We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

I'm kinda liking that goblin look the more I see it... It's all gonna depend on the voice! Do hope he wears a hood at some point..
FightAs0ne - 1/7/2014, 1:48 AM
God they love that Electro pose lol
Luminus - 1/7/2014, 1:49 AM
No Hulk Goblins. Not now. Not ever!
FightAs0ne - 1/7/2014, 1:52 AM
Nah. I predict with Harry being the Goblin on the glider, Norman will be Hulk Goblin, which I have no problem with.
mil05 - 1/7/2014, 1:54 AM
April 17 in Aus?!
That's amazing
TankD - 1/7/2014, 1:54 AM
[frick] that shit ass goblin. I dont see why its so hard to give him the goblin hat.
TheDpool - 1/7/2014, 1:56 AM
Yeah that's DeHaan, I'm liking it so far seems like a new approach
Humperdink - 1/7/2014, 1:56 AM
His teeth green, too?
Damn. He really got turned.

Well at least he isn't an armored power-ranger.
TheDpool - 1/7/2014, 1:58 AM
TankD@ because some things just don't work on screen no matter how simple it seems hence caps costume being so bulky in Avengers Assemble the goblins hat would be flopping everywhere and just look stupid.
Fanmar16 - 1/7/2014, 2:02 AM
The goblin is Dane DeHaan, the face is Dane DeHaan
Luminus - 1/7/2014, 2:05 AM
@TheDpool: Uhm.... no:

No excuses!
Doopie - 1/7/2014, 2:08 AM
it's DeHaan alright...hmmm lets see how this goes
CoulsonLives - 1/7/2014, 2:13 AM
@Luminus
That Goblin looks like a 60's cartoon. Too silly for today's standards.
SuperDude001 - 1/7/2014, 2:16 AM
A goblin hat and the whole make-up job (like in the video Luminus just posted) while looks cool as if it's a million dollar cosplay it would just look stupid on film. There's no reason for Goblin to look that goofy.
However having said that, I do think DeHaan should at least have a hood, a modernised eccentric outfit of the comics Goblin, not just some machinery and armour.
FightAs0ne - 1/7/2014, 2:17 AM
@Luminus Having that purple hat won't make or break the Goblin as a villain. Just like having the green and yellow costume won't make or break Electro.
MCUfan1 - 1/7/2014, 2:18 AM
Did you guys notice in the trailer the suit harry was wearing wasn't complete?
COREYxYEROC - 1/7/2014, 2:19 AM
why the hell would they waste time, money and research on that mask just to not use it? instead they go with some stupid looking power ranger mask... oh i know why... its cause they could make and sell those easy. thats the reason they went with the one they did.

and @coulsenlives add some cgi and have it a bit darker and it would look amazing. how is the one they went with not silly?
heisei24 - 1/7/2014, 2:19 AM
Green Goblin Pooping
MightyZeus - 1/7/2014, 2:27 AM
I think Harry is just going to be the glider Goblin and that's it. I'm unsure as to why there is no mask maybe there is an explanation in the film for it but i do think that Norman could transform into the ultimate goblin in this film or a future TASM film.
Luminus - 1/7/2014, 2:41 AM
The word "silly" should not be used when criticizing elements of a Spider-Man film. It is an invalid term to use in regards to a man who spins webs and swings around the city in a brightly colored unitard.
COREYxYEROC - 1/7/2014, 2:41 AM
fangz if you had any idea the though process of these studios you would agree with me. they cancel things based solely on sales of toys and merch
Luminus - 1/7/2014, 2:44 AM
@FightAs0ne: Green Goblin without the hat and mask is like Venom without the sharp teeth and long tongue. It's like Batman without a cape; Superman in all Black because primary colors on screen "look silly."
Luminus - 1/7/2014, 2:45 AM
@COREYxYEROC: +1. It's the reason why Teen Titans was canceled. Not enough toy sales.
charlie2094 - 1/7/2014, 2:49 AM
Yeah, the Goblin hat wouldn't work, looks ridiculous and holds no purpose, hardly an important part of the character, like Thor and his helmet. That Goblin minus the hat might work, but it still looks pretty damn goofy...be nice to see such a thing work, but not everything translates that well

Long as he acts like the Goblin, that's the most important part, even though I think Norman is still going to be the Green Goblin, has Webb ever actually called Harry Green Goblin?
Natetrix79 - 1/7/2014, 2:55 AM
How does that Gorgeous Goblin mask look more silly than the crap they used???? It's the same face just metal with a fixed expression. The whole reason for the mask is to hide his identity & cause terror & that mask is way more terrifying than the one used in the movie!!!
Natetrix79 - 1/7/2014, 2:59 AM
And I agree with @fangz I hate when they make them take off their mask & 5 or 6 people their identity per movie! By the end of Spiderman 2 half of New York saw his face.
UltimateTypeface - 1/7/2014, 3:06 AM
[frick]!!!

Its not so hard!!

Give him a creepy latex goblin mask!!! Just like the [frick]ing comics!

They are going to mainstream this and go with the twilight pretty boy version.

RESPECT!! Why cant these assholes respect?

marvel72 - 1/7/2014, 3:10 AM
electro looks good.
rhino looks pretty good.
green goblin looks shit.
marvel72 - 1/7/2014, 3:13 AM
@ luminus

now that's how the green goblin should look, but with a latex mask.
Natetrix79 - 1/7/2014, 3:24 AM
I'm pretty sure since Osborn has a few bucks his goblin mask would be top of the line latex. (And the fact that I could see Bill Defoe's mouth when he was talking through the mask bugged me but his performence was sick)
Natetrix79 - 1/7/2014, 3:30 AM
I'm telling you the studio execs probably told Sam to change it because his other villains were pretty spot on like that goblin mask. Doc Ock definitely need an update for the movies but he still look very similar to the comic version Sandman was perfect then they had to throw in Venom & ruin him.
SigmaCenturion - 1/7/2014, 3:31 AM
I wish they would have just used the animatronic mask from the other spider-man movie it looks so much better.
TankD - 1/7/2014, 3:31 AM
@luminus YES but I would like to see goblin the way they do orcs but in the nature of that goblin design. A hat wouldnt flop around because they have professionals to make that shit right. They chose this design and it was the wrong choice.
zefi - 1/7/2014, 3:32 AM
Norman cant be an hulk goblin!!is horrible we have seen a huge green monster!! I think that norman will use the harry glider and his armor and i will use an helmet
CoulsonLives - 1/7/2014, 3:32 AM
@fangz
Actually I think he has pointy bluetooth type things so he can communicate with his dad or something.
Marxman12 - 1/7/2014, 3:33 AM
There's no way this Goblin will top William DeFoe's.
Luminus - 1/7/2014, 3:44 AM
Despite the dated look of this, Green Goblin's performance in this is pretty exciting; particularly, towards the 13 min mark.

CoulsonLives - 1/7/2014, 3:51 AM
@TankD
At least he isn't wearing pinkish purple like the real Goblin. At least this Goblin looks menacing...
TheDpool - 1/7/2014, 3:51 AM
Luminus@ I do believe you were owned sir.
CoulsonLives - 1/7/2014, 3:53 AM
@Luminus
That video was mad in the 60's or 70's I believe. The performances were good but those costumes would look silly on screen. We don't want another ridiculous emo Peter who takes away the tone of the movie.
