Kat Dennings Is Returning For THOR: THE DARK WORLD

Kat Dennings' character in Thor worked alongside scientists Jane Foster, and Erik Selvig, but more importantly provided the film with plenty of chuckles. Many have wondered if she would return for the sequel, and now Deadline has put the speculation to rest.

Deadline is reporting that Kat Dennings, star of CBS' 2 Broke Girls will reprise her role as Darcy Lewis for the sequel to Marvel's Thor. Darcy was Jane Foster's (Natalie Portman) sidekick, as well as the comic relief.

2 Broke Girls was one of the highest rated television series last year which left many questioning if she'd comeback for such a small role with her television career flourishing. Perhaps she'll have a more expanded role in Thor: The Dark World.

THOR 2 will be directed by Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) and will be released November 8, 2013. Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, and Idris Elba are all expected to return.

I have happy mammaries of Kat in Thor. I thought she was quite funny with her role as light comic-relief.

She ruined the movie for me. The writer's gave her shitty, non-funny jokes that downgraded the tone of the film, in a bad way, if she does in fact have a "larger" role, she better turn out to be Hella, or be horrifically killed, slowly...

Why? She was the worst part of the movie. Hopefully she gets killed so that we don't have to see her in future movies.

She was the worst part about thor, purely there to pull that demographic of texting tweeners

The Dark World has the potential to be [frick]ing epic. And I do like her as Darcy, Natalie Portmanteau needs a girl next door type to play ball with.

Awesome, bring back one of the absolute worst things about the first Thor flick in order to taint the second one, too.

She's tits. Not an actress.

It is delightful to see I'm not alone on this. She is irrelevant to Thor, she added 0%; Just got in the way (Like those Racist robots in Transformers, though, they weren't interrupting much...). Make her Hella or kill her off, early in the movie would be dandy.

Calm down you guys wtf... she is a fine addition, and so what if you don't like every single tiny character, maybe someone else likes them and can relate to them, so that makes the movie open to a wider audience, resulting in $$$ = more MARVEL movies. Her character did a terrific job of being a window into all the mystical stuff of Thor for people who went into the movie with no knowledge of who or what Thor is. They have a character in the movie which is just as wtf about it all as they are. A lot of people, including myself laughed at some of her scenes in Thor.

I actually liked her role more than Portman in Thor, glad to see her back! She had some of the better lines in the film and her delivery is spot-on.

You people take things too seriously. She was there as a comic relief and to be the audience's eyes.

Tomontherun99

I liked her character, she brought some humor and ultimately humor is what made Thor work, like Avengers the concept of Thor is so silly that if it was devoid of humor and took itself seriously it would just be ridiculous.

I'd rather the film be silly than cringeworthy.

I agree with @Nail. Part of what made this movie not cheesy to the public audience was that it didn't take itself too seriously.

She's kind of like how Tony Stark was in the Avengers. Except admittedly not as funny, I personally thought she was funny though.
