Leo Dicaprio... wait another year
MexicanChinman - 3/2/2014, 9:12 PM
Even though I wanted Leonardo DiCaprio to win, I'm glad Matthew McConaughey won. Texas ftw.
dannramm113 - 3/2/2014, 9:18 PM
I knew Leo wouldn't win compared to Matt McConaughey and Chitiwa Ejiofor, but I was thinking Jonah Hill for best supporting actor. I guess Wolf of Wall Street was just too controversial for everything.
Ramiel - 3/2/2014, 9:18 PM
Leo got screwed again.
whoa123 - 3/2/2014, 9:21 PM

I really wanted Leo to win but McConaughey is deserving of it.
MexicanChinman - 3/2/2014, 9:21 PM
@0megaDaGod, I really doubt we would get a Black Lantern film even if Chiwetel won the Oscar.
NetmanTripleSec - 3/2/2014, 9:22 PM
They did a great job with the show tonight. I love Kevin Spacey and it was awesome that Matthew McConaughey won..."alright alright alright"...he is the man. I do want to see Leo win one year though...he deserves it.

I loved the music selection tonight... it was great to hear TASM, Cap, Avengers, Thor, and Indiana Jones.... Ford looked great BTW. Really hoping he does Star Wars 7 if there's a part for him. Also loved the heroes montage. Great stuff.

And I'm not usually much of a fan of Ellen Degeneres but she was genuinely pretty funny at some parts tonight.

All in all, great show.
manymade1 - 3/2/2014, 9:22 PM
Major Congrats to Alfonso and Spike. I'm a huge fan of both. Spike needs to direct The next Hulk film and I can see Cuaron doing Green Lantern or even JL if Snyder doesn't.
NetmanTripleSec - 3/2/2014, 9:23 PM
* they even got the JOHN WILLIAMS SUPERMAN theme in there, that was AWESOME!
MexicanChinman - 3/2/2014, 9:23 PM
*Black Panther

Damn you auto correct!
dannramm113 - 3/2/2014, 9:24 PM
Batman was only in one clip of the heroes montage! That pissed me off
PeterDarker121 - 3/2/2014, 9:25 PM
I second @MexicanSuperman's comment. I saw all of the Best Picture Nominees and I can't believe I agree with all of them.

I'm especially glad Cate Blanchett and Matt McConaughey won.

I feel that 'Almost Midnight' was robbed, but HEY......
PeterDarker121 - 3/2/2014, 9:26 PM
The 'Heroes' montage made me cry....can someone FIND that?
MexicanChinman - 3/2/2014, 9:26 PM
@NetmanTripleSec, the music and the montage of superhero films was great. I thought Ellen Degeneres tried to hard to be funny. I didn't hear the Dinner theme.
MexicanChinman - 3/2/2014, 9:28 PM
*Donner theme.

Damn you again auto correct.
BatManHeisenberg - 3/2/2014, 9:28 PM
I wanted Chitwel and Fassbender to win. However 12YAS WON, BITCHES!
yonny616 - 3/2/2014, 9:29 PM
dellamorte1872 - 3/2/2014, 9:32 PM
You realize Pitt finally won for producer? I def think Leo will follow suit. Colonel probably gave em all the idea
dellamorte1872 - 3/2/2014, 9:33 PM
Clooney^
PeterDarker121 - 3/2/2014, 9:37 PM
For all of those saying Fassbender and Co. should have won....they DID....by just being in tonight's elite company.

GREAT year for films....can I get a clink?

blackandyellow - 3/2/2014, 9:38 PM
McConaughey has come a long way since starring in all those romantic comedies in the 2000s. I can see him getting an Emmy for True Detective, too.
dellamorte1872 - 3/2/2014, 9:44 PM
Ill second that GRAVITY was a mediocre film with good special effects. Nothing else was that great
dellamorte1872 - 3/2/2014, 9:45 PM
And bullock? Anyone coulda played her part
ALmazing - 3/2/2014, 9:48 PM
Pretty good Oscars over all.

SpiderFraud - 3/2/2014, 9:50 PM
Im glad Her won for original screenplay and Gravity winning most the awards. I kinda wish Gravity would have won best picture but I get why it didn't.
PeterDarker121 - 3/2/2014, 9:51 PM

Hard Day's Night
Saturday Night Fever
Network
2001: A Space Odessey

Richard Pryor: Live in Concert

TheRationalNerd - 3/2/2014, 10:00 PM
Man, I really hope Leo gets that "Rasputin" film rolling soon. When are they going to start doing a superhero film award shows!? Now that would be dope! lol
Destined - 3/2/2014, 10:06 PM
They got it right tonight truly! I was rooting for Chiwetel but Matthew killed it in his role too. I'm immensely satisfied with these results!
typicalfanboy - 3/2/2014, 10:07 PM
this is relevant to comic book movies because sandra bullock was cast as lois lane in tim burtons superman lives, brad pitt, leo, and matthew mcconaughay were all considered for superhero roles according to fanboys, jennifer lawrence and fassbender, bale and amy adams all played comic book characters but were not nominated for said roles. excellent work turning this site into yet another piece of hollywood celebrity garbage. thanks, nailbiter111.
Nomis - 3/2/2014, 10:08 PM
This is getting stupid with Leo not winning an Oscar yet.

It's like how Martin Scorsese never got one for all his legendary movies that was nominated for and eventually got a "token" one for 'The Departed'.
PeterDarker121 - 3/2/2014, 10:13 PM
@ALmight

I agree
JamesMan - 3/2/2014, 10:17 PM
@crashrender

Funny that it's about a film award ceremony of high regard and it's mentioned on a site where "MOVIE" is in the [frick]ing title. Don't like it?

And neither does anybody else. If you're going to be a puckered anus about it then ignore the article.
TheAmbassador - 3/2/2014, 10:23 PM
Only saw Gravity, and I thought it was whatever. Visually stunning, yes, but not much else. Might watch 12 years tonight, but I feel like hammered shit and might only have enough energy to sit through True Detective.

Which, by the way, why is there never any True Detective articles?
Pending - 3/2/2014, 10:24 PM
Not bad at all, very pleased with the results.
JediSuperGuy83 - 3/2/2014, 10:27 PM
Gravity should've Won Best Picture happy for Wins Sad Leo,Adams,Fassbender and Lawrence Plus Michael Wilkinson(Man Of Steel) should 've won best costume design for American Hustle it was good I dont mind mcConaughey's win I like Jared Leto not so Much Hope Nolan's Interstelllar gives Sci-Fi its elusive best picture award its been overdue since 1972
TheAmbassador - 3/2/2014, 10:29 PM
Also, Leo will probably never win an Oscar unless he does something different. He has 2 skills as an actor: immensley charming, and freakout rage. Aside from Django, and I attribute that more to Tarantino's writing and directing, there's never been a time where I was thrilled by Leo's acting since he doesn't really immerse himself in rolls well enough. I can always see his passion for it, but I never can look past the fact that it's Leo doing his same routine in different rolls.

DiCaprio should take a page out of DDL's book and wait a year for something significantly substantial.
Mrcool210 - 3/2/2014, 10:29 PM
so with the exception of best directing gravity pretty much won in every category that really didn't matter. at least her won an award, that movie [frick]ing rocked. although i would still say WOWS was the best of last year
JediSuperGuy83 - 3/2/2014, 10:32 PM
Enough Freaking period films have one The best picture trophy
NetmanTripleSec - 3/2/2014, 10:37 PM
Yeah, Ellen was Ellen as usual and she did try a bit hard to be funny at times but some of her jokes were actually good tonight....I didn't like her as much as I liked Seth MacFarlane but there's no way he'd ever be allowed to host again, he was something of an anomaly, I see him as more deconstructionist as far as the Oscars go....Ellen was serviceable.
MDHENDRICKS - 3/2/2014, 10:43 PM
Gotta love rich hypocrites stroking each others egos.
