Dark Shadows News is reporting:
The US rating for Dark Shadows has also been confirmed this week, with the film receiving the anticipated PG-13 certificate for "comic horror violence, sexual content, some drug use, language and smoking."
Anthony Breznican is a writer for Entertainment Weekly and he has recently seen the final cut of the film.
I've seen final cut of Dark Shadows. Tone similar to Burton and Depp's Sleepy Hollow - lots of humor, but with menacing, atmospheric edge. In Dark Shadows, there's an absurdist bent to the monster element. The creatures of the night are adrift in the self-obsessed world of 1970s. In typical Burton fashion, humans are scarier than the fiends. If u want Interview w the Vampire, that movie exists. This is a more wry take.
He reminded his Twitter followers that Sleepy Hollow had a "LOT" of humor, but I strongly disagree with that assessment. Sleepy Hollow wasn't a rip-roaring laughfest last time I checked.
Dark Shadows also stars Helena Bonham-Carter, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green, Chloe Moretz and Jackie Earle Haley. The film will be in theaters May 11th, 2012.
