"It’s got to be really funny and that first one was so darn funny, it’s hard for me… I think we’ll try again. I always drag my feet on it, but I think..."

I'd really like to thank David Letterman for cutting off Mr. Murray before he could finish his thought. Why in the world would I be interested in knowing more about Ghostbusters 3 from an actor that hardly ever opens up about the subject? I'd much rather listen to Letterman laugh at his own unfunny jokes or rely on his band leader's cackle as a boost to his fragile ego. No wonder Jimmy Kimmel is on the rise.

Let's get back to Ghostbusters. Some of you are not aware of it, but Bill Murray has part ownership of the franchise and no movie can be made without his say so. Doesn't matter if he is in it or not, he must give the go ahead. It's fair to say the last script isn't up to snuff, but Murray isn't closing the book on it just yet. He is willing to do it, but the script has to be as good as the original, which will be hard to equal.

Ghostbusters 3 would be AIDS.
ForceOfLegend - 6/10/2012, 6:44 PM
Just do it Bill! I want this to happen!
Fogs - 6/10/2012, 6:50 PM
Bill Murray can go [frick] himself. I don't care anymore. Seriously...
SoulReaver - 6/10/2012, 6:52 PM
I too, would want to see "Ghostbusters 3" is the script was good enough or, at the very least, as good as the video game.
masterhater - 6/10/2012, 6:52 PM
I love bill murray. It's disappointing that he is acting like such a jerk about a role we all love him in.
rottencotten - 6/10/2012, 6:53 PM
I hope this means he will have a bigger part than just some ghost...a little hope is better than a flat out no...and with the cgi we have today, I can only imagine what it would look like...
EastcoastAvenger - 6/10/2012, 6:54 PM
The original cast will all be ghosts themselves before this project gets underway.
InfiniteMonkey - 6/10/2012, 6:55 PM
He'll be at his deathbed regretting not doing it sooner. No one really cares anymore at any rate.
Greengo - 6/10/2012, 6:56 PM
Over it
GreyChaos13Zero - 6/10/2012, 6:57 PM
he should do it, he was great in Zombieland?)
MaximusRodd - 6/10/2012, 7:01 PM
Ah ha ha. I smell desperation. They want to resurrect that corpse?

And can Murray even find someone now who wants to work with him? By all accounts, he is a monster to be around.

The last thing he did was Charlie's Angels and was uninvited to participate in the sequel.
MaximusRodd - 6/10/2012, 7:06 PM
Oh, correction, he was in Zombieland, I guess. I never knew it because I never saw it and not one single person I know or article I read mentioned him.
MaximusRodd - 6/10/2012, 7:14 PM
@yossarian:

"do the 20 movies since charlies angels not count?"

Does a tree falling in a forest make a sound if no one is there to hear it?

What movies? Lost in Translation? (Which sums up that film.) More like cure for insomnia. Only the foreign press could appreciate that tedious pile. Please, thrill me with your knowledge of all that is Bill Murray. What other gems am I forgetting?

He should have stopped at Caddyshack.
nonserviam - 6/10/2012, 7:20 PM
Ghostbusters 3 has potential, but I only see it as a stepping stone to renew the franchise like they tried with Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull mess.
Phlegmbot - 6/10/2012, 7:24 PM
He said nothing -- certainly nothing new -- in his interview with Dave.

There's no glimmer of hope there.
RaleighAntrobus - 6/10/2012, 7:30 PM
I hope not.

There doesn't need to be a Ghostbusters 3.
MaximusRodd - 6/10/2012, 7:34 PM
yossarian, I respect your opinions fully. And, yes, I concede he has done more recent work than I facetiously stated, but I have my opinions, too. I just don't care too much for this particular actor and I was being sarcastic, not factual.

P.S. @TheManOfSteel1013 - I actually really like Groundhog Day.

@Yossarian Do you think being smarmy when responding to someone who has obviously tried to be the bigger person makes you sound clever?

I'm quite comfortable being me and disagreeing with your kind.
Jollem - 6/10/2012, 7:45 PM
Get Low was a good one.

Bill Murray's bowel movements have more talent than an internet kid.
nowtheresaBATman - 6/10/2012, 7:47 PM
there's early oscar buzz for his performance as F.D.R. in Hyde Park on Hudson.

Go Bill

Hey fudge off about Letterman. He's funnier than you.
bbarber2323 - 6/10/2012, 8:56 PM
@yossarian...this Maximus clown is obviously a moron. Don't waste ur time bro...
Gigacrusher45 - 6/10/2012, 8:59 PM
They are so desperate to make this movie it's sad.
GUNSMITH - 6/10/2012, 9:02 PM
REBOOT WITH A FRESH NEW CAST..WHAT IT WAS WAS BEST WHEN THEY WERE YOUNG, YOU NEED TO RETELL THE STORY WITH A NEW CAST RATHER THAN BRINGING BACK GRANDPAS..
MaximusRodd - 6/10/2012, 9:22 PM
@bbarber2323:

Obviously. God forbid someone doesn't care for Bill Murray. That makes them a moron. Thank you for setting things straight.

Funny how these "intelligent" people are the only ones calling people names. Classy.
Joe6Pack74 - 6/10/2012, 9:43 PM
Bill Murray has a mental problem and should be in an insane asylum. Think about what movies he did that were great. Ghost Busters, Caddy Shack, What about Bob and Groundhog Day. The rest were all crap. Someone should get a 50 yard running start and kick him in the nuts. FATAL BLOW.
Joe6Pack74 - 6/10/2012, 9:44 PM
Peanut butter sandwiches for everyone!
BetaRay28 - 6/10/2012, 9:55 PM
Not happening he's just jerking people's chains and it's sad they should have done it a long time ago now they are all past their prime and it would be like Grampa Ghostbusters and it would be sad
Dunejedi - 6/10/2012, 10:39 PM
Decades between sequels= shit show. See all other examples.
Jimdlux - 6/10/2012, 10:47 PM
Audience cheered when Ghostbuster 3 was mentioned. He knows people want to see it!
xfactor - 6/10/2012, 10:51 PM
I'll believe it when i see it. Stop playing with my emotions bill. No bueno.
MaximusRodd - 6/10/2012, 11:16 PM
Wow, the name @Pigvalley must be autobiographical.

Again, another low-brow calling someone names without putting forth one intelligent point to debate.

And it's ass, not arse, unless this is a cockney Mary Poppins forum.

What exactly is so stupid? I don't care for Bill Murray as an actor. I think calling someone names qualifies you as a ROYAL ass. I am beginning to suspect there are Murray shills afoot. I mean, come on, unless you're sleeping with the man or working for him why would you respond with such vitriol?
mob7medina - 6/11/2012, 12:27 AM
Letterman sucks and Murray has some great movies but "Ghostbusters 3?"I think a reboot with appearances by the Original actors would be better. And oh yeah What about Bob was a classic and I liked scrooge...
Vital - 6/11/2012, 1:01 AM
@Max, I'm with ya buddy. Don't worry about Yoss most of his comments I'd say a good 3 out 4 are usually pretty stupid or unfunny. Sometimes he even likes to leave little subtle trolling comments too. And I'm not using that word lightly like most people do lol.

Almost every movie Yoss listed sucked ass besides Life Aquatic and Groundhog's Day. The rest are pretty bad. As in, I wouldn't watch them more than once, and I LOVE movies. I've got 4TB of bluray movies to prove it lol.

If they are talking shit to YOU even after you were nice back, then you already won man. Idiots and douchebags lose by default. Just feel good knowing you're a better person than they are, and you proved it.
Vital - 6/11/2012, 1:01 AM
@nail, I like the little rant you had in the subject area, it was pretty damn funny actually lol.
Jollem - 6/11/2012, 1:13 AM
@maximusrodd -

"And can Murray even find someone now who wants to work with him?"

yes. many talented people.

"The last thing he did was Charlie's Angels and was uninvited to participate in the sequel."

he wanted to play bosley most likely because he was a fan of the character and actor. he got in, did it, then got out. hollywood fluff, explosions and cheap simpleness he is not a fan of, imo.

"Oh, correction, he was in Zombieland, I guess. I never knew it because I never saw it and not one single person I know or article I read mentioned him."

doubtful. not calling you a liar, but i think that is highly doubtful.

"Does a tree falling in a forest make a sound if no one is there to hear it?"

just because you were ignorant to the career which you were most definitely making light of does not mean that no one else was.

"What movies? Lost in Translation? (Which sums up that film.) More like cure for insomnia."

quality film. i've owned it for a few years now. even though there's no blood or boobies or cgi or 'spolsions i think it's a quality story that was told.

"Only the foreign press could appreciate that tedious pile."

pretentious, silly, and entirely not true declarative.

"I just don't care too much for this particular actor and I was being sarcastic, not factual."

no. you very much were stating mater-of-factly when you were very much uniformed and got called out on it.

"I actually really like Groundhog Day."

me too:) highly re-watchable.

"@Yossarian Do you think being smarmy when responding to someone who has obviously tried to be the bigger person makes you sound clever?"

i does not think you were trying to be "the better person". you were just trying to save face when you got called out on your uniformed silliness, imo. smarmy-no awesome-yes.

"Obviously. God forbid someone doesn't care for Bill Murray."

you are very much entitled not to like him.

"That makes them a moron. Thank you for setting things straight."

someone spouting silliness and making false declaratives makes them a moron, among many other things.

"Funny how these "intelligent" people are the only ones calling people names. Classy."

"calling names", or maybe placing an appropriate label. if i saw a waffle iron i might call it a waffle iron. being silly is not classy.

"And it's ass, not arse, unless this is a cockney Mary Poppins forum."

that is just semantics and also silliness. you know what the word meant.

"What exactly is so stupid? I don't care for Bill Murray as an actor.

many things you said were stupid, imo. no one said you had to think he was a good actor.

"I think calling someone names qualifies you as a ROYAL ass."

you just contradicted yourself in one simple sentence you hypocrite.

"I mean, come on, unless you're sleeping with the man or working for him why would you respond with such vitriol?"

many reasons. maybe there are people who do not share your "facetious", silly views. he probably has hundreds of thousands of fans out there because of the awesome work that he has put in.
Jollem - 6/11/2012, 1:15 AM
@RamonSuarez - sadistic, and funny:)
Jollem - 6/11/2012, 1:19 AM
@vital - Yoss is actually pretty damn funny. pay attention.
