NICOLAS CAGE returns as Johnny Blaze in Ghost Rider™ Spirit of Vengeance. Still struggling with his curse as the devil's bounty hunter, Johnny is hiding out in a remote part of Europe when he is recruited by a secret sect of the church to save a young boy from the devil. At first Johnny is reluctant to embrace the power of the Ghost Rider, but it is the only way to protect the boy and possibly rid himself of his curse forever.


Ghost Rider : Spirit of Vengeance directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor's starring Nicolas Cage, Ciaran Hinds, Violante Placido, Idris Elba, and Johnny Whitworth.

God, this movie was terrible. It may not be the worst comic book film ever made, but it's in the Top 3.

The sad thing about it is that the GHOST RIDER mythos have the potential to be an awesomely badass adaptation on screen, but Sony they just had their hands up their asses for both movies. Hopefully GR will get some Hollywood justice in the future.

So does this flop of a film mean that Marvel Studios will regain the rights to Ghost Rider? I mean that's what Lionsgate did with the Punisher after all. Sigh, I'm just waiting till all the Marvel heroes are back home. But I am still enjoying Spider-Man and Matthew Vaughn's X-Men.

This movie was so unengaging, that I was paying more attention to the person writing text messages below than the actual film. You have to suck pretty hard for that to happen.

i liked the movie, i thought it was fun,a b movie but still fun. The rider looked great,it was different and a lot better than the first one. It wasn't suppose to be a big movie like most cbms now. I guess a lot of you don't like b movies in general.

And those are just the ones off the top of my head, this movie could have been a lot better, however, its as large a pile as a lot of people around here make it out to be

I actually don't hate this movie like a lot of people here do. I found it to be entertaining at times. My biggest gripe was Nic Cage, who I also don't loathe like other people. But his performance in this movie was oddly bland at times with splashes of bizarre over-the-top moments, even for Cage. But more unsettling was seeing a withered and aged Cage in this role, it was like watching my father in a Batman costume. Cage is way past his expiration date for a superhero role.

@DC4everLantern- Even if this movie didn't exist, Green Lantern would still suck. This is coming from somebody who was looking forward to it.

btw how great is the vfx video? i was stunned at how many things were added or enhanced digitally. the special effects department should be proud of their work, much of that was seamless.

I did actually think the flame/skull/smoke-trail effects were done really well.

The movie as a whole though was a very poorly rolled ball of poo.

this was now way better than, green lantern, Daredevil, xmen origins wolverine, and the punisher! no way, GRSoV was utter shat! only thing i liked was the credits

Don't get me wrong, I didn't LIKE it, it just didn't take itself seriously enough for me to hate it. Had I paid to see it I may have though. As it stands, it's just another crappy CBM..with some humor to stop it being completely detestable. Plus, the Rider himself was cool:)

I don't think it was in any way shape or form better than Daredevil, Superman 3, Green lantern, Wolverine origins or Punisher.

the difference with GL and GR:SOV is that I went into GL with HIGH expectations, love the director (at the time) and was expecting a live-action version of First Flight. What I got was utter shit.

While GR:SOV had the crank directors attached, which was a huge minus right off the bat since i hate those movies. Also, before I saw it word of mouth had reached me that it was awful, so when I finally saw it I was shocked to see some entertaining bits here and there.

At the end of the day I still think GR2 is better than GL. Perhaps i'm not being fair, because I see how great, and have always seen how great a GL movies should be, and to finally have one and it's donkey poop is rather upsetting.

Either way, if you're choosing between Superman 3, Daredevil, GR 1 or 2, Gl, Wolverine: Origins, or any Punisher film, I would choose.... none, go watch a good movie like THE LOOKOUT instead.

Daredevil and the punisher is right near the top on my list, drastically underrated movies in my opionion! Daredevil especially!

Worst movie of the year so far. I don't just mean comic book movies either. Cage says he's such a huge fan of the character then plays him like a clown. I just can't get the scene where he punches his chest nd then begins to sway back and forth for a while out of my head. What the f*ck was that?

I agree with @Pendaghast,

The directors cut of Daredevil is solid (minus the whole Elektra storyline and shitty soundtrack) and Thomas Jane's Punisher is criminally underrated.

This movie was pretty lame but it was still more fun than the original Ghost Rider. Nicolas Cage is a fantastic actor but he needs solid directors who can direct him and make sure he doesn't overact at times.

Not gonna lie, the effects and action was pretty cool. If they fixed the plot, didn't use cage, and fix some other issues, then they'd have a fairly good movie

Never seen it, I just knew to stay away from it based on how crappy the first one was, and guys I agree on how crappy all those other films are except DareDevil which was pretty good to me.

im sure if someone was to edit both films they could be good. but action alone couldn't save this film from the b-movie vibe. I enjoyed it, but on the same level as so many other "terrible" films. TASM>AVENGERS>TDKR

It doesn't matter what your opinion is on any other comic book movie that came out this year. Just watching this letdown makes you appreciate those movies ever more.
