Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Rene Russo, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Zachary Levi, Jaimie Alexander, Ray Stevenson, Kat Dennings, Christopher Eccleston, and Idris Elba.

Luminus - 10/4/2013, 4:39 AM
It will make more than Man of Steel because of the connection to the Avengers.
Dinotron - 10/4/2013, 4:39 AM

snazzyrazzy - 10/4/2013, 4:53 AM
I honestly just can't see this being bad. The action looks too good, the dialogue seems perfect, and the directing is spot-on.

BRING ON THE DARK WORLD

Step back all 2013 CBMs. The king is here!
loki668 - 10/4/2013, 5:05 AM
He caught that hammer like Gusto catching the herpes!!
Visualiza - 10/4/2013, 5:10 AM
No disrespect, but snazzy if you really feel that way then you're either incredibly naive or you haven't been around very long. I know I could never hope to count the amount of times I ended up disappointed in a movie after being hooked by slick production values and dazzling trailers.

I'd always advise that for even your most beloved characters and franchises, to approach them with cautious optimism at the very least. Everything can fail when it comes to art and fiction. Although Hollywood may act otherwise, film making is not like an assembly line.

Only a few weeks to go...cannot wait!!!
loki668 - 10/4/2013, 5:11 AM
And by that I mean he caught it horizontally, with his feet over his head! BA-DUM-BUM!!
BackwardGalaxy - 10/4/2013, 5:13 AM
Curious what Eccleston does here.
NeoBaggins - 10/4/2013, 5:16 AM
THOR needs his own shoe after that one.

We can't have too much action cause a lot of these fanboys will act like they got sand in their vaginas.

The part where Thor catches Mjolnir in midair is BEAUTIFUL!
MightyZeus - 10/4/2013, 5:49 AM
Whoah. This movie hands down looks awesome. Glad this is coming out in October over here.
MightyZeus - 10/4/2013, 5:51 AM
Damn i'm worried this movie might get hated because people will complain there's too much destruction in this movie and too much action.
soforizo - 10/4/2013, 5:56 AM
@raccoonwithrockets

You know what, as long as these movies keep getting made, those destruction whiners can suck it. MOS and THOR 2 for the win!
Amazing512 - 10/4/2013, 5:58 AM
@raccoonwithrocets
I'm not worried. The trailers and spots seem to indicate crazy action with a great story. There are a lot of great one-liners!
SuperCat - 10/4/2013, 6:03 AM
@ raccoonwithrockets

Trust me. The same folks that complained about too much destruction in MOS won't complain if that's the case in this one. Can't wait to see it!
jlabatman - 10/4/2013, 6:21 AM
Sif needs to behead Portman and then bed Thor, possibly with Dennings tag-teaming!
MrReese - 10/4/2013, 6:29 AM
Yup no 1 will give 2 [frick]s bout all the destruction.
Greengo - 10/4/2013, 6:45 AM

don't know why but I cant get too excited for this movie, the trailer looks ecent but I still think they are lacking something. could more and better action or more of the villain idk.

if Thor 2 didn't have the Avengers as a prequel this movie would have probably made about 400-600 million or around the same 448 million of the first Thor but because of The Avengers I think we could see the worldwide box office somewhere btw 600-800 million.

It will probably be second or third highest grossing comic book movie of the year fighting against Man of Steel. Iron Man 3 will probably stay not only as the highest cbm but also the highest grossing movie of the year, however I see the Hobbit as a serious contender.
Wolverine is making decent money and should be the lowest and fourth cbm of 2013. its making less money in the usa THAN XMen Origins Wolverine but will earn more worldwide than the origin movie.
jlabatman - 10/4/2013, 7:03 AM
Omarvls - 10/4/2013, 7:05 AM

@SageMode
I would be great if it reached a Billion but why are you so confident on that number?
TheAbomination - 10/4/2013, 7:20 AM
"I'm impressed."
JoJo1982 - 10/4/2013, 7:30 AM
@brazilian

Heck The Wolverine is 20 or so, to becoming 400 million club and its the 2nd highest grossing x-film to date.
Ppl was saying the movie was going to flop, lol.... Those folks got quiet now.
patrat18 - 10/4/2013, 7:33 AM
