this movie has so much potential,i hope it delivers more than the amazing spider-man did.

it was an average spider-man film with good moments.

Anyone else find the picture of Spider-Man wearing a coat hilarious?

This costume looks soooo much better than the last film with no belt and the racing stripes. Is Jamie Foxx wearing a blonde wig? Is he disguised as a woman?

I kind of hate this costume. looks simple from a certain distance.

loved the one of AS1, but this reminds me of the Raimi trilogy, and feels a bit more dated

@Jollem I've seen it pretty clearly and it's almost exactly like it was in the first movie.

Overall, everything's looking pretty good for this movie so far. To me anyway.

@gambgel The costume, to me, is perfect. It's supposed to look simple, because it's a high school kid supposedly making it. Also, Spidey's costume has always been pretty simplistic.

To me, this perfectly represents the Spidey I grew up with. But, hey, to each his own.

You know how Iron Man has a bunch of different suits? I wanna see Spider-Man in a couple new costumes too.. that'd be cool.
The Avengers 3 roster:

Thor
War Machine
Spider-Man
Ant-Man
Dr. Strange

The Amazing Spider-Man wasn't a bad film by any means, but I was still somewhat disappointed by it when I first saw it. I felt like if they were gonna retell the origin story, they should have condensed it and told it in a shorter frame of time. Everybody knows the film wasn't the "untold" story it claimed to be, the first hour of the movie was just going over the same plot beats that the first one did in different settings; I couldn't help but feel like I had seen it before. Since they spent so much time retelling his origin, an so little time into developing The Lizard as a villain. Some say he's a sympathetic villain, but not really; I felt no sympathy for him in that movie. His relationship with Peter never seemed that close, and they made no real mention of why he was missing an arm and how deep his desire was to regrow it. They could've added his wife and Billy Connors into it. Those are the elements that really added character to Connors, and they left those out. Connors just felt like another mindless villain, and I recall the girl I seen the movie with saying she didn't even understand what he master plan was.

"I think this will be the dark knight of the spidey franchise"

They needed to have a Batman Begins of the Spidey franchise first. So, probably not.

But it does have the potential to be the Attack of the Clones of the Spidey franchise; better than the last by default.

LeonNova
LeonNova - 4/28/2013, 9:59 AM
Anyway, my hope for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is since they have the origin out of the way, they can make a movie that jumps right into the actions, and develops it's characters; especially the villains, way better than the first film did. Jamie Foxx and Paul Giamatti are both great actors and I'm sure they'll do a good job. I hope they do the inclusions of Mary Jane, Harry, and Norman justice and set up the third film to be an epic conclusion to the trilogy. And I'm betting Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be the first Spidey film to gross 1 Billion, and if not 2, then 3.

How anyone could take spiderman seriously with this suit ? wrether you liked or not the suit he had in the previous movie, it looked modern, and you can't go from a modern suit to less modern looking suit (exept if they explain that in the second one Peter is kind of broke, and spends less money in the suit, hence the lesser quality). Sorry guys, that's my opinion.
shamo
shamo - 4/28/2013, 10:06 AM
@supercat, then what they should tell us is their goal was to make him look as nerdy as possible. and sense the guys obsessed with spiderman to the point he's posting up pictures all over the place we can add in the fact that he's not only nerdy but he's touched in the head as well.

shamo
shamo - 4/28/2013, 10:08 AM
and i agree. i definitely prefred the other suit. problem is, fanboys bitched and wined and Webb decided to give them what they wanted.

but with that said, i dont dislike this costume. just not a big fan of it.

Drewbee87 - 4/28/2013, 10:08 AM
@TheDIsSilent "It's supposed to look simple, because it's a high school kid supposedly making it."

It's a little late for the costume to be simple, seeing as how in the first one they made him out to be an expert costume maker. IMO, this is a step backwards.

They could have at least kept the boots-snickers from the first one. His new boots have heels ...

This looks great! i cant wait. I love the whole cast, and this will be the Dark Knight version of Spider-man. This is no longer the reboot some people was against.. this wil from this point be a whole different story of spiderman .
TheDIsSilent
TheDIsSilent - 4/28/2013, 10:26 AM
@Drewbee87 I've seen a lot of people make close to screen accurate suits from TASM, so it seems like it is decently easy to make that suit in real life.

Why did they make Jamie Foxx look like the bastard son of Mr. Freeze from "Batman and Robin"?
TimL

Can't believe there are still people that think the untold story was supposed to be told in the first movie... Webb said 59305853 times that the untold story will be told throughout the franchise, not in the first movie.

I'm guessing that Pete saved him from Rhino, given the collateral damage.
