Can't Fox see they're setting the whole franchise up to die a straight to DVD sequel death?

I'm not a fan of the guy but I don't hate him and to see that he is not on board for Chronicle 2 was a bummer.

Oh FOX when will you ever learn.

DARKER WOULD HAVE BEEN COOLER BUT THEN AGAIN DARKER MEANS EXCLUDING A PERCENTAGE OF THE GENERAL AUDIENCE/ GENERAL AUDIENCE $...GREEDY SUITS....NO DARKER SCRIPT. WHAT SUCKS IS THAT THEY PLAY IT SAFE BY RECYCLING THE SAME STUFF...IT'S BS.

"While fans of the first were slightly upset that Trank was returning, most were pleasantly surprised to have Landis back."

I enjoyed the definitely NOT perfect MOS. And I agree with Max Landis that the HERO part of superheroes should be emphasized more so than the SUPER part. However, in MOS, I think Superman making big mistakes in his first big situation is quite acceptable as something from which he will learn. We can't expect him to be wise and flawless in his decision-making from the very beginning.
Even in Superman II, he makes the initial mistake of choosing to fight the Kryptonians within downtown Metropolis. He then realized his error and left the scene to stop the destruction and eventually leads the baddies to the less populated Fortress of Solitude for their comeuppance.

I will be very surprised if he allows that much destruction again in this particular run of Superman movies. However, it may be inevitable in a JLA movie. We shall soon see.

Yeah, I won't be watching the sequel. Sounds like Landis wanted to make a continuation of the story and Fox just want a remake of the original. Which is what we'll get now. No thanks, Fox.

He is spot on about MoS by the way, if Metropolis is destroyed then he is not Superman.

Chronicle was ok. Fox still sucks though.

Landis was way off on his comments on MoS. Zod took the fight to Metropolis. The only reason why Supes went half way round the world to stop the world engine was so he didn't have to contend with Zod's men while he took it down.

Not to mention the majority of destruction was Zods doing not Supermans. Zod also said in the final battle he was going to make him pay by killing everyone, supes had no choice but to fight him there and then. If Supes took off to more open ground Zod still would have stayed in Metropolis to kill everyone.

Back on point though... Fox are scum, I'm not a fan of Max but this is his story... So he should be allowed to tell it how he wants.

I liked Chronicle, but the guy has ONE 'superhero' movie under his belt and he suddenly takes himself for the be-all end-all expert on the subject. Chronicle WASN'T like the big CBM blockbusters which made it refreshing, once. I don't think it'll work as well as second time.

Couldn't of happened to a nicer Douche. Look I thought Chronicle was ok, but it wasn't much than a rip from Akira. Wasn't too interested in the sequel, and definitely not that much interested in this guy's work in general.
