Looks great. Looks a lot taller with him standing next to it. Kind of happy to know it won't be a full cgi construct, and at least using some practical effects
Highflyer

it might look better on screen with cgi-enhancements

This looks kinds lame. They should've used the design from X-men 3.

you guys do realize this is the 70s sentinel. Its only the initial model.

Some people can find anything to complain about I swear. We are finally getting god damn sentinels and people STILL COMPLAIN. Stop your god damn whining and YOU do better!

IronAsgaardian95 - 8/1/2013, 11:07 AM
Maybe it's part of the first generation of sentinels and not part of the ones that will be featured in the future. Just a thought.

I hate the clear plastic armor it just looks stupid on the robot. I also hate the air vent in it's chest I don't even understand what it's purpose could be.

I like it. I think the smaller, yet still pretty darn big, designs are better to use for the movie, rather than the traditional 'bigger than the city buildings' ones from like the comics. and obviously that's not what it will look like completely on screen, it'll look more durable and such when the movie magic is in.

I think its great. cant wait to see the finished product.

Ckal - You're the poster boy for negativity. It's not the [frick]in comic. And this isn't even being seen in context. It's a set photo. It will look better in the movie after post. I looks cool to me. The look from the comic wasn't that [frick]in cool to begin with, and even THOSE have changed so many times its impossible to know which "comic look" you're even talking about.

Here's my question. Why is it ok for whatever new comic writer gets hired to change the way everybody and everything looks, but when a movie does it, you whiney bastards throw a hissy fit?

This looks fine. much more realistic than some giant purple and pink robot with no visible joints.

the x-men 3 design? X-men 3 DIDNT have a design... thats how cheap that movie was. They kept the damn thing in shadow and the head looked freaking terrible.

This is amazing.

I don't know what people are complaining so much about... there are gonna be AT LEAST TWO versions of the sentinel seen in DOFP (more than likely. Given that trask material hinting at mark X..)

Plus, has anyone ever thought that the vent on its chest is...

A SPOTLIGHT?!?

Makes perfect sense to me...

So stoked.

I like the size, hopefully there are bigger ones, but I guess it just doesn't look like a sentinel to me.

Hopefully it'll get CGI enhancements. The head is cool, but from the chest down, looks incomplete.

Keep in mind that like cars, capabilities and looks can alter with new developments and technology. This is one "model year" of Sentinel.

It will be touched up heavily by CGI, I am hoping so at any rate.

I am just glad that they are pretty damn tall

As much as I think Singer is a hack guys, I'm sure with CGI you will get a better look and a taller robot.

Right now you are looking at a foam and plastic model. On screen the thing can be 50 feet of titanium.

With all that said, DoFP is the last time I'm giving Fox my money on these X films. If this doesn't

1. Clean up the continuity
2. Bring back Cyclops as the leader
3. End with the Xmen in costumes

I'm DONE!!!

It's the same thing I said about Mandarin, Ultron and now the Xmen. If you are not going to represent the characters, stop using the names. Call it the Gimp Suit men or GS-Men
