During a recent interview with The Score's Arda Ocal, former World Wrestling Federation Champion Sgt. Slaughter recounts how a conflict between two toy companies has prevent him from making a cameo in G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra and G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

Sgt. Slaughter (Robert Remus) has the unique honor of being the first G.I. Joe figure based on a real life person. The likeness is of the Sarge, but the backstory is for the most part fabricated. In the G.I. Joe universe Sgt. Slaughter is a drill instructor. His character appeared in six episodes of the original 1980's Sunbow cartoon, two of the Marvel comic books, and G.I. Joe: The Movie. His G.I. Joe action figures are some of the most popular figures ever produced in the G.I. Joe toyline.

G.I. Joe Retaliation stars Channing Tatum, D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Ray Park, Adrianne Palicki, Jonathan Pryce, RZA, Ray Stevenson, and will be released June 29, 2012 sometime in March.

nowtheresaBATman - 8/9/2012, 8:42 PM

¡¡¡Good News for Bruce "Die Hard" Willis!!!
HaroldOfGalactus - 8/9/2012, 9:25 PM
when he says him appearing in the movie but the toy company would not allow it he is referring to the animated g i joe movies, not the rise of cobra.
jessepostal - 8/9/2012, 9:26 PM
wow he really doesn't look that bad for his age and career. I salute you sgt!
jessepostal - 8/9/2012, 9:27 PM
@retrogod, nope he was sgt stone
Ranger14 - 8/9/2012, 9:29 PM
Bummer for Robert and Sgt. Slaughter fans. His chin is monstrous! His fists are twice as big as mine. He's a helluva great guy too. Still wrestles for charity and he does look good for his age.
SFCamerica - 8/9/2012, 9:35 PM
I just realized that I outrank SSG Slaughter! I can retire knowing I have achieved this great accomplishment!
Greenlantern1417 - 8/9/2012, 9:50 PM
Seeing The Sargent would have been epic, but alas, nothing that cool could ever come of this movie. When ever it might come out. I'm gonna go back and watch Arise Serpentor , Arise!
PeterDarker - 8/9/2012, 9:54 PM
That would have been the greatest thing that could have happened to this "franchise".
USAgent - 8/9/2012, 10:09 PM
What is GI Joe w/o Sgt Slaughter? We gotta have some Slaughter's Marauders at some point
KingEmperor - 8/9/2012, 10:27 PM
I remember back then when Brendan Frasier was rumored to be Sgt. Slaughter for ROC. And I was hoping for the Dreadnoks in this sequel.

There's only two ways out of my command, on your feet like a man, or in a ditty bag. An itty-bitty ditty bag! Got it!?
animeex - 8/10/2012, 5:05 AM
Willis can't replace Slaughter! It's too bad. It would have been great to see the Slaughter in this.
darkmetal - 8/10/2012, 5:19 AM
Since I'm not watching GI Jackass 2 I don't care. But Sgt. Slaughter let Vince McScumbag get him to act like an Iraqi sympathizer while we were at War with them and US Soldiers were fighting a some were dying.
Scripted or not thats some disgusting idea from McScumbag and Slaughter shouldve refused to do it.
ShadesAtKnightII - 8/10/2012, 5:21 AM
DAMN IT!
t2jax - 8/10/2012, 6:03 AM
