In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Chris Cooper, Paul Giamatti, Colm Feore, Sally Field, and Chris Zylka, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to be released on DVD and Blu-ray later this month.

Say whatever you want about my comment, but I think they shouldn't have deleted that scene. It was important to develop the character a little more. Yes, Max was a bozo Spidey fanboy, but it looks like an interesting character if we take a look at his back story, besides, the fact his mom forgot his birthday is one of the reasons for him to become a villain (I'd get really angry, but I would not become a villain and kill everyone), I'm not pleased with his reason to hate Spidey anyway...

They should of had all the deleted scenes in the final version, then take out some of the serious stuff, maybe we could of had a B&R type thing going on. Could of been a full on mess with camp, and then earned the title of "so bad its good."

Now we're just stuck with a forgettable movie with annoying scenes sprinkled threw out a Rom-Com.

Is it bad that I keep watching this film just to laugh at the S6 setup?
TheAbaryMan369 - 8/18/2014, 6:15 AM
Phew, I was worried they deleted a whole bunch of important and really great scenes...

Nope.

Why?

Seriously... Electro would have been a more dimensional character if he was just a bad guy wanting money or something.

This back story is worse than Sandman's in Spider-man 3.

It's everybody working on this movie forgot how to make one just before they started production.

What a shitfest

Since the movie had no idea what it was doing, or any idea how to do whatever it would eventually figure out it was doing, I would've liked to have seen this scene in the movie. It does work to ground Max's lonelines in a somewhat realistic way. All the douchebaggery that went on at Oscorp made no sense, and still didn't do much to hit home that Max had a crappy life. Plenty of people get shit at their jobs, but the way they handled his personal life removed all the sympathetic aspects that would've actually made you feel sorry for him. At many points I wasn't sure if I was supposed to feel bad for him or laugh at his goofiness. Never a good idea for your 'main' villain

@DCGuy, I'm happy to discuss this privately through email if you like.

@RorMachine I replied to the notice from my email that the article was deleted is that the email?

His character was out of balance with the rest of the film. His child-like and retarded demeanor was over the top. Spider-man tells him, like he's a 5 year old; "Your my eyes and ears out here" and he takes it literally and becomes a villain when he realizes Spider-man doesnt know who the [frick] he is.

Worst villain origin ever. "YOU LIED TO ME" speaking of which....
