Before there was Batman, there was GOTHAM. Everyone knows the name Commissioner Gordon. He is one of the crime world’s greatest foes, a man whose reputation is synonymous with law and order. But what is known of Gordon’s story and his rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner? What did it take to navigate the multiple layers of corruption that secretly ruled Gotham City, the spawning ground of the world’s most iconic villains? And what circumstances created them – the larger-than-life personas who would become Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face and The Joker? GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. From executive producer/writer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist,” “Rome”), GOTHAM follows one cop’s rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil, and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time. Growing up in Gotham City’s surrounding suburbs, JAMES GORDON (Ben McKenzie, “Southland,” “The O.C.”) romanticized the city as a glamorous and exciting metropolis where his late father once served as a successful district attorney. Now, two weeks into his new job as a Gotham City detective and engaged to his beloved fiancée, BARBARA KEAN (Erin Richards, “Open Grave,” “Breaking In”), Gordon is living his dream – even as he hopes to restore the city back to the pure version he remembers it was as a kid. Brave, honest and ready to prove himself, the newly-minted detective is partnered with the brash, but shrewd police legend HARVEY BULLOCK (Donal Logue, “Sons of Anarchy,” “Terriers,” “Vikings,” “Copper”), as the two stumble upon the city’s highest-profile case ever: the murder of local billionaires Thomas and Martha Wayne. At the scene of the crime, Gordon meets the sole survivor: the Waynes’ hauntingly intense 12-year-old son, BRUCE (David Mazouz, “Touch”), toward whom the young detective feels an inexplicable kinship. Moved by the boy’s profound loss, Gordon vows to catch the killer. As he navigates the often-underhanded politics of Gotham’s criminal justice system, Gordon will confront imposing gang boss FISH MOONEY (Jada Pinkett Smith, “The Matrix” franchise, “HawthoRNe”), and many of the characters who will become some of fiction’s most renowned, enduring villains, including a teenaged SELINA KYLE/the future CATWOMAN (acting newcomer Camren Bicondova) and OSWALD COBBLEPOT/THE PENGUIN (Robin Lord Taylor, “The Walking Dead”).While the crime drama will follow Gordon’s turbulent and singular rise through the Gotham City police department, led by Police Captain SARAH ESSEN (Zabryna Guevara, “Burn Notice”), it also will focus on the unlikely friendship Gordon forms with the young heir to the Wayne fortune, who is being raised by his unflappable butler, ALFRED (Sean Pertwee, “Camelot,” “Elementary”). It is a friendship that will last them all of their lives, playing a crucial role in helping the young boy eventually become the crusader he’s destined to be.GOTHAM is based upon characters published by DC Entertainment and is produced by Warner Bros. Television. Executive producer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist”) wrote the pilot, which was directed and executive-produced by Emmy Award nominee Danny Cannon (the “CSI” franchise, “Nikita”). John Stephens will serve as an executive producer on the series.

Tuuralihn - 6/25/2014, 5:30 AM
I'll give this 3 episodes. 3 episodes to impress me.
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 6/25/2014, 5:52 AM
Really? Wow. I'm not even giving it a chance. The whole concept is stupid. Not to mention Gordon didn't move to Gotham until Bruce was already a man. [frick] this shit.
RorMachine - 6/25/2014, 5:53 AM
I love the open mindedness of fanboys.
rebellion - 6/25/2014, 5:55 AM
that looks cheap and poorly made
rebellion - 6/25/2014, 5:56 AM
@TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM .. really, that's your reason? i guess batman begins sucks too then
Doopie - 6/25/2014, 5:59 AM
It's just a different take on things as has been happening in comics since they began. I will give it a chance for sure. Some quality talent attached
batmanvsuperman - 6/25/2014, 6:00 AM
Really what about Nolan batman Bruce was a kid and he still put a coat over him as a child and told him everything was going to be okay..lol this show will be awesome and hopefully ben afflecks batman origin story
Doopie - 6/25/2014, 6:01 AM

UltimateHunt - 6/25/2014, 6:03 AM
CSI:Gotham

.
Alright, lets do this!
UltimateHunt - 6/25/2014, 6:06 AM
@doopie
NBC, Fox, CW, yeah I doubt it. But I have the feeling @ the end they will tie it. With some kind of dimension shit. Constantine is the one i have no idea what time it will be on. I know all shows are before man of steel. Gotham also (not shit lol)
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 6/25/2014, 6:06 AM
Being opened minded is one thing. I'm all for new things. But there's a point; A point where you must stop and ask yourself, "Why? This? Why? This is... No." And I hit that point when I saw this:

catwoman-gotham-set-3

Defend it all you want, but when the reviews come in, from people who don't suck the tit of twitter, there won't be much left standing of this rubbish.

Also, I'd just like to say, despite the few cheesy parts, The Flash pilot was muy bueno.
LubedUp - 6/25/2014, 6:14 AM
Looking forward to this about as much as wrinkles and a receding hairline.
DeathAdder - 6/25/2014, 6:18 AM
This is so stupid, I guess by the time Bruce becomes Batman in his late 20s early 30s, Two-Face, Penguin, Riddler, Joker and the rest will be in their late 40s early 50s, and Catwoman will be in her 40s. This will fail
Doopie - 6/25/2014, 6:20 AM
No-one knows how good or bad this will be. I hope for good and will give it a chance, if it turns out shit after 10 or more episodes I won't watch any more.

But! If the reviews come in and they are positive, will the people saying they're not interested give it a go I wonder?
Doopie - 6/25/2014, 6:22 AM
UltimateHunt

yeah asking for them to all be connected may be asking a bit much, especially as they are across different networks. It would be great but this is kind of uncharted waters in the TV world. I think the creators should be given a bit of time to find their feet at least
Mastyrwerk - 6/25/2014, 6:24 AM
Is anybody else kinda burned out of origin stories?

It tends to be my least favorite story for most characters.
Mastyrwerk - 6/25/2014, 6:25 AM
@ ultimatehunt

How about a Crisis on Infinite Networks?
Arrowhead77 - 6/25/2014, 6:38 AM
I will watch. It looks pretty good so far. Casting is top notch.
Mothchild - 6/25/2014, 6:41 AM
Can't view it.

I'm not judging until I see the show. At the moment I'm very optimistic it.
Arrowhead77 - 6/25/2014, 6:42 AM
@Deathadder, you do realise that Bruce and Selina are close to the same age in this, right?
DeathAdder - 6/25/2014, 7:04 AM
@Arrowhead77, well she's still older, and the popular villains like Riddler and the rest are going to be in walking canes and walkers by the time Bruce is Batman.
Nomis - 6/25/2014, 7:17 AM
I'm looking forward to it.

But I wish every TV show and or movie was about or have some connections to comics. ;)
Gusto - 6/25/2014, 7:21 AM
Ahh...looks ok.
feedonatreefrog - 6/25/2014, 7:25 AM
lol at people complaining about changes to the comics.

You do realize this happens in every single comic book adaptation ever, right?
yossarian - 6/25/2014, 7:27 AM
I need a powerade slush from Sonic.
feedonatreefrog - 6/25/2014, 7:27 AM
People complaining about young Selina are the same people who complain about not having Robin in the movies.
BigMikeReviews - 6/25/2014, 7:28 AM
I first read "FOX FAIL" at the bottom of the image...
DCGuy - 6/25/2014, 7:28 AM
so many hurt fan boys LOL bruce is 8-12 in the series, catwoman is older than him by less than 3 years, penguin, riddler & the others are barely in their twenty's so when bruce becomes batman they are in their mid 30 early fortys its not like batman battles them for 100 years wtf is wrong with people.
BlackestKnight - 6/25/2014, 7:36 AM
MEH. everything is so bland with Batman stuff. Except Joker, thank god for him. He saved me from losing interest in Batman.
BlackestKnight - 6/25/2014, 7:37 AM
Although this poster is pretty bright, so props to the editors.
Doopie - 6/25/2014, 7:37 AM
DCGuy is right. If Bruce is ten in the opening ep and becomes batman around 15 years later, the villains will only be 35-45 tops, not old geezers with hearing aids. People make it sound like they're as old as Gusto for christ's sake
BlackestKnight - 6/25/2014, 7:39 AM
DCGuy

Nothin bro. Ignorants will be Ignorant, thats the way they are.
BlackestKnight - 6/25/2014, 7:39 AM
Im pretty sure they were just trolling anyway
BlackestKnight - 6/25/2014, 7:40 AM
Did Doopie just drop one on Gusto oooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh
BlackestKnight - 6/25/2014, 7:40 AM
I think i could get a job as a spammer...
Doopie - 6/25/2014, 7:43 AM
CaptainSporty

I thought it was open season on that old bastard?
BlackestKnight - 6/25/2014, 7:43 AM
On point, Im still doubting this show. It just looks real... IDK i cant describe it.

But then again i didnt watch arrow until Barry Allen showed up so maybe if they do something with this ill watch.
