We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp...

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

concept art looks exactly like the movie footage. I think the cgi in the movie is too video game like. When I watch that part in the movie, it felt comp. generated. Best CGI is when you actually believe it. e.g rise of the planet of the apes, gravity, etc.

I loved the part where people were running up the stairs that had no outlet at the top, only to run back down the stairs.

Btw make sure when you are fleeing for your life, to always use the railing ;)

This movie was really good, but the whole peter parker searching for answers about his parents went on way too long and took away from other characters screen time that needed it like harry osborns. They did not even wrap up or mention anything about uncle bens killer, I guess he was never found, but it would be funny funny if that guy who shot uncle ben turned out to Mac Gargan aka scorpion in future installments.
ElWoofWoof - 5/2/2014, 1:11 PM
@richmont08

You mean it would be "convenient" if it turned out to be Scorpion, or any of the Sinister Six?

Because you know everyone in NYC is within 1 degree of separation and directly influences each other. These movies are barely scripted. It's more like improvisation. Amazing Spider-Man 1 should have been written while planning 2-4.

One obvious sign of this is the way Harry is introduced in Amazing Spider-Man 2. Think about this: If you had close friend whose family were billionaires, would you ever lose contact with that person? Case and point. The way the writers delegated what is worthy of explanation and foreshadowing is haphazardly.

Unfortunately the viewers get a shortsighted version of a beloved character in the Amazing Spider-Man 2, but are forced to love it.

Better yet, would Peter really have needed to sneak into Oscorp in TASM if he knew his dad's boss and was best friends with his son?

how many messages from dead people does this kid have and need?

Why would Oscorp build a Rhino shaped suit or choose Alexei of all people to pilot it?

Why did Oscorp murder the Parkers, frame Harry Osborn, cover up Max Dillon's accident but stop looking for Gwen as soon as she left the building?

Why do we need an exposition J.A.R.V.I.S?

I dont hate this film but I'm not a fan of Webb's style, he seems to get caught up in the wrong things. Would have been cool if the new suit was adopted specifically to fight with Electro
ElWoofWoof - 5/2/2014, 1:54 PM
@breakUbatman

It would have been better if the movie didn't blow its load in Times Square, and took a moment to look at the potential of Electro. Oscorp should be in the wake of a media frenzy after the Lizard incident. What if Oscorp adopted Electro as their own superhero. Their gift to NYC to protect them from Spider-Man...

Anything is better than what I watched...
Jtneagle - 5/2/2014, 2:37 PM
Look at that product placement in the Times Square concept art haha
MightyZeus - 5/3/2014, 12:37 AM
Interesting concept art.

Too bad the film did not live up to the hype.
ThrotTheUnclean - 5/3/2014, 12:04 PM
The look and design of the villains killed this series.
ComradeGrey - 5/3/2014, 4:41 PM
I loved the movie. People decrying it are likely just bitter that it didn't happen exactly the way "they would have done it." If you don't like it, get your ass to Hollywood.
