TASM2 - Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

Wonder if we'll see what he looks like in that Rhino suit!

You guys think they'll pull off a sinister 6 showdown in the 4th film??

Or will they work towards making two more films after the success of 2+3?

Oh yeah and is that Venom spin-off still happening??

I dont get how they can be so confident that there will even be a third or even fourth installment and plan so far ahead.

I mean the first one dident do all that well either financially or critically.

Who says that the second one will do well enough to make it worth doing a third one? And definitely a fourth one.

Poor planning. This isent the Avengers.

@BlackJack

Actually it dident.

About 250 domestic. Pretty low for Spidey. Actually the lowest ever for a Spidey film. Especially when its supposed to be new and improved.

Its pretty much 50/50 as far as fans go and critically its nothing too great. 7.1 on imbd if u go for that.

You apparently misunderstood me with the Avengers comment. I dont mean everything has too be a good as Avengers. I meant only something as successfull as Avengers warrants planning so far ahead as a third and fourth installment when the second hasent even been released yet.

the amazing spider-man had its moments but was average at best. the amazing spider-man 2 looks better than it from the leaked comic con footage alone.

best spidey films so far

1st spider-man 2
2nd spider-man
3rd spider-man 3/the amazing spider-man (just as bad as each other)

The guys at Sony knew they would take a hit rebooting Spider-Man so soon after the Raimi trilogy and had to be pleasantly surprised at how well TASM, which was basically
a rehash of Spider-Man, did in the same 2012 CBM marketplace dominated by The Avengers and TDKR.

In that light, 700 + million world wide has to be seen as a win.

I wasn't a huge fan of TASM but I'm really looking forward to the next film because Spider-Man has a traditional costume and he is fighting villains played by name actors.

The movie earned $750 million. Man of Steel earned $660mill, I guess that was a bomb at the box office.

No. Both movies did extremely well. Spidey2 earned $780 million. All these numbers are freaking amazing. TASM had it's flaws but was a solid movie and I'm looking forward to the rest of its sequels. Seems like its getting better and better.
