First Look At Brad Pitt's WORLD WAR Z (Video)

The first trailer for Brad Pitt's zombie movie World War Z will pop online this Thursday, but until then Entertainment Tonight has the first glimpse of footage. The film is loosely based on Max Brooks‘ novel and was directed by Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace).

"World War Z" comes to theaters June 21, 2013.


“The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. Enos plays Gerry’s wife Karen Lane; Kertesz is his comrade in arms, Segen.”

That scene where the soldiers are laying massacre on the zombies reminds me of the chapter where an entire army keeps shooting em but they are aimlessly wasting their ammo and not shooting their heads which would have saved much more time..

but yeah can't wait for this. book was good, and I have faith in Pitt. he's one of my favorite actors, and it'd be a lie to say I didn't have wee bit of a man-crush on him.

Wtf... whats up with the "wave" looking zombie groups (idk how else to explain it) it looks like it could be good but it also looks like alot of things were changed. Battle of Yonkers better be good!

I skimmed through the book at an airport once. It looked like it was a fictitious collection of interviews with survivors and stuff from across the world who were experiencing the Zombie Apocalypse.
This looks like another generic zombie actioner. Pass.

WTF did Brad Pitt's production company do to the story?

This has NOTHING to do with the actual book - which took place AFTER the zombie war. Instead of a telling satire on human corruption, greed, and apathy we are getting a typical zombie action movie.

Just got done watching Quantum of Solace. Eccentric sense of vision that director has, not perfect for Bond I don't think, but for a Zombie movie, 110%.

@NorcalDanceMochine..I had the exact same thought..it looks like "The Mummy" franchise. What made 28 days later and The Walking Dead magnificent is the realism and grittiness. The zombies had a sense of realism and terror. This reminds me of "I Am Legend" also. And why do they move like waves of ants?

Seems like alot of zombie pile ups going on. And why is it in every movie like this there is only one man that can stop it? Oh well I'm sure it will be a fun movie I just hate E.T's movie previews they always make the movies sound cheesy.

For the movie, they have pretty much changed everything that made the book what it was.

Yeah.....they changed the whole plot. Why!!!!??? Why did they have to go with CGI zombies. Last time that happened was in I am legend and I hated it. I hope this trailer proves me wrong. Still font know why they zombies are climbing each other. Coulda been cool for one scene.

If they were going to change a lot of things from the book, they nght as well change the title of the movie. there is no need or reason to base something off of something loosely!!!

WTF? I am a huge fan of the books and what I just saw was total bullshit from what actually transpired in the novel. First, it was after the zombie apocalypse and it was about the author going around the world interviewing people of the events. Also, I know this might come off a little douchey, but the zombies could not run. And that was even explained in the book because one of the survivors brought up the fact that if the zombies could run they were [frick]ing screwed. Will we even get the [frick]ed up scene with the little girl making the zombie noises because that interview was scary as hell or even the blind guy in the snow who fought off the zombies?

It says loosely based right there, and theyve said it multiple times in interviews. They know what theyre doing thats why theyre the ones getting paid millions to do it while you sit there with no movie making experience whatsoever and complain. point is save your judgement till AFTER you see the movie. you saw 1/4 of a trailer cmon

So what? Now because a studio says the film is loosely adapted its OK to rape a thoughtful and serious piece of fiction to create another generic zombie movie? [frick] that bullshit.

Not according to reports which say the film had to endure multiple rewrites and reshoots.

it looks cool..wave n all..but, yeah, since the novel's going for something realistic, i dunno if what i see in the trailer can be called anything realistic.

i mean as incredible as a zombie virus i DOUBT anything could make the dead pile up like that in THAT speed..that's just..well, we'll just have 2 wait n see for the explanation behind it all. i wonder if max brooks, the author, approves of this drastic changes to his zombies, cuz, i think he likes his hordes as slow-moving human flesh eaters.

Last I read, they didn't consult Max Brooks at all on this version of the film, only the original script which he loved.

They did kind of rape the story, in the book it takes place 10 years after the zombie war, and it's a journalist interviewing people about how people survived during it.

This movie is about Brad Pitt trying to run across the globe and stop the zombie plague from spreading and being all action hero-y. Pretty much nothing like that book.

The book is amazing with so many survival stories. This looks like a flood of CGI zombies.

I agree that Brad Pitt has done som amazing films, but from the 30 sec that I have seen not impressed. Lets see what the full trailer looks like.

yeah i read it but from a movie makers standpoint whats going to bring people into the seats besides the people that already read it. the original or this story. For movie purposes this is way better. the book was more of a look on how a wwz affected the world medically, socially, how it affected the government, foreign relations and everything in between. which was great btw i loved the book. gave a real look into the aftermath which i appreciated. and whos to say they dont do that. maybe at the end he does write the story. anyway, back to my point, can you really see the wwz original story line being a great movie? journalist just interviewing people about the war that they obviously lived through and just going through flashbacks. orr going through it live, with some sort of protagonist battling his way through. just because its loosely based doesnt mean its not gonna turn out to be a good movie. its happened before...
