"It's made of something that is designed to make you irritated. I don't know what that material name is, but that's the description underneath."

He's the next young star to step into the skintight suit, and Andrew Garfield was here to tell Ellen exactly how uncomfortable (and revealing) it really is. Plus, Ellen had a special gift to help Andrew go incognito in public. Check it out!

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field, the films swings into theaters July 3, 2012 in 3D!

ColonoscopyKid - 4/3/2012, 4:09 AM
Tobey was short and had the personality of a wet mop.
JillValenfield - 4/3/2012, 5:03 AM
He really is adorable and I like his accent :)

I never thought that spidey could be that good looking (no offence, but Tobey was not that hot as spidey, compared to this guy)
CPBuff22 - 4/3/2012, 5:22 AM
@ColonoscopyKid you just offended wet mops everywhere.
SuperSomething616 - 4/3/2012, 5:31 AM

I agree about Tobey. He just didn't scream Spidey to me. He wasnt witty and just seemed creepy. Spideys a charismatic smart a$$. This guy can pull it off.

thewolfx - 4/3/2012, 8:28 AM
andrew forgot to say it was unconfortable because nobody recognized him for spiderman and kept calling him spalding man

also tobeys muscle padding had nothign to do with his confortability in his suit it had the same problems only difference is

it didnt look like shit
MadTitan - 4/3/2012, 8:53 AM

Spanglish: "The costume designers lied to Garfield about the material,it's actually made from all of Tobey Maguires used condoms." --- lol

i've got nothing against Garf, but as PatientZero suggested I will surely, definitely, most willingly not watch it on theater. I don't hate it though, it's just not my cup of tea.
Spideyshawn - 4/3/2012, 9:40 AM
Lol xmen firstclass situation all over again. We get it no marvelstudios stamp or connection to the precious cinematic universe it gets looked at as an evil stepson.
SuspenseSmith - 4/3/2012, 12:06 PM
@Spideyshawn

Yep... TASM will be the "X-Men Fist Ass" of 2012... everyone will love it afterwards and forget they were calling it dogshit a week before release.
pintoman - 4/3/2012, 12:19 PM
I'm uncomfortable watching that crapy suit.

However...I will give them A+ for:
Webshooters
Spidey attitude
Gwen (amazing...looks just like the comics)
Serda - 4/3/2012, 12:56 PM
This clip makes Parker seem more like a cocky ass and degrades my hopes for this movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxQMMK1_Ww4&feature=g-logo&context=G200ec0fFOAAAAAAAIAA
TrueRedBlue - 4/3/2012, 3:23 PM
Hahaha. Man, I love Andrew. Can't wait for this movie!
TrueRedBlue - 4/3/2012, 3:26 PM
By the way, it looks like women tend to like the suit. Hahaha
webslinger2099 - 4/3/2012, 4:36 PM
funny
webslinger2099 - 4/3/2012, 4:39 PM
well remember folks he has 2 be skinny. because in the comics he was skinny. unlike tobey m. he was a bit chuncky so they made him work out
MadTitan - 4/4/2012, 2:15 AM
webslinger2099 -- i think it's more like "thin"

and adding a few pounds could very well look better than that poor looking hero looks he had.

i admire Garf for being candid about how that costume felt like to him wearing it but it does kinda confirmed that it does not only look awful but it even felt awful.
SpiderFan35 - 4/4/2012, 9:56 PM
"It's made of something that is designed to make you irritated. I don't know what that material name is, but that's the description underneath."

Sounds like Garfield's DNA to me! lol

Seriously though, it's a rubber suit so I bet it's uncomfortable. Another reason it's a bad design, if a real life actor hates it than why would Peter Parker make it this way???
