And just for fun, here's their review of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) movie.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Guardians of the Galaxy stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014.

CookieKid247 - 8/2/2014, 7:17 PM
There. We're all standing. Bunch of jackasses. - Rocket.
marvel72 - 8/2/2014, 7:22 PM
my most anticipated comic book since it was announced at comic con 2012,its very good it wasn't perfect but worthy of the 4/5 score.

rocket & groot stole the movie & the 1st full appearance of thanos in a cameo role was good as well.
AlexanderLykins - 8/2/2014, 7:23 PM
I've seen it 3 times and I can't get enough. I don't know what it is about the movie. The only connections I feel to the rest of the MCU in the movie are The Other and The Collector. Everyone else feel like this brand new thing. It's so darn refreshing.
marvel72 - 8/2/2014, 7:25 PM
@ AlexanderLykins

& thanos.
ATrueHero1987 - 8/2/2014, 7:26 PM
I just saw this movie earlier and I must say....it's AMAZING!!

Seriously, this movie had everything. To mean, it's the best Marvel movie this year, one of the best movies period this year. To me, it's just as great(if not better) than The Avengers!!

SPOILER:

I been saying this since the beginning but I said Drax would find out that Thanos killed his family and not Ronan....and I was right!!
Hellboy6666 - 8/2/2014, 7:27 PM
First off this Orca add is driving me bat shit crazy.
Second this movie is amazeballs. I loved everybody in it. Vin you did it again "we are groot" is the new "superman"...at least for me. Loved it.
AlexanderLykins - 8/2/2014, 7:28 PM
The overall Infinity series of stories that is being developed in the MCU needs to get going though. I don't want Guardians of the Galaxy to carry all of the weight of Marvel cosmic but I think that's what will end up happening.
AlexanderLykins - 8/2/2014, 7:29 PM
@marvel72
His CGI was so jarring to me that I persnoally don't count him. We didn't really see the real Thanos in Marvel's The Avengers. As far as I'm concerned, he's brand new to me.
marvel72 - 8/2/2014, 7:30 PM
@ AlexanderLykins

& the dark elve.
AlexanderLykins - 8/2/2014, 7:33 PM
@marvel72
I mean actual characters. There are certainly a few Easter eggs in the movie that connect all the movies.

-The Chitauri
-The Dark Elf
-The Tesseract
-The Aether

AlexanderLykins - 8/2/2014, 7:40 PM
Also, apparently in the post-credits scene we see the cocoon from Thor: The Dark World broken open. Can anyone confirm this?
Amazing512 - 8/2/2014, 7:43 PM
I really just f***ing loved this film. I'm ready to see it again already. 4.5/5
Amazing512 - 8/2/2014, 7:45 PM
I think what I loved most about the film other than how well written the characters were and how they all had strong backstory is how even without connections to the rest of the MCU, this could honestly be a franchise all on its own with its own universe.
Gunn just knocked it out of the park.
IronMountaineer - 8/2/2014, 7:49 PM
@AlexanderLykins just got back from it, not sure about the cacoon, I was too busy laughing at the other "broken case."

Also, I gotta respectfully disagree with you on Thanos, I thought he looked and sounded awesome, I mean maybe a slightly different purple, but let's be honest, all we had before was the side of his face, it's the same character
CaptainAmerica1945 - 8/2/2014, 7:57 PM
I was a bit disappointed. After all the great reviews, I did not feel it lived up to the great ratings. I would give it a 7.5 or 8 out of 10. (and I think CATWS was still a better film). But that's my opinion.
FordEl - 8/2/2014, 7:59 PM
@CaptainAmerica1945

An 8 doesnt sound disappointing at all...
UltimateHunt - 8/2/2014, 8:04 PM
they posted this days ago.

i think Jeremy Jahs deserves an article too BTW.. hes the #1
UltimateHunt - 8/2/2014, 8:04 PM
@Amazing
me too! :)
ATrueHero1987 - 8/2/2014, 8:05 PM
I can see why they announced a sequel already for this movie. It's just that great. Hopefully we will get a Black Panther, Hulk sequel, and a Nova movie before Avengers: IG! :)
AlexanderLykins - 8/2/2014, 8:07 PM
@IronMountaineer
I just fear when he has to be around actual actors. It's going to look weird.
AztecaAguilar04 - 8/2/2014, 8:10 PM
Saw it last night, It was just simply f**king awesome haha. I can easily say this is the best movie from Marvel Studios to date, Yes way I mean way better than Avengers. It felt fresh as hell, I didn't think it'd be this damned good but James Gunn, The actors and Visuals really nailed it. And props should be given to them, As I walked out of the movie the sexy worker at the door lol asked me and my homies, Hey so did you guys like it. I respond hell yeah, It was way better than Avengers! She simply dropped her has and looked at her co-worker and replied Nah! Are you serious? I smiled damn right it was worth the ticket price too. She just laughed, And my buddies thought the same as I did. Guardians was just a fun ride, Avengers can take a seat now lol. There's a new team in town. I easily give this movie a 5 out of 5, If you haven't seen it yet. Do yourself a favor go watch it now.u
IronMountaineer - 8/2/2014, 8:11 PM
@AlexanderLykins I see your concern with that, but I'm sure they'll make it work, same as the hulk, which is about as good as you can do with characters like that
AztecaAguilar04 - 8/2/2014, 8:12 PM
Dropped her Jaw* Damn autocorrect lol.
AlexanderLykins - 8/2/2014, 8:15 PM
@IronMountaineer
I thought the Hulk was beautiful. ILM did the CGI for the Hulk and I hope the CGI for Thanos will improve.
AztecaAguilar04 - 8/2/2014, 8:16 PM
Next up is Sin City 2, Hopefully it's as great as the first. That one was awesome, Also if Ninja Turtles is as great as some early reviews say? I might check that one out too, Also Interstellar and The Hobbit damn this year is going out with a bang haha.
ChowdaHead - 8/2/2014, 8:38 PM
Only real problem was gamora getting apprehended by inmates so easily that it took away from her character being deadly. Gamora and drax were way underpowered
ChowdaHead - 8/2/2014, 8:49 PM
one minute not even groot can contain her with his strength then the next 3 weak looking inmates get the best of her, only so we can get to the scene where drax more or less introduces himself. inconsistent characterization in film drives me nuts. if your going to constantly remind me how deadly gamora is, then dont diminish that 5 minutes afterwords and expect me to just buy it. great movie still but definitely dont want gunn to get hired for Avengers 3 unless Joss is there to patch up the script
ChowdaHead - 8/2/2014, 8:54 PM
i still say Iron Man 2008 holds the crown, then Avengers, then Guardians followed by cap 2 and so on. i never felt taken out of the avengers. really consistent characterization. didnt like how iron man could womp on thor but at least they remained consistent.
TheBrownHornet - 8/2/2014, 9:35 PM
GOTG was THE movie this year. I had no problems with Ronan as the villian. Maybe I understand the Kree and Skrull just a little bit. I understood his motivation but not everyone knows about it. Well, that is my dick message for the night. Seeing it again!!!
ThePowerCosmic - 8/2/2014, 9:40 PM
Just came back from my second viewing...even better! I caught more stuff I missed and was able to focus more as the first time I was so focused on the visual beauty I missed some stuff! I saw the Chitauri this time!
ThePowerCosmic - 8/2/2014, 9:41 PM
Anybody think the Other is dead or did Ronan just knock him out? I think he killed the son of a bitch!
ChowdaHead - 8/2/2014, 9:42 PM
Other is so dead.
novaprime - 8/2/2014, 9:43 PM
That it was good in james gun vision but I expected alot more action from starlord and Drx! and I ayleast wanted a richard rider and a Annihilis Reference!!!!
ThePowerCosmic - 8/2/2014, 9:44 PM
Chiwdahead

He talked a big game in The Avengers...but I guess no match for the Univesal weapon. It was funny how he dropped!
blakkvi2012 - 8/2/2014, 9:48 PM
@CaptainAmerica1945 so..8 out of 10 is a bad thing?
ChowdaHead - 8/2/2014, 10:05 PM
Epic scene my friend
ChowdaHead - 8/2/2014, 10:07 PM
i just wish gamora was written consistently because she was my fav in the film
CaptainAmerica31 - 8/2/2014, 10:13 PM
GOTG and DOFP owned this year. Two of the best CBMs in awhile. But I still think DOFP is better, it fits my taste more
BlinkyStark - 8/2/2014, 10:14 PM
1. Winter Soldier
2. GOTG
3. ASM 2
4. DOFP
