hilarious idea of genetically altered turtles in the throws of puberty and added the fact that they are extraterrestrials to the mix. How can you not snicker?
MrSuperheromoviefan - 3/22/2012, 11:32 AM
@bls91183 - first class had a great director. tmnt, wait i mean tant, have bay

Well it's not like Stan lee ever dissed any of his projects so this is expected.
Tevii - 3/22/2012, 11:40 AM
@overtappeal - I see "unneccesary" as more of a neutral comment. Its not necessarily for or against. I think the change is completely unnecessary as well. but that does not mean it wont end up being an improvement.

I'm telling you guys, Keanu Reeves is in on this. They can't make the movie without him!

The last four Alien turtles of their species have fled to Earth because their home planet was destroyed by Krang the Konquerer. Arriving to Earth, they know full well they are no match for Krang's forces which are soon to come destroy the Earth on their trail... unless... unless they learn KUNG FU!!! So quickly they research Earth's "historical records" (Movies) and head straight for Keanu Reeves' crib. Unfortunately, all they found was his pet rat. But their logic dictates that the rat has absorbed Keanu's Kung Fu through photographic memory. They then proceed to circle the rat's cage and squirt their male turtle ooze all over the rat, mutating him into their new found master. Together they fled into the sewers to build their HQ under the concrete rug of the humans. But little did they know, Keanu would come back and find his rat's empty cage covered in radioactive alien turtle ooze. He took no chances and started to lick every drop of it to then mutate into... THE SUPER SHREDDER!!!!!

@Nomis- Wow. 'Nuff said.
Natetrix79 - 3/22/2012, 11:46 AM
Mr. Bay put alot of thought into this, think about it The Ninja Turtles kick ass with chop sockie Action (a.k.a. Nothing Blows Up!) make them "Aliens" & spaceships crash, laser blasters are used, for some reason a building blows up, April O'Neil becomes a hot chic with giant lips, it really is genius.
MovieMaster - 3/22/2012, 11:46 AM
@Shaman- The sad thing is, I think you just guessed the plot.
headlopper - 3/22/2012, 11:49 AM
The only damn alien animal I wanna see in a feature is...

Shaman - 3/22/2012, 11:50 AM
MovieMaster- I dunno, i think Keanu Reeves is pretty frickin' more sad right there. He lost his rat!
headlopper - 3/22/2012, 11:50 AM

Ceejay - 3/22/2012, 11:54 AM
All this debate over a stupid childish concept of PET TURTLES turning into mutants that eat Pizza?

Seriously, some people need a whole lot of growing up to do and a lot of going out to do a lot more of! Scary people worried about shit this insignificant are allowed to vote!
MovieMaster - 3/22/2012, 11:55 AM
You guys gotta remember, Jonathan Liebesman is directing this, NOT Bay. He's only producing. In case you're wondering who he is, he directed Battle: LA and the upcoming Wrath Of The Titans.
CPBuff22 - 3/22/2012, 11:59 AM
@MovieMaster two movies that hold no interest. In fact I may have fallen asleep during Battle:LA
Fogs - 3/22/2012, 12:02 PM
@MovieMaster - he's involved, this single fact isn't very promising.

But of course I'm bashing just for the kicks now.
jazzman - 3/22/2012, 12:03 PM
@MovieMaster

how does that help Battle: LA was a weak movie and it had negative reviews. i wont be surprise Wrath Of The Titans fail also.
GreyChaos13Zero - 3/22/2012, 12:04 PM
trailer please, to soon?)
nailbiter111 - 3/22/2012, 12:04 PM
battle la sucked
AlexDeLarge87 - 3/22/2012, 12:05 PM
Depressing... but i guess we cant do nothing else than just wait and see.
Shaman - 3/22/2012, 12:08 PM
MovieMaster- True, however that just tells me the turltes will be lame... but they're gonna look cool doing it!
CapFan79 - 3/22/2012, 12:08 PM
Man, you guys are being lame. How is he a sell out. Don't you think the first $1 he made selling a comic made him a sell out? What about Turles 3 - TURLES IN TIME. Sheesh, you guys have no clue what they're really doing.
TheRationalOne - 3/22/2012, 12:16 PM
You're not a sell out for being tolerant of other peoples ideas and vision. At some point in the turtles universe, someone said "What if we also had a samurai rabbit?". It suggests the same things as you guys are bashing this idea for. More mutant animals. The creators gave it a go ahead. So shut up. Your point becomes invalid if the person who thought the whole thing up in the first place tells you they're in to it.
GreyChaos13Zero - 3/22/2012, 12:17 PM
@nailbiter111
it wasn't that bad tho it had it's moments?)
Remixxx - 3/22/2012, 12:17 PM
U know I don't think I'll ever understand people when it comes to shows they grew up with and thinking that they should have a say into what is being made. Everyone is so judgemental of something that yes is over 20 yrs old and needs to be revitalized in order to be remotely interesting.

He makes one comment about them being from an alien race and the people who still think wearing their TMNT t-shrits from the 80s is cool get in an uproar. I'll reserve my judgement after I see a trailer or some concept ideas or even a synopsis to determine if it's worth seeing. Everyone even wants to call the creators sell outs cause they actually may even like the idea and willing to give it a chance. To me the sellouts are the ones who want to condemn something they haven't seen and not give it a chance. If are a diehard TMNT fan then you will be that way no matter what.

Personally I think he is going to make the mutagen from an alien race that somehow ends up on Earth.
headlopper - 3/22/2012, 12:20 PM
@Shaman- Marvel gives me that, I'm there!
