The Greek general Themistocles battles an invading army of Persians under the mortal-turned-god, Xerxes.

300: Rise of an Empire is being directed by Noam Murro, from a screenplay written by Zack Snyder ("Man of Steel"), Kurt Johnstad and Michael B. Gordon. The cast includes: Eva Green as Artemisia, Rodrigo Santoro as Xerxes, Mark Killeen as Greek Commander, Jack O'Connell as Calisto, Sullivan Stapleton as Themistocles, Callan Mulvey as Scyllias, Andrew Tiernan as Ephialtes and Ashraf Barhom as General Bandari.

I love that they don't say whose directing the movie, only that Snyder is involved.

What is it with filmakers putting spoilers in the poster. You can tell so much about the movie from this.

300 sucked so much balls. I like two of Snyder's movies, that's it. I know he's not directing it but, the fact that it's another 300 movie is a complete turn off. Snyder is like Alfonso Cuaron, nothing impressive. Which before I get bashed, yes, I did see Children of Men. I put up a very short review of it last week. In case you don't want to read it, here's what I thought of it.

Meh, nothing special about it. Just average as hell.
Anyways, back on subject. Don't like 300, don't care much for Snyder. 300: Rise of an Empire does not have my interest what so ever and I'm still debating whether it's worth ticket pricing to see, Man of Steel. It looks good but, it's also Zack Snyder. It'll be hit or miss for me.

@bobevanz: Children of Men had average acting, a premise that had potential but never came close to it. The execution of the movie overall was between average and poor. Clive Owen doesn't impress. Nothing about the movie helped me believe that, Alfonso Cuaron is a great director. Nothing about the movie impressed me nor had any emotional weight to it. You don't feel any sort of sadness for anything that goes on in the film. It's bland. 300 just sucked. Nothing about it was good. Acting sucked, visuals were meh, the style was over done, it was bland and there isn't a stand out moment in the entire movie. How it made the money it did, I'll never know cause it's utter shit.

300 was one of the best Comicbook Movies of ALLTIME & so is Watchmen!!! 10-15 years ago we would have never gotten to see a great R rated comicbook movie that stuck close to the source material (Blade was far from the comicbook version thank god!!!) & Snyder has given us 2 amazing examples of that! I love 300, does this movie need to be made...not at all bu I rather see something like this than another reboot or horror movie remake that they keep shuffling out every year!!!

I really want to see this movie, 300 is one of the most ballsiest and awesome movies of all time, and this one is based on one of my favorite battles in ancient history.

This movie will be like the first 300, only for those who has a testosterone level higher than their thirst for blood.

@Lizard1 LMFAO wow, 300 was bland and had no standout moments in it?? were you perhaps too tantalized by Gerard Butlers chiseled abs?? that movie was one of the best theatre experiences and it didn't hold back on ANYTHING. you're opinion is that of a faggots if you prefer TASM over 300. the visuals of 300 far surpass TASM's and the Lizard was one of the weakest moments in comic book HISTORY in all its shitty cliched CG human faced attributes. the amount of action in TASM equals to the amount of screen time that Gerard Butler was [frick]ing his on screen wife.

I sentence you to get repeatedly kicked in the nuts right into the bottomless pit where the Jizzard shall forever rest in the minds of comicbook fans forever.

this movie on the other hand... we'll see if the first trailer is as epic as 300's first, because that trailer was the tits on KNEES.

@Lehnsieaw: I didn't even bring TASM up. I can't remember the names but, I've seen movies ballsier than 300. Just like with Cuaron, as I stated before, Snyder has yet to impress. I like Watchmen and Dawn of the Dead. That's it. Nothing bout 300 made it engaging. I was actually bored watching it.

I dont see a point in sequel thou. Its not that interesting movie.

I wanna see a sequel to another Zack Snyder movie...DAWN OF THE DEAD! Reportedly, the sequel, titled ARMY OF THE DEAD was canceled. That would have been awesome!

300 was one of the most overrated films of all time. Gladiator was a better movie than 300. The only good thing to come out of 300 was more Gerard Butler movies.

@LehnsienLaw: Wow, why do you keep bringing that movie up? Not once have I mentioned it. You keep throwing your opinion of the movie at me and it's not doing anything. Grow up. Now, if you want to watch movies better than 300. Watch (and I'm sure you've seen most of these): Jurassic Park, Gladiator, Lincoln, Zodiac, Warrior, Blue Valentine or Brokeback Mountain. Those are movies that are from really good (Blue Valentine) to pheomenal (Lincoln), In my opinion.
