FANTASTIC FOUR Director Josh Trank Shoots Down Female Dr. Doom Rumor

We only hear about the Fantastic Four reboot when Josh Trank is denying the latest casting rumor, or a purportedly "fake" synopsis that had 20th Century Fox's lawyers in such a tizzy. So, it comes as no surprise that Trank has "debunked" THR's female Dr. Doom rumor.

Yesterday, The Hollywood Reporter reported that their sources had heard quite the juicy rumor: 20th Century Fox and Josh Trank ("Chronicle") are considering casting a female to play Doctor Doom (Victor von Doom) in their Fantastic Four reboot. Like clockwork, Josh Trank hopped onto his Twitter account and issued yet another "denial." Which is something that he has done quite often in past. Most notably, he did it for the casting rumors involving Michael B. Jordan ("Fruitvale Station"), Miles Teller ("Whiplash"), Josh Gad ("Frozen") and the rumored synopsis that 20th Century Fox issued cease and desist notices for. Despite Trank's denials most of the trades believe Michael B. Jordan is a lock to be Johnny Storm/Human Torch and that Miles Teller is up for the role of Mr. Fantastic/Reed Richards. Funny enough, besides tweeting Trank denying the Dr. Doom rumor, he also admitted that "one" of his earlier denials was not accurate. You can view those tweets below.

THR was probably leaked those details deliberately so that Fox could see the reaction. Obviously, from all the negativity on this and other websites it appears we're still in the dark ages.

Is it possible he was referring to my speculative article? I know he's seen because I tweeted it to him immediately after someone asked about the villain. Or should we read too far into it think it means out of the rumor he's debunked so far, one of them he outright lied about. I'm always one to doubt neither Miles Teller nor Michael B. Jordan have anything to do with this, Teller himself admits that he starts rumors about himself just to get people talking.

How about Trank and Fox actually confirm something because so far almost all the news regarding this movie is receiving more negative backlash than positive. IMO, not a good way to stir up hype even if most of what he have read about this reboot is bullshit.
