Model turned actress, Rila Fu-kushima, has posted a part of a document that was handed out to the crew of The Wolverine. It's a collection of useful Japanese phrases on the left, with an easy, and sometimes humorous version of how to pronounce the phrases on the right.

As for filming for the past few days, Hugh Jackman and extras were seen wearing winter attire. Certainly wouldn't want to be Hugh for the past few days with that flannel shirt on and having the temperature spiking over eighty degrees.

雪ちゃんが送ってくれた、休憩中のヒューの背中♡... on TwitpicFor the past several days they've been filming in Tomonoura. A port in Ichichi ward of [frick]uyama, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, which is doubling as Nagasaki in the film. The area is known for it's gorgeous scenery and numerous historical temples and shrines.

Some of the scenes being filmed involved Hugh Jackman holding hands and walking with Tao Okamoto who plays Mariko Yashida. The other was of Hugh running through the streets chasing members of the Yakuza. The actors were seen adorning large black tattoos that are associate with that crime family. In the picture below if you zoom in you'll see that the bottom container in the trailer is labeled "Yazuka Shoes."

During the Yakuza chase scene Hugh was dressed in his all black outfit, that he also wore during the funeral scene he filmed just last week. Perhaps his battle with the Yakuza will take place that same day in the film.

Also, a better picture of Rila with her new Yukio hairdo.

Director James Mangold tweeted a pic of his two female leads Tao Okamoto and Rila [frick]ushima.

The Wolverine will be directed by James Mangold (Knight and Day), from a script written by Christopher McQuarrie.. The cast includes: Hugh Jackamn (Logan/Wolverine), Svetlana Khodchenkova (Viper), Hiroyuki Sanada (Shingen), Hal Yamanouchi (Yashida), Tao Okamoto (Mariko), Rila [frick]ushima (Yukio), Brian Tee (Norubo Mori), and Will Yun Lee (Kenuichio Harada/Silver Samurai). The film will claw into theaters July 26, 2013.

That costume came from the Canadian department Logan went through in the early 70s I believe. The Japanese storyline is from before that? I'm asking because I remember references from the original “new uncanny X-Men” when the X-Men faced Magnum I believe. And I read the 80s story's, but I never looked up with Logan's original Japanese story (if it was ever even put to print).

Maybe someone can help me out with this.
SpideyQuad - 9/11/2012, 6:02 PM
I meant to say “ Department H”
LoudLon - 9/11/2012, 6:04 PM
Since Wolverine has quick healing, shouldn't his hair grow back at an accelerated rate, as well?
pointman - 9/11/2012, 6:09 PM

hope420 - 9/11/2012, 6:09 PM

hope420 - 9/11/2012, 6:11 PM
And since when did Yukio Have pinkish red hair? I always thought it was short and black?
jimpinto24 - 9/11/2012, 6:22 PM
I got a great feeling that The Wolverine is going to be better than X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Hugh is awesome. He looks like a down to earth guy. I can't wait to see how this "stand-alone" film will turn out.
deanwilkins - 9/11/2012, 6:45 PM
This movie will surprise everyone by being extremely good. The script is solid. Just wait and see.
SymbioteSpidey1 - 9/11/2012, 7:12 PM
No Problem is pronounced "Mundai Nai" so they are sort of right in saying it sounds like "Monday Night".I just hope that the cast wont take it literally and I will be hearing shotty Japanese dialogue. I mean how weird would this be?

"Logan-san, daijobu?" (Logan are you alright?)

Logan: "Monday Night"

"....."
SpideyQuad - 9/11/2012, 7:50 PM
I was talking the yellow and blue costume. My convoluted point was that I didn't think he had that costume during the Japan timeline.

I'm worried, but that's a defense mechanism. Fox scars run deep.

facehugger81 - 9/11/2012, 10:16 PM
I imagine the crew walking on the street listening things like this:

pepe - 9/11/2012, 10:50 PM
Fox will destroy another movie that should be made by Marvel. Fox and Singer are Marvel killers!
ComicBookGoth - 9/12/2012, 2:08 AM
@pepe
Orehrepus - 9/12/2012, 4:28 AM
@pepe and ComicBookGoth: Yeah, guys! Fox raped my precious Wolverine!

LOL! Just kidding. I'm sure this will be as crap as the first one, but what the heck, I don't care anymore. If my son wants to see it, I'll go with him and turn my brain off and forget Wolverine ever existed and enjoy the movie for the action and the effects.
Orehrepus - 9/12/2012, 4:29 AM
After a few seconds, I got dizzy seeing Nic do that relentlessly.
Daken - 9/12/2012, 4:38 AM

jimoakley666 - 9/12/2012, 5:35 AM
The flannel shirt is as much Wolverine's costume / uniform as any silly mask and tights combo. Really looking forward to this.
TheAmarilloBlack - 9/12/2012, 6:17 AM
Asobi wa owari da!

@jimmoakley
Um...no. The costume is the costume.

The flannel is a shirt.
fettastic - 9/12/2012, 6:36 AM
Kinda weird that his hair is so short in this one. Not a big deal, but Wolvy has always had pretty wild hair and lambchops.
dezdigi - 9/12/2012, 6:50 AM
I really hope they give us a good gritty Wolvie story!
