Based on one of the most successful and popular comic books of all time, written by Robert Kirkman, AMC’s The Walking Dead captures the ongoing human drama following a zombie apocalypse. The series follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln (Love Actually, Teachers, Strike Back), who are traveling in search of a safe and secure home. However, instead of the zombies, it is the living who remain that truly become the walking dead. Jon Bernthal (The Pacific, The Ghost Writer) plays Shane Walsh, Rick's sheriff's department partner before the apocalypse, and Sarah Wayne Callies (Prison Break), is Rick's wife, Lori Grimes. Additional cast include: Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Jeffrey DeMunn, Chandler Riggs, Iron E. Singleton and Melissa McBride. Guest stars include: Lauren Cohan, Scott Wilson and Pruitt Taylor Vince.

The Walking Dead stars: Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Laurie Holden, Jeffrey DeMunn, Scott Wilson, Emily Kinney, Sarah Wayne Callies, Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs, Norman Reedus, Iron E. Singleton, Madison Lintz, Danai Gurira, Melissa Suzanne McBride, Michael Rooker, Lauren Cohan, Vincent M. Ward, Chad L. Coleman, and David Morrissey.

Carl is the most lucky son of a bitch in tv history. Let it had been an extra their ass would have been dead in mere seconds. And on the topic of Carl they made him pretty annoying much like he was in Season 2. He made all this character progression in season 3 and the beginning of season 4 and relapse right back into an annoying ass brat. This episode was pretty boring for a mid-season premire, here's hoping the rest won't be.

Man they cast the Game of Throne kids so well, too bad it couldnt translate over to TWD. Not a personal shot at Chandler Riggs character but he just doesnt have the acting chops

I don't know why you guys keep giving this series a chance. It has bored me out. Season 1 was great, Season 2 was a boredome, first half of season 3 was very good, second half another boredome. And Season 4 hasn't interested me at all. The show is a major cliffhanger. Nothing happens during the entire season, BUT in the final chapter, when something finally happens, bang, see you on february. I'd rather play the awesome Telltale Games or read the comics.

This may be the most Carl has acted the whole series. He is getting better though.

It was okay. Could have been better.

I do give credit to the actor playing Carl. With each season of The Walking Dead Chandler's acting get's better. It's not great but it's decent.

A great return to what it's like to live in that shitty world. Gave some backstory for Michonne in a different and non forced way. Solid episode leading up to the rest of the season.

Thought it was a solid episode, not one of the best but solid.Loved the hallucination sequence and mass zombie kill for Michonne. Carl's becoming a little bad-ass in his own respect, but still naive. Next couple of episodes will most likely follow the same format as tonights,Darryl/Beth,Tyrese,Sasha,Bob/and those girls, Glenn/Maggie etc, keeping the focus as minimal and introducing more of their backgrounds......8/10 for tonights episode.

I thought that it was a great episode. I really enjoyed watching Michonne go "Yojimbo" on those walkers!! I don't understand the people who found it boring but that's their view of the show, I guess.

It may not have been the greatest episode ever, but I seriously had a giant grin on my face at the end. 3 1/2 seasons and still addicted!

Is it just me or does the pacing of the show just feels slow. It's like Season 1 and 2 knew where it was going and lots of things happened in every episode and the Story and plot where constantly progressing. They where trying to get from point A to point B. Now it just feel like the characters are wondering around with nothing to drive them. Stuff is just happening.

Season one
1. Rick Looking for Family
2. Rick works his way to Atlanta
3. Rick mets friends, escapes Atlanta and finds Family.
4. Group looks for CDC
5. Group escapes from CDC

Season two
1. Group looses Sofia and looks for Sofia
2. Carl gets shot and group tries to save his life.
3. Group settle on Farm
4. Group finds man from another group and try to decide what to do with him.
5. Rick kills Shane and attracts Herd.
6. Everyone try to survive.

Season 3
Only the first half of the season was good. The plot was clear and you knew the characters goals.
1. Clear the prison.
2. Deal with inmates.
3. Deal with rouge inmate.
4. Wood Berry kidnaps people
5. Group rescue people.

After that the show slowed to a snail pace. Everyone became Zombie killing Superheroes, The Zombies got sidelined and became a secondy threat. Then all the tension left the show.

Season 4
Everything is slow paced. The Plot barely moves forward and every episode is a drama and a character piece. The Governor episodes where boring and felt point less.

@Demongod

Honestly, I prefer it this way. The pacing has definitely slowed with every succeeding season, but they are giving the characters (of which there are many) room to breath.

The episode was essentially a retelling of the comic, but the book did it so well that I can't fault them for wanting to emulate it. And next week, we get to see what the others have had to go through, which makes sense for the second ep.

Great episode. Liked that Carl learned a little lesson. Maybe he would be less of a douche. Love the focus on just the three, because there would've been to much to get through if they focused on everyone else. Happy to see the choices that was made by michonne and Carl. If I took one theme from this episode, it would be making a decision not to go at it alone in the cold world. Oh and Rick would have been dead [frick]ing with me.
