We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

BatManiac - 3/16/2014, 4:13 AM
Cool.

I'm looking forward to seeing Dane Dehaan's Green Goblin/Harry Osborn.
loki668 - 3/16/2014, 4:14 AM
He has feet!! It's confirmed!!
thalidomide - 3/16/2014, 4:23 AM
the cgi on those feet looks unfinished :P
Enphlieuwince - 3/16/2014, 4:27 AM
That's a cool looking poster...
venom0706 - 3/16/2014, 4:30 AM
What a mess... Blurred feet? Seriously guys? And Spidey just looks thrown up there. Love the marketing, but imo this poster looks terrible.
loki668 - 3/16/2014, 4:34 AM
This picture was taken shortly before the camera man suffered the double indignity of being decapitated by the Goblin and teabagged by Spidey.

So let's show some respect for this dearly departed soul:)

They're definitely promoting this film well. I hope that the final product is as successful.

Seeing that reminds of the Green Goblin battle in the Spider-Man movie(2002) tie-in game. Good memories.
SuperCat - 3/16/2014, 5:09 AM
I like this one.
batmanvsuperman - 3/16/2014, 5:13 AM
Its cool
demonizer84 - 3/16/2014, 5:23 AM
apart from some of the gaping plotholes in the first i did really enjoy it, and i recently watched the raimi ones and they are better than i remembered and i still enjoy them, the rhino doesnt bother me too much in this one, i think the 4 minutes are going to be the opening sequence, though im not sure how its gonna go from human chase to mecha rhino in that time, electro seems ok, its the goblin and that hair, it just looks so terrible and i imagine him talking like butters from southpark when he thinks hes a vampire
Danbojohnj - 3/16/2014, 5:35 AM
Is it confirmed that he is THE green goblin and not son of or proto?
dethpillow - 3/16/2014, 5:37 AM
@GoldenOne - you know those kind of look like Osborn's feet, i think.
you know? i'm starting worry u might have got me on this one.
cuz like you're saying what's with the day time chase?
total red herring.

but it might yet be a double red herring, a scarlet herring, if you will.

they're gonna make us crazy by the time this movie comes out.

MagicalGoat - 3/16/2014, 5:42 AM
Green Goblin is actually the name of a foot disease in this film.
BatManiac - 3/16/2014, 5:43 AM
I'm sure Harry Osborn is the first incarnation of the Green Goblin, and Norman will more than likely be the second.
dethpillow - 3/16/2014, 5:44 AM
i mean, if you really look at the feet.... sure, i guess they're feet.

if you say so, but that wouldn't be the first thing out of my mouth to call them.
they're doing a classic misdirection and not saying they're they're feet but making us think that someone said they are feet.

so we think, oh yeah, look at those feet. but no one said they are feet.
i don't see that on the poster. see what i mean?

they probably aren't feet at all. but something more insidious.

TheRealistStarLord - 3/16/2014, 5:48 AM
@goldenone33

I was hoping u would be all over-hyped up with cap locked letters and such. I am disappointed, mayne..
dethpillow - 3/16/2014, 5:48 AM
man this is gonna be a real shocker when it hits.

this trailer is gonna be gobblin up the hits on youtube, i bet.

they're really horning in on DOFP's glory. Singer's in a pretty harry situation, i bet. i wonder gwen we'll ever see a DOFP trailer. promo for that movie is really petering out, if i may be so bold to say.
BatManiac - 3/16/2014, 5:49 AM
I'm not the biggest fan of the Raimi movies, but I loved Dafoe's Green Goblin. He made the movie for me, so in my opinion, Dehaan has big shoes to fill.

Green Goblin is one of my favourite villains, so I hope Dehaan does the character justice.
dethpillow - 3/16/2014, 5:55 AM
@Batmaniac - yeah, i loved Dafoe as Goblin i've realized again recently. watched it a few months ago and wow, that was just great.

it's a shame about the costume, cuz Dafoe is one of the few actors that I think would definitely kill that role if given the chance to act out the Goblin transition with only a little bit of makeup. who needs a mask or CGI when you got crazy Willem Dafoe fully buying into the role and at his prime?

I still think it's a great performance, but seriously, not many actors would be able to pull that off and probably missed THE defining and classic Green Goblin portrayal, if Dafoe had just been left with a little makeup and his own talent to pull it off.
dethpillow - 3/16/2014, 5:59 AM
@Batmaniac - you're a big fan of DC also, yeah? what do u think of how Norman Osborn for a while was kinda becoming like a Marvel version of Lex Luthor?
I don't mind that kind of stuff at all, cuz it always ends up turning into a different character if it's well done, but it seems like Osborn was clearly being remodeled for a certain time there. and i've wondered what DC fans think of how Lex and Norman compare, like if they like them both... what the strong points of each one over the other are to them.
MrSotoMan - 3/16/2014, 6:04 AM
@Batmaniac- He does a good job, it's best not to compare them both when you see this movie, cause when you see it you'll realize that both of them are like completely different animals and one is more daring than the other.
MrSotoMan - 3/16/2014, 6:15 AM
@GoldenOne33- I don't remember Norman saying that line to be honest.
BatManiac - 3/16/2014, 6:15 AM
@Soto

Interesting. So, would I be correct to presume Dehaan's Goblin is the more daring?
thewolfx - 3/16/2014, 6:17 AM
[frick] that goblin n his greenass glider
MexicanSuperman - 3/16/2014, 6:17 AM
@demonizer84, what plot holes?
MrSotoMan - 3/16/2014, 6:17 AM
@Batmaniac- Maybe he is.
MightyZeus - 3/16/2014, 6:19 AM
That poster looks awkward.

I dont know if i should skip the trailer or submit myself to watching the 10th trailer for this movie?!!!
charlie2094 - 3/16/2014, 6:25 AM
Not a bad poster, be nice to get a better look at the Goblin though

Still really hope Norman does become the proper Green Goblin...think Dehaan will be great, but still hoping Norman has a part to play

Looking forward to the trailer! Marketing for the film has been great! Been stuff all the time! Reckon the film will be huge

People seem to forget that the average person who see's TASM2, won't have seen half the stuff we've seen visiting this site, they're just doing there best to get people as excited as possible
BatManiac - 3/16/2014, 6:28 AM
@Soto

Felicity Jones. Anything to say about her, or no comment?
BatManiac - 3/16/2014, 6:32 AM
@Dephpillow

I actually liked the costume haha, but I understand why people don't.

I'd say Norman and Lex share similarities, but now I think about it, DC are actually taking a page out of Marvel's book by having Lex join the Justice League at the moment, which kind of reminds me of the Dark Avengers, so I think they take from each other, but it works, you know?

They're both great characters, and they share similarities, but they're each unique in their own right.
dethpillow - 3/16/2014, 6:33 AM
@Batmaniac - yeah, i never like those kind of claims, going either way that one character was ripped or borrowed, cuz at the end of the day, we're always looking at not the initial germ of the character or any interpretation of them but at what they ended up becoming and usually once that's looked at, they aren't alike at all. it's a superficial debate as far as just that level.

it's still interesting to me tho, cuz it's maybe the closest we can get to any scientific examination of characters or concepts. like taking two similar things and seeing how they end up once they've grown thru each system.

i guess Norman and Lex aren't very fruitful in that sense cuz there was already too much history and defining elements in place, but there's never gonna be a perfect example. ha. they should do a contest like that... like give the same identical character to Marvel and DC and then in 10 years, check back in and see where each one had gone.it'd be interesting becuz the two publishers would obviously be aware of what each other was doing and going certain directions as a reaction. that'd be really fun to do.
MrSotoMan - 3/16/2014, 6:34 AM
@GoldenOne33- I kinda do, but I'm saying I don't remember Norman saying it.

@Batmaniac- Nothing really honestly, she's not Black Cat.
McNyagano - 3/16/2014, 6:39 AM
Can't wait for April guys. This is going to be Epic!!!
BatManiac - 3/16/2014, 6:46 AM
@Soto

That's a shame. It was confirmed she has a costume though, so is she anybody significant, and does she get in on the action?
McNyagano - 3/16/2014, 6:56 AM
@Batmaniac

She just meant like the clothes she would wear on set. Honestly she served nothing to the story. She should have been cut out. Meh
MrSotoMan - 3/16/2014, 6:56 AM
@Batmaniac- I was kind of hoping she wouldn't be Black Cat, the movie has a lot on it's plate and also Webb said that MJ was already too much for sighting future relationships.

@GoldenOne33- I think he did say it. Just a girl that Harry was with, like an opposite of Peter, Gwen was the light hearted blonde girl, along with Peter was the light hearted nerd character, but with Harry, he's brooding along with his girlfriend but they both seem like polar opposites.
