"Clara, be my pal and tell me - am I good man?" "I don't think I know who The Doctor is anymore." Interesting stuff indeed. The first episode of the new series is called "Deep Breath", and will apparently be feature length. Doctor Who returns on BBC One in the UK on Saturday, August 23, and a US premiere on BBC America is also expected for that date.

The feature-length premiere episode entitled “Deep Breath” will see Peter Capaldi take on one of TV’s most iconic roles as the Twelfth Doctor, alongside Jenna Coleman as his companion Clara.

Feature Length!!!!!!!!!!,YEAHHHHHHH!!, also interesting title
Mrcool210 - 6/27/2014, 12:55 PM
ooooh HOORAY!!!! Time to celebrate.

Mrcool210 - 6/27/2014, 12:57 PM
@Ezio i could have sworn he said "Clara be my pal"
storyteller - 6/27/2014, 12:57 PM
Doctor: Clara be my pal, tell me am I a good man.

Yeah keep forgetting Capaldi is able to turn on the evil/good without missing a beat.
EzioKenway1225 - 6/27/2014, 1:04 PM
mrcool-oh ok thanks, i didnt quite get it cause Capaldi seems to be keeping his natural scottish accent for it and i always have trouble with that,im glad we are getting an older doctor(John Hurt isnt really a official "Doctor") i really like Christopher Eccleston as The Ninth Doctor, really loved Tennant and especially Smith but Capaldi looks to be a different beast altogether
SupermanFan - 6/27/2014, 1:04 PM

FastFlames - 6/27/2014, 1:12 PM
Never seen an episode #likeigivea[frick]
gordonh7 - 6/27/2014, 1:17 PM
I bet you they are saving the main trailer for comic-con. Even though it is a british show and we should be the first ones to see it.
SuperDude001 - 6/27/2014, 1:20 PM
gordonh7 @ It was announced yesterday they are doing NO comic-con panel. Any promotion/advertising is gonna be through a "World Tour" Capaldi, Moffat, and Coleman are doing. So the trailer will probably be like in the past and just come a week or two before the episode online.
CosmicLord - 6/27/2014, 1:21 PM
"I don't know who the Doctor is anymore"

Valeyard incoming!

@gordonh7
Well, there won't be a Doctor Who panel on this year's Comic-Con but I expect them to release a new trailer by that time on their YouTube channel.
McGee - 6/27/2014, 1:21 PM
Now all he needs is to wear a Turban.
Gamera623 - 6/27/2014, 1:24 PM
FANTASTIC!!!
SuperDude001 - 6/27/2014, 1:25 PM
And I know this regeneration is in place for Valeyard and Capaldi's said to be a more dark and rebellious Doctor...but frankly does anyone believe that he'll be more serious? I mean I have no doubt in his ability to play that, just almost every season since Tennant arrived we hear that about the Doctor and it just turns out he has a serious moment and then back to adventurous character...
Gusto - 6/27/2014, 1:32 PM
McGee's ass is kinda like a Tardis.
McGee - 6/27/2014, 1:36 PM
^^ Everything this man says is true!
KrazyForKomix - 6/27/2014, 1:36 PM
Is that what that smell is?
EzioKenway1225 - 6/27/2014, 1:39 PM
superdude-yeah the adventuruos and humorous side is a part of all the doctors in their own ways
Gusto - 6/27/2014, 1:39 PM
LMFAO! Idiots!!!!
SuperDude001 - 6/27/2014, 1:42 PM
EzioKenway1225 @ I know, I like that about the Doctor. I'm just saying people always say before a season starts "Ohh he's gonna be so much darker" or "time for a grittier more serious Doctor" and I just don't understand that - yes that can happen, but they're not going to get the Doctor as we know if so and therefore no major 'darker' tone will ever happen as it's always a family show. The darkest people will get is something like the end of Tennant's period as the BBC/writers aren't as creative as the classic series and just have to keep the same formula.
McGee - 6/27/2014, 1:44 PM
Step inside my ass...for a magical adventure across space and time!
Dandy - 6/27/2014, 1:47 PM
CAN"T WAIT!

McGee - 6/27/2014, 1:47 PM
If Gusto says he'll let the monkeys loose....he will.

EzioKenway1225 - 6/27/2014, 1:49 PM
superdude-i have not seen much classic era,i have seen some of it,im a more modern doctor who fan but i can understand where u are coming from but idk,im not expecting a doctor who is insane and murderer but someone who is myabe bit more ruthless and manipulative but we will see,i also like the humorous side of the doctor, what did u think of Chris Eccleston, David Tennant and Matt Smith?
EzioKenway1225 - 6/27/2014, 1:55 PM
doctor who has had its dark moments but is a fun family adventure show at its core ,to me atleast
EzioKenway1225 - 6/27/2014, 1:58 PM
also it looks like the interior of the TARDIS has changed a little , not much
Gusto - 6/27/2014, 2:03 PM

LMFAO!!!!! I remember that one!!!!!
SuperDude001 - 6/27/2014, 2:08 PM
EzioKenway1225 @ Oh I haven't seen much of the Classic either, more a Modern/Revival fan too, just from what I have they seemed a little less strict on forumala that todays. Ruthless and manipulative is what I hope for in terms of darker Doctor, maybe a little bit of rage similar to Tennant's, I was just pointing out a lot of people seem to hope for more than that every time. Mostly I just want a more sophisticated joyful adventurer like Tennant's and less of a 'woo let's poke it with a stick' adventurer like Smith's. And...
Eccleston - liked Nine, highly under-rated, but did only need one season as his regeneration was heavily just to introduce the revival of the show and effect of the Time War. If Eccleston/writers did continue I think it would've done a lot better to show him a bit more domestic and less plot-heavy.
Tennant - one of the best, great writing, and even better that his personality does have normal flaws (e.g. tad ugly arrogance, bit of a quick although mild temper, etc. but still charming), but no new Doctor should try and copy his style. He was born for the Doctor, but I do think future writers should try and go back his his era's formatting of story arcs and episodes that had both filler-episode feels and story arc touches to them at the same time.
Smith - one of the best actors, but given awful material to work with. Not saying I dislike his era, but his Doctor had almost become a repetitive caricature of himself. Way too reliant on the Tardis and screwdriver, like I enjoyed him and it's use, but my favourite episodes do tend to be those that really show off the Doctor's ability without his common gadgets (like Smith's first episode or Tennant's 'Midnight').
You?
BlindJustice - 6/27/2014, 2:12 PM
I've loved Doctor Who since I was watched the 4th Doctor on TV at my Grandparents' house. They didn't get many channels on their TV, but they did get PBS...so I got plenty of exposure to British comedy. Benny Hill and Monty Python's Flying Circus were my favorites.

I can't wait for this season though. We finally get to see who the REAL Doctor Who fans are.
EzioKenway1225 - 6/27/2014, 2:22 PM
Superdude-i really liked Eccleston and Tennant,i dont necessarily agree with Smith having awful material, sure some episodes were much better then others but i think Smith was always on top form
RetroFit - 6/27/2014, 2:25 PM
"People think I've got the power 'cause I've got the monkeys.
Nope! I've got the power 'cause I'll let the monkeys loose."

Classic! That, Salty Ham and My Pen! are 3 of my favourite skits.

EzioKenway1225 - 6/27/2014, 2:30 PM
superdude-smith brought a childlike wonder to the role, he was fascinated with everything but u saw his dark side and anger come out too, he was a young man with the soul of an old man ,i know Capaldis doctor will have influences of the 3rd Doctor, especially with the red lining in the jacket but Capaldi has said the 3rd doctor was his favorite but actually the 3rd doctor is my least favorite not because i think Jon Pertwee does a bad job or anything, he is quite good, he is a more serious,no nonsense arrogant doctor but he is also alot like James Bond, he has gadgets and knows martial arts and that just isnt the type of doctor i care for,i much prefer The Doctor using his brains then his brawns
CyberBishop - 6/27/2014, 3:20 PM
Clara where in the fu@kity fu@kity is my Tardis...
