Sentinels made their debut in 1965, X-Men #14. They were created by Bolivar Trask, a man that believed mutants, with their superior powers, would end up conquering the human race, eventually enslaving them. To prevent that he built Sentinels, giant robots with autonomy and self-consciousness. To help churn out these bad boys Bolivar built "Master Mold," a giant Sentinel-shaped factory, that manufactured Sentinels. At some point the Sentinels become too powerful and Trask has a change of heart, so he sacrifices himself to put an end to his creation.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past will be directed by Bryan Singer ("Usual Suspects"). The cast includes: Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender,, Ian McKellen, Nicholas Hoult, Omar Sy, Peter Dinklage, Halle Berry, Adan Canto, Fan Bingbing, Anna Paquin, Evan Peters, Daniel Cudmore, Ellen Page and Booboo Stewart. Bryan Singer directs the film in theaters on May 23, 2014!

fettastic - 8/1/2013, 11:03 AM
It's the first WELL-LIT image anyway. We got a string of them yesterday, plus the Trask commercial which features one.
SuperDude001 - 8/1/2013, 11:04 AM
Arms look tiny and chest too easu to destroy. Apart from that, could work.
TTT0809 - 8/1/2013, 11:04 AM
Looks OK but not great.
nailbiter111 - 8/1/2013, 11:04 AM
fettastic - those weren't set photos.
JettJagguarrr - 8/1/2013, 11:04 AM
It's kinda like this.....

funny gifs
charlie2094 - 8/1/2013, 11:05 AM
Looks cool, different to the previous version, so assume we'll end with a version more like the comics, though they are a bit ridiculously big. Probably cause earthquakes with every step, makes sense making them a bit smaller.
MCUfan1 - 8/1/2013, 11:05 AM
The MRK I is ok but where's the MRK X.
Negaduck - 8/1/2013, 11:05 AM
Yeah that's garbage. I was sooo looking forward to this but I just don't trust Bryan Singer anymore.
M3T4LL0 - 8/1/2013, 11:05 AM
YESS!!!!!! Looks awesome. Some of you people are just so damn hard to please.... it really sickens me.
bluehit - 8/1/2013, 11:05 AM
Looks great! Good to know that the great Singer is back
DrDoom - 8/1/2013, 11:05 AM
Are they made of plastic so that Magneto can't fight them
MrCameron - 8/1/2013, 11:05 AM
Cue the idiots bitching about it being too small.
fortycals - 8/1/2013, 11:06 AM
Looks great. Looks a lot taller with him standing next to it. Kind of happy to know it won't be a full cgi construct, and at least using some practical effects
Highflyer - 8/1/2013, 11:06 AM
it might look better on screen with cgi-enhancements
bazinga85 - 8/1/2013, 11:06 AM
This looks kinds lame. They should've used the design from X-men 3.
TPerryoo7 - 8/1/2013, 11:06 AM
you guys do realize this is the 70s sentinel. Its only the initial model.

Some people can find anything to complain about I swear. We are finally getting god damn sentinels and people STILL COMPLAIN. Stop your god damn whining and YOU do better!
IronAsgaardian95 - 8/1/2013, 11:07 AM
Maybe it's part of the first generation of sentinels and not part of the ones that will be featured in the future. Just a thought.
pesmerga44 - 8/1/2013, 11:07 AM
I hate the clear plastic armor it just looks stupid on the robot. I also hate the air vent in it's chest I don't even understand what it's purpose could be.
tylerox9 - 8/1/2013, 11:07 AM
I like it. I think the smaller, yet still pretty darn big, designs are better to use for the movie, rather than the traditional 'bigger than the city buildings' ones from like the comics. and obviously that's not what it will look like completely on screen, it'll look more durable and such when the movie magic is in.

I think its great. cant wait to see the finished product.
Sophisticated - 8/1/2013, 11:07 AM
The size may be an issue. The look is more sleek than the 90s version. It's not that bad. But we will have to see it in action.
WinterAvenger - 8/1/2013, 11:07 AM
All I see is a vacuum, cleaner a tall one.
DuckNation - 8/1/2013, 11:07 AM
Freaking awesome!!!
TheRationalOne - 8/1/2013, 11:08 AM
Ckal - You're the poster boy for negativity. It's not the [frick]in comic. And this isn't even being seen in context. It's a set photo. It will look better in the movie after post. I looks cool to me. The look from the comic wasn't that [frick]in cool to begin with, and even THOSE have changed so many times its impossible to know which "comic look" you're even talking about.

Here's my question. Why is it ok for whatever new comic writer gets hired to change the way everybody and everything looks, but when a movie does it, you whiney bastards throw a hissy fit?

This looks fine. much more realistic than some giant purple and pink robot with no visible joints.
TPerryoo7 - 8/1/2013, 11:08 AM
the x-men 3 design? X-men 3 DIDNT have a design... thats how cheap that movie was. They kept the damn thing in shadow and the head looked freaking terrible.

This is amazing.

TayDee - 8/1/2013, 11:08 AM
Kinda looks like shit
GodzillaKart - 8/1/2013, 11:09 AM
Very cool. Obviously, a direct transfer from the comics would look silly.
charlie2094 - 8/1/2013, 11:09 AM
Probably plastic due to Magneto. Wouldn't make giant protector robots that Magneto could destroy on a whim.

People will complain about anything. This might not even be the final sentinel model, besides, they're ridiculously big in the comics, no way that would work in a real world.
xfan320 - 8/1/2013, 11:09 AM
I don't know what people are complaining so much about... there are gonna be AT LEAST TWO versions of the sentinel seen in DOFP (more than likely. Given that trask material hinting at mark X..)

Plus, has anyone ever thought that the vent on its chest is...

A SPOTLIGHT?!?

Makes perfect sense to me...

So stoked.
JGAR - 8/1/2013, 11:10 AM
Look at grif sucking Transformers 4's d*ck, makes me even wonder why he hates the GOOD-looking movies.
ScabbyJ - 8/1/2013, 11:10 AM
I like the size, hopefully there are bigger ones, but I guess it just doesn't look like a sentinel to me.
FightAs0ne - 8/1/2013, 11:10 AM
Hopefully it'll get CGI enhancements. The head is cool, but from the chest down, looks incomplete.
KaneVonDoom - 8/1/2013, 11:10 AM
Keep in mind that like cars, capabilities and looks can alter with new developments and technology. This is one "model year" of Sentinel.
kirynthemighty - 8/1/2013, 11:10 AM
That is one odd looking portable fan.
HavocPrime - 8/1/2013, 11:10 AM
It will be touched up heavily by CGI, I am hoping so at any rate.

I am just glad that they are pretty damn tall
CharlesLord - 8/1/2013, 11:10 AM
LMFAOOOOOOOOOO that looks terrible
NBAfanaddict - 8/1/2013, 11:11 AM
Personal thought is that this won't be the final design.
SpectacularJoShFest - 8/1/2013, 11:11 AM
LMFAO That shit looks like shit...what a shitty piece of shit that shit is..............SHIT.
ParisSun - 8/1/2013, 11:11 AM
As much as I think Singer is a hack guys, I'm sure with CGI you will get a better look and a taller robot.

Right now you are looking at a foam and plastic model. On screen the thing can be 50 feet of titanium.

With all that said, DoFP is the last time I'm giving Fox my money on these X films. If this doesn't

1. Clean up the continuity
2. Bring back Cyclops as the leader
3. End with the Xmen in costumes

I'm DONE!!!

It's the same thing I said about Mandarin, Ultron and now the Xmen. If you are not going to represent the characters, stop using the names. Call it the Gimp Suit men or GS-Men
TheMadman - 8/1/2013, 11:12 AM
Hey! I never knew Dyson was an anti-mutant corporation.
