The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.


The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field, the films swings into theaters July 3, 2012 in 3D!

I hope the Lizard spins Spinderman on his finger and Sweet Georiga Brown kicks on.

And man, I STILL can't get excited for this movie. I don't get it. I've watched Batman's origin twice and didn't have a problem being interested but Spiderman? I keep reading the articles and seeing trailers and images hoping something kicks on and nothing.

Now if I find out Lizard dribbles Spiderman and dunks him, I think I might get interested for the wrong reasons. But wrong reasons is better than no reasons so that would still be good. I just don't get it.

This and every future Sony/Spider-Man movie needs to flop and hard. Spider-Man needs to be back with his Marvel family.

Costume is grabage. Crome sneakers? Yellow eyes? Give me a [frick]ing break.

I thought the first movies were fine but not great. This movie actually looks like it has character. I like how the suit looks. Just hope the plot and dialogue are not straight from a Sat. morning cartoon and we are in business.

I'm liking this movie, but I'm kind of getting sick of the promo for it.It sold me like four months ago. Now can you stop annoying me about it. I thought the last trailer already gave me more than I wanted. I feel like if I see one more thing, there'll be nothing left to be spoiled.

Just come out already. The over promotion is killing the hype for me.

Why is everyone fixating on the suit so much? Cap's suit in The First Avenger was god-awful and no one complained... at least not this much. The movie is going to be good, no matter what the suit looks like.

I remember thinking the basketball thing when I first saw the suit. But unlike people who thinks that's stupid, I thought it was smart. I was like, "Yeah, basketball like rubber would provide a lot more protection than super thin spandex."

Hardly any superhero nowadays wears spandex. Daredevil's got leather. Batman's got armor weaving stuff, Captain America's got an overly modified army uniform, Green Lantern's got CGI shit, X-Men's got leather jumpsuit things, Superman's even sporting a new material...

The "spalding" thing makes the most sense in this new "realistic" spider-man world where peter made his own costume for a reason. It more than just makes him look cool, it provides some kind of protection...

UNLIKE Raimi's costume that tore easier than edible panties made out of fruit by the foot... what?

Seriously that was the one thing that made me more pissed than anything about ALL of Raimi's film was the cheap ass suit that looked awesome but got torn up in every GD fight there was in the movies. And in every movie that damn mask came off in the finale, exposing Tobey's totally non-badass face.

The same thing used to vex me, if Raimi wanted to show Maguires face he should've done what the old comics did, that half Spiderman half Peter Parker's face.

Now that I think of it, that was for his spider sense so forget it.

THIS WILL BE AN AWESOME MOVIE. YOU KNOW WHATS FUNNY THOUGH? WHEN SPIDERMAN THREE CAME OUT I WENT ON OPENING DAY AND A GROUP OF ASIANS HAD WHITE SHIRTS THEY WROTE ON THEM AWESOME, AMAZING, SPECTACULAR..HAH AND WHEN IT WAS DONE WALKING OUT AFTER THEIR FACES WERE SO BLANK..HAHAHA

Nice pic but can't get over the suit. Actually the visuals of this movie are not good imo, from peter himself, lizard, suit... The nice lookin part is gwen :)

@spiderfan from the looks of it, it seems that the general audience is more on board with this than this site IDK why but I guess since the general audience doesnt read comics they will find more joy in the films.

If you consider First Class a win because it was generally accepted as ok by the masses while being generally panned by actual comic book and x-men fans then that's good for you I guess...and why of next year not this year?

Anyway, back to your first comment, that is a pretty bold statement dude. A COMIC BOOK movie that fails to deliver on the treasured traits of the source material so epicly that only NON-COMIC BOOK fans will really enjoy it? That is truly frightening and confusing. I know you are apparently trying to champion this movie here on the site and good for you for trying but you are making it worse, just let the movie speak for itself.

frpm, a design standpoint the suit still looks like utter shit


but this promo makes it look almost bearable
