Click the jump to read a very detailed description of the footage and the dialogue that was included in the first teaser trailer for Sam Mendes' 007 film, Skyfall. Updated: The next Bond film is confirmed for 2014 and I also included a new Skyfall image of Daniel Craig.

Cinema Blend was in attendance for Sony's presentation of the first teaser trailer for Sam Mendes' Skyfall. They have written an extremely thorough description of what they have seen, and what they have heard. And from what I've read of the material below, this movie IS going to be much darker than what most fans had suspected.

The trailer begins with a shot of Bond (Daniel Craig) from behind looking at the city of London. Then we hear someone in a voice-over say the word “Country” and Bond saying, “England.” It seems he is playing some sort of word association game. We then hear the mystery voice say “Gun” and Bond replies “Shot” as we view a target at the end of a shooting range. We then see that 007 is in an interrogation room where he is being asked the questions and being watched by Ralph Fiennes and some other people through two-way mirrors. The man sitting in front of Bond says “Agent,” and the superspy replies “Provocateur.” As more images flash on the screen the word association game continues: “Murder” “Employment.” The music then drops out as we flash back to the interrogation room and the man running the test says. “Skyfall.” After a pause, Bond says, “Done,” and stands up from the table. Another huge montage begins and we see shots of helicopters, giant fireballs causing a mysterious silhouette, shots of the Shanghai nightlife, Bond is standing over a long row of coffins draped with the flag of England, and a subway car crashing through a tunnel wall with incredible force. As the trailer comes to an end we hear Bond say, “Someone is coming to kill us. We’re going to kill them first.”

From beginning to end the trailer was impressive and had a very slick look to it that we don’t typically see from Mendes’ movies. While it all came in flashes, the movie looks like it is very action packed and tense. As excited as I was for Skyfall going into the presentation, I’m even more excited now.

According to ComingSoon, Sony's President of Worldwide Destribution, Rory Bruer, confirmed that James Bond's 24th film will be released in 2014.

Here is a BONUS set video for you Bond fans.

Skyfall, Craig's third outing as James Bond will be released on October 26, 2012. Daniel Craig will be joined by Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, as well as a Judi Dench as M.

PhetVanBurt0n - 4/25/2012, 8:32 PM

SmellofDuty - 4/25/2012, 8:38 PM
Sweet! Was this at Cinema-Con too? If so we need this and TDKR footage revealed now!
Knightrider - 4/25/2012, 8:43 PM
I swear MoS was only pushed back to 2013, as there is only so much awesomeness a year can handle and having Avengers, TDKR, TASM, Bond and MoS would have ripped hole in space and time.

Quantum of Solace and Iron Man 2 were disappointing sequels. Skyfall and Iron Man 3 are gonna make up for that, and more.
nailbiter111 - 4/25/2012, 8:44 PM
yes this was at cinemacon too

I hope the 24th Bond film they reboot it and go back to the classical fantasy futuristic gadgets type Bond film. This realistic, dark and gritty type bond is getting too old too fast for me anyways.
Alexandre - 4/25/2012, 9:24 PM
yes cant wait
Alexandre - 4/25/2012, 9:25 PM
why are people not liking the gritty take on all these new movies that are coming out?

did your balls shrink or something?
nailbiter111 - 4/25/2012, 9:37 PM
i like alexandre, i think Dev is part of the minority.
nailbiter111 - 4/25/2012, 9:39 PM
For me Daniel Craig is the best Bond. None of the others ever grabbed my attention quite like Daniel Craig. I hope he continues as Bond for a few more films at least.
Sanderman - 4/25/2012, 9:42 PM
wait so skyfall wont come out til 2014? or the sequel to that?
95 - 4/25/2012, 9:44 PM
@Sanderman

The sequel to Skyfall arrives in 2014. Skyfall is still set for Nov. 2012.
MercMatt - 4/25/2012, 9:49 PM
Daniel Craig got me interested in Bond, again. Hope he continues to take on the role for years to come. Bring on Skyfall!

Dev7...the stupid and silly gadgets got old fast. This is how Bond should be. I hated all the stupid ass gadgets!

This is how James Bond is supposed to be...a super agent. Yes, Sean Connery was great at it, but he was more of a mature, slick type of Bond. Roger Moore was more of the silly Bond. I really did like Timothy Dalton a lot. He gave Bond a more tough edge to the character. Where as Pierce Brosnan was just too damn pretty to play the role. To this day the whimpiest Bond yet. As for Daniel Craig...awesome! The best yet. He brings to the character rough, tough and hard as nails. Bond to me was the epitome of the all out super agent, the very first. We finally get to see what he's made of in these last 2, now 3, movies; with the martial arts, which a lot of real life agents are trained in, and he seems to be a lot smarter with technology as well, like hacking into computers. And he's more real, or the writers have made him more real. He fell in love, he had his balls tortured, and was willing to walk away from the life for a woman. To me, this is more of a realistic version of Bond than ever before. Plus, when he gets into a car accident he comes out looking like he's been in one, not with his hair still perfect and a small cut above his eye from the car rolling over 17 times. I'll take a blond, real to life Bond any day over a watered down, pretty Bond. Can't wait for Skyfall.
Seejay - 4/25/2012, 11:29 PM

Going darker suits this new more "realistic" Bond.
PeterDarker121 - 4/26/2012, 12:02 AM
@Alexandre lol
PeterDarker121 - 4/26/2012, 12:09 AM
Dear Cinema Claus,

One of your elves already let the cat out of the bag and told me that on your new date for Christmas (May 4th), there will be a brand new shiny TDKR TRAILER under the tree along with a slick new TASM TRAILER.

I've been a good boy this year. If there's any way you could see fit, I'd also like the SKYFALL TRAILER too, if it doesn't sound too greedy on my part.

PS I'll hook a brothah up with some more milk and cookies...(and by that, I mean I'll print out some of Teabag's pics)...lol
AUSSYACE - 4/26/2012, 12:10 AM
Its a Rental for me until we get a New Bond...

Henry Cavill as BOND...

AsianVersionOfET - 4/26/2012, 12:46 AM
Daniel Craig is the best Bond. Anyone who thinks otherwise is clearly stupid and probably a pedophile.
hartley07 - 4/26/2012, 3:41 AM
ugh...2014.
preacher - 4/26/2012, 5:28 AM
Does anyone know if Mendes is still slated to direct Preacher? That was the last I had heard, that he was going to tackle that as soon as Skyfall was completed.
AlexDeLarge87 - 4/26/2012, 6:14 AM
Cant wait!:)

Craig like Dalton is not your pretty boy Bond! He is here for business! And thats why i love him!
The older movies i love just for nostalgia!
AlexDeLarge87 - 4/26/2012, 6:14 AM
Hope he makes Bond movies as long as he can!:)
AlexDeLarge87 - 4/26/2012, 6:17 AM
justified1 - 4/26/2012, 6:38 AM
Nomis - couldn't agree more.

Dev7 - the gadgets bond is over. That bond was good for the 80's and 90's but now is time for the gritty, realistic bond.

Can't wait. Best Bond yet.
MassExecutions - 4/26/2012, 6:56 AM
Craig is not my favorite Bond, but that sounds like a trailer for a FANTASTIC Bond film!
ironknight - 4/26/2012, 7:11 AM
I like the current Bond, but I don't think it would hurt to introduce a little of the gadget elements. Don't go overboard, like with invisible cars and stuff, but give him some cool, realistic, stuff.
AlexDeLarge87 - 4/26/2012, 7:29 AM
ironknight@ I agree.

I actually think he is going to have some gadgets this time around cause Q is in the movie too.
I always loved the gadgets element and i think they were in their best in the first Connery films.
Then it started to go overboard and Bond movies turned too comedy-esque. Dalton bringed little bit the serious Bond back but Brosnan´s Bond after Goldeneye went overboard again.
AlexDeLarge87 - 4/26/2012, 7:31 AM
Die Another Day must be the worst Bond i´ve seen! Even Lazenby´s Bond might be better than that shit!
Gusto - 4/26/2012, 8:32 AM
I'd make a pretty good Bond.
I'm pretty [frick]in' cool.
theangrytroll - 4/26/2012, 12:51 PM
God these new Bond films are sooooo boring. Like an extremely poor ripoff of the far superior Bourne movies. Cannot WAIT for the inevitable reboot when the genuinely talented but horribly mis-cast Craig stops doing them.

And it's kind of funny how NOW people think Timothy Dalton was a great Bond, but in the mid-eighties everyone knew he was terrible in the role. And anyone who says they thought he was good when those movies came out is flat out lying.

I seriously cannot WAIT for this ridiculous, "dark, gritty realism," fad to die out so more movies can be FUN again.
nuclearpriest - 4/26/2012, 2:22 PM
I happen to have loved Timothy Dalton's portrayal of Bond back in the 80s and may I say that anyone who thinks they can speak for Bond fans around the world and how they felt about Timothy Dalton is himself an abject fool!
Alexandre - 4/26/2012, 3:24 PM
I've been a fan since golden eye, i was a kid when it came out and it just got me.

i have collected all 22 films and plan on owning this one when it comes out.

the thing with Dalton is that his first Bond film was amazing, his second one was pretty bad and made people think not much about him as bond. but to me, his first film really puts him on the map. he is underrated but then again the second film sucked, not his problem though, the blame goes to the writers and director.

i think the same thing about Brosnan. golden eye was [frick]ing unbelievable but his next three never imo topped golden eye. again not his fault.

Daniel Craig without a doubt has been the best actor to play Bond. the dude seriously has skills. he kills as an actor and you see it outside of Bond films as well.
I've never seen any of the others who have portrayed bond in other films be so good as Craig as been.

i hope Craig does one more and then i'm routing for Fassbender. that dude will take the role to an even higher level.

top five bond films imo are
5.)Casino Royale
4.)Goldfinger
3.)Golden Eye
2.)Live and let Die
1.)From Russia with Love
Phlegmbot - 4/26/2012, 3:27 PM
@theangrytroll - my best friend and I at the time of Dalton's Bond said the following: "He's exactly what the novels describe but not what we've seen in the movies for years. Audiences will hate it."

And they did...but Bond fans? All the one I know always liked him.

Certainly Dalton's FIRST turn as Bond - Living Daylights is a great flick (his follow-up, which nearly killed the franchise, was just like an overly-long episode of Miami Vice and was, thus, awful).

I agree the last Bond flick was Bourne-lite. And that Casino Royale's first 45 mins was Bourne-rip-off (but I enjoyed it more than the chases in the Bourne films). But this sounds like it's getting back into the correct realm. Perhaps a continuation of Smiert Shpionem...which, I think they referenced in one of the Craig Bond films. (Or am I misremembering?)

"I seriously cannot WAIT for this ridiculous, "dark, gritty realism," fad to die out so more movies can be FUN again."

Do you want us to bake cakes with rainbows and put smiles in them too? fun? smh

I stand by everything I said.

And @Alexandre - So going to a movie is now a test of manliness? That might just be the single most retarded comment I have ever read on here. Between the gay thing and the...

WAIT A MINUTE! THAT'S IT! THAT'S why you're over-compensating so much in your post!

Dude, it's okay to come out of the closet now. Seriously, things aren't like they were in your so-called "glory days."
Alexandre - 4/27/2012, 2:51 PM
learn reading comprehensive skills then I'll answer you back.

you clearly didn't understand any of that.

but it's ok

NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND
NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND
theangrytroll - 4/27/2012, 6:13 PM
You mean you want me to say something you CAN respond to, and then you'll answer back. Don't bother. I've said what I needed to say, and obviously it was beyond your grasp.

By the way, it's reading COMPREHENSION skills. You need to learn the correct words to convey what you're attempting to say. And while you're at it, learn punctuation and capitalization.

I gotta say though, the "no child left behind" thing was especially amusing in this context. You attempting to belittle my intelligence while yourself sounding like an uneducated buffoon? PRICELESS!

Good try, kiddo.
