Possible First Look At Chewbacca For STAR WARS: EPISODE VII

May the fourth be with you! Yesterday, the Star Wars instagram account posted an image of Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger posing with a familiar Wookie. Might just be our first look at Peter Mayhew in his Star Wars VII designed Chewbacca costume.

Any way I doubt that Disney changes its design. But perhaps ready if it is really a costume film then those other character are.
xfan320 - 5/4/2014, 11:48 PM
I think this photo was taken at one of Bryan Singer's "parties" back in the day...

Singer promised young Chewie a role in his movies...
Knightrider - 5/4/2014, 11:48 PM
Sure hope he can remember his lines.

Why hasn't Chewbacca aged?
Inhuman - 5/5/2014, 12:21 AM
The best thing about discarding the EU is that Chewbacca doesnt die now!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!
Luminus - 5/5/2014, 12:21 AM
No news about "A Million Ways to Die in the West?" Dr. Emmett Brown is in the movie with the Delorean. Is it canon or just a wild joke?
Luminus - 5/5/2014, 12:34 AM
Okay, it's just a joke. Back to the Future III takes place in 1885, while this movie takes place in 1882.
Luminus - 5/5/2014, 12:35 AM
Link to the cast to prove it, since no online trailer shows the scene. It only plays in cinemas.

Laugh it up fuzzball!

Carrie Fisher is still very fat. And Harrison Ford really needed some fat reduction on his face before this got started.
It's going to suck to see the original trio look so old and unhealthy looking in the new films.

I think Disney should've invested in some minor facial work on Ford and Hamill and possibly a lap band or gastric bypass on Fisher.
Danbojohnj - 5/5/2014, 1:12 AM
Looks more like the real Chewie than the Revenge of the Sith version which always looked a little off to me.
Nubase - 5/5/2014, 1:37 AM
@ManDeth

The movie is set 30 years after the return of the jedi so naturally they will look old, plus fisher and hamill roles are not huge roles, it will have the same screen time as the original spock did in the rebooted star trek, its harrison ford who will have a bigger role.

Make no mistake gettting those 3 back is a masterstoke by abbrams, its a marketing dream for the movie
SuperioR23SupermaN - 5/5/2014, 1:42 AM
As long as Abrams doesn't put Carrie Fisher back in the gold bikini I don't care what they look like now
breakneckbeck - 5/5/2014, 1:57 AM

Why do some of you assume that wookies age at the same rate as humans?

For all we know Chewy can be in his mid 20's in wookie age & you guys want him to have a gray bush
pepe - 5/5/2014, 2:27 AM
No picture of Lando? Ya racist, S O B
pepe - 5/5/2014, 2:45 AM
Well, I didnt have high expectations when I saw TASM 2 yesterday... I stand korrekted... It suc*ed!!!!
charlie2094 - 5/5/2014, 2:47 AM
Well, it looks like Chewie! Did expect him to look a little older, but he's not human so doesn't matter all that much, looks great
MrChuff - 5/5/2014, 3:02 AM
Sorry to be a total geek but I feel I'm in the right company to do so - Isn't Chewbacca 300 years old in the OT anyway?
KidGoku - 5/5/2014, 3:07 AM
Pretty sure Abrams is going for the make-up route for the aliens rather than CGI like he did with Star Trek
awwriter - 5/5/2014, 3:12 AM
@ManDeth -

You are an idiot.

You are talking about people who range in age from 57 to freaking 72.

If you think Disney is going to suggest to Harrison freaking Ford that he get "some work done" you are out of your mind. Not that he needs it. He looks pretty darn good for a man who is, again, 72. He was on a late night talk show recently and the man looks dang good.

Carrie has lost a lot of weight - that cast picture of them sitting in a circle wasn't flattering for anyone, particularly since Carrie carries most of her weight in her chest these days. Look at other recent pictures. I'm sure since Lucas isn't involved she won't have to use gaffer tape this time, and I am sure knowing that her character is known for her outfits the world class costume team is going to make her look great.

Regardless, you cannot judge how someone is going to look in a feature film with lighting, costumes, makeup and filters from candid shots. They also are supposed to look old. Because they are. They are also the reason that this film is going to likely be the most successful film of all time. It would have done very well I am sure without them, but with them? I have family in their 60's and 70's as well who are really excited to go see this film because of it. They wouldn't have gone otherwise - they can't even watch the prequels.

We can talk when you are that age and see how much you look like you did when you were 20-30.
elib - 5/5/2014, 3:14 AM
I was hoping he'd look a little older but I'm cool if he doesn't. It's just good to see him back

I doubt Abrams had anything to do with it; Lucas and Kennedy got them on-board before Abrams had signed-up.

complaints about old people looking like old people, CBM commenter's continue to amaze me with there outstanding common sense.
TheBrownHornet - 5/5/2014, 4:36 AM
That damn Chewy! I really hope they get it right. Well, it is a Disney property now and they've been hitting it out of the park, lately!
MexicanChinman - 5/5/2014, 4:43 AM
Don't Wookies live for 400 years?
pepe - 5/5/2014, 4:53 AM
Whos the other wookie?

Chewie's looking great.

I wonder if Han Solo ever forgave Chewie.
Nytwng77043 - 5/5/2014, 6:07 AM
I think it's only fair that if the other returning characters change/age, so should Chewie. At least a few streaks of gray. After all, he didn't appear to age much from Ep III to Ep VI.
V8ER - 5/5/2014, 6:11 AM
Looks great. Maybe a little grey in the fur, but that's just a minor nitpick. And how old are you people who complain about their ages? 12? Grow up and give it a chance before you bash.
DrVenkman - 5/5/2014, 6:16 AM
He looks like a walking carpet!

Hahah- looking good Chewy. Looking forward to seeing you back in action. Hope you can still pull peoples arms out of their sockets!

@awwriter:

Thank you for your just and thoughtful reply to the idiot, @ManDeth.

@ManDeth, your "deth" will come one day, and before it does, if you are lucky, you will be old and whatever fine features you had long since faded. The kind of drivel you wrote on this thread is symptomatic of the ridiculous and pathetic society we live in.
