Filming for Iron Man 3 took place yesterday at Cape Fear River. Stuntmen and women were suspended from cables and carried across the body of water. Based on the costumes (flight attendant) of some of the actors it's pretty safe to assume that this stunt is for a scene in the movie in which Iron Man will have to save a plane full of people. Which is something that has been rumored for a few months.

Iron Man 3 will be directed by Shane Black, and is expected to hit theaters May 3, 2013! The film stars: Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark), Gwyneth Paltrow (Virginia Potts), Don Cheadle (Col. James Rhodes), and with Ben Kingsley as the main villain.

Looking forward to this movie. RDJ one of those actors who can carry the weight of an entire cast if necessary... figuratively and literally (ba-doom-ching!) :p. But seriously, can't wait!

So Iron Man is holding one person's hand who is then holding another person's hand, who is holding another person's hand...etc. How strong are these people? This does not look realistic at all.

While there are many bootleg trailers for Man of Steel out there, for which I am grateful for where is the bootleg Iron Man 3 and Ant-Man footage?

@musashi

I wouldn't worry too much about it. The Mayans didn't account for the leap year. Technically the world would already be over. :p

Of course we'll need to see this in context...

but based on these pics the two guys holding up the crowd under Iron Man would have their arms ripped off by the weight of the crowd

something bothers me with this rescue it just seems a little awkward. so many people holding on to each other while flying? assuming its not too fast i could believe it but eh.

i hope the plane is a reference to Armor Wars that was one of the few times the action in a comic had me actually jump.

Hehehehe I bet this scene will be hilarious, like a [frick]in bad idea from Stark.

Something like "c'mon, give hands to each other, I'll grab one of you and you'll hang on, ok?"

And the passengers are like "uhhhhh..?"

Hopefully they just fly a lil' bit before hitting the lake, because there's no way everyone would stand firmly grabbing the rest for too long. Specially the first ones.

@CaptainProg - yes. Very! :)

ummmm.. not possible for those people to be holding on to each other like that. the amount of strength it would take for the guy at the top to hold onto that much weight below him with one hand...? really... Now it it was iron man holding onto a large long rope/cable and then the people holding onto that... more believable.
WarNoodle
WarNoodle - 7/17/2012, 12:52 PM
then you have the girl in iron mans right arm who is holding all those guys with her one hand....

ralfinader - 7/17/2012, 12:52 PM
@LoudNoises - Actually, the Mayans used their own calandar, not the one we use, so Dec 21st 2012 is the date modern scientists came up with, who DID take leap years into account. However, the 'doomsday' calander is actually only a part of a larger calander that goes well beyond 2012, so the whole 12/21/2012 thing is bogus anyways.

This is the stuff I look forward to more than the hero fighting the baddie in movies like these: Super heroics.

I dont know what is taking place in the scene for this to "pyramid" to occur.....but, regardless, this is such a stupid idea. I am really, REALLY hoping that he didn't save all these people and they are all, somehow, managing to holding onto each other while ironman carries them.

The plausibility and overall thought process behind this scene is so utter idiotic, that it literally makes me shake my head in disgust. Look at the top of the "pyramid". There is a girl who is dressed in, what appears to be, a flight attendant uniform. She's at the TOP of the damn thing....which means, you are telling me, that this chick is going to hold onto 9 other people WHILE supporting her own weight at the same time??? GIVE ME A BREAK. This is an example of when a movie (even a comic-book and/or sci-fi film) breaks the rules of it's own universe and loses credibility.

The fact that Shane Black was directing this actually got me pretty excited ORIGINALLY.....however, if scenes like this are going to end up in the film.....you can count me out of this one.

LAME!
