Scoot McNairy's BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DOJ Role Revealed?

Ever since those set snaps of McNairy sporting a pair of green socks popped up online fans have frantically speculated as to which DC character he might be playing. The Flash? Metallo? Captain...Green Legs? An extra from the set may have shed some light..

The website The Devils Eyes claims to have received some info from an extra on the set of Zack Snyder's currently shooting Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, pertaining to the character Monsters actor Scoot McNairy will play in the film. When those odd pics of McNairy appeared online, many assumed he'd be The Flash because he had CG friendly green socks on, and The Flash...runs fast? There's also been rumors that he could be playing the likes of Metallo or Dr. Will Magnus. Well, it seems the theory that he'd be portraying someone who lost his legs in the battle of Metropolis is the most accurate -- though that someone WILL apparently be an established DC character.

"Scoot is playing Jimmy Olsen, but with a bit of a twist. Jimmy was injured during the battle of Zod vs Superman. His legs where pinned under falling building rubble and that caused him to lose the legs. He now walks with the use of two prosthetic legs." The source goes on to add "He doesn't blame Superman for it [his loss of legs]. He feels grateful that Superman saved the world."

Maybe not quite as cool as some of the other possibilities, but it'll be nice to have Jimmy Olsen make an appearance, and this sounds like a very interesting way to introduce his character. Of course we don't know for certain if this is on the level, but it does seem like the most logical explanation for those snazzy socks at the very least. Thoughts?

Superspecialawesomeguy - 8/28/2014, 4:27 AM
That actually sounds pretty cool
Moohika - 8/28/2014, 4:28 AM
Never cared for Jimmy Olsen, so this twist seems refreshing.
clement445 - 8/28/2014, 4:29 AM
wanted him to be the flash but okay
DrKinsolving - 8/28/2014, 4:29 AM
If this is true, I'm guessing, STAR Labs may have given him his new legs

@Moohika

it makes sense... who would have thought it was jimmy -_-
Zeek - 8/28/2014, 4:41 AM
After all that intrigue, that's a bit crap. But it makes sense from everything we've heard about the story and from Scoot.
Not really interested in Jimmy having screentime with so many other characters to introduce.
Maia87 - 8/28/2014, 4:42 AM
Lol cyborg Jimmy Olsen.
DIAMONDZ - 8/28/2014, 4:44 AM
Flash, Metallo, and now Jimmy Olsen?

LMAO, what's next?
Insomnia - 8/28/2014, 4:44 AM
This is something i actually can buy allthough it will (if this is true) strange to see Jimmy older then Supes
AreTudaEDub - 8/28/2014, 4:48 AM
I really love the diversity of this production....the world seems to be populated accurately by all types of "real" people. Most anticipated film ever for me. Let's see how the pacing will be this time around.
SnapperCarr - 8/28/2014, 4:50 AM
I really don't want an older Jimmy. I wish he was still part of the Daily Planet. He would've provided a grounded perspective that the movie needed.

But I'll wait and see.
GarthRanzz - 8/28/2014, 4:53 AM
Hope Rocket doesn't get stranded on the DCU earth in the future for Jimmys sake.
vinomonster - 8/28/2014, 4:53 AM
So he will have a recurring role for future Man of Steel movie(s)?
GliderMan - 8/28/2014, 4:53 AM
Good.
AlfredWayne30 - 8/28/2014, 4:54 AM
If true that's not a bad twist
Nitric - 8/28/2014, 4:54 AM
Wait I thought they did a female version of jimmy Olsen in man of steel?
thunderforce - 8/28/2014, 4:55 AM
Not liking this it sounds like the gritty world of the DCCU .
Doopie - 8/28/2014, 4:55 AM
I wonder if he'll die only for it to be revealed that he has a younger bro, also called jimmy

Sometimes the simplest explanations are the most accurate and true
MrAmeriBrit - 8/28/2014, 4:59 AM
They weren't kidding when they said no jokes lol
CherryBomb - 8/28/2014, 4:59 AM
If it's true then interesting.
He's a boring character, so this twist seems like a good move.
SuperCat - 8/28/2014, 5:02 AM
No.

StarYeezus - 8/28/2014, 5:03 AM
The Flash speculation was dumb. Who runs with only the lower half of their legs? That would look ridiculous.
TheDarkKnightRises - 8/28/2014, 5:04 AM
If this is true, I was close

I thought he was hank henshaw in the same circumstances but he works on robotics and works for lexcorp, with the aid of star labs recreates his legs, then helps luthor build metallo . Links to cyborg rather than
cyborg superman
SuperDude001 - 8/28/2014, 5:07 AM
While I think he'd be an amazing Jimmy Olsen (at least the chemistry between him and Cavill/Adams) I don't believe. I'm not saying he's the Flash, but I don't get why he'd be a character with prosthetic legs? The green socks and positioning of his trousers show they're definitely on display and in use, but why would any person with prosthetic legs not just have them under his trousers? What reason would he have to show them off halfway? Even if just revealed for a moment, you wouldn't need that much CGI on a leg...I'm not saying it's not possible, he'd be great, but I just can't get my head around this...
NeoBaggins - 8/28/2014, 5:07 AM
Sounds kinda retarded.
DIAMONDZ - 8/28/2014, 5:08 AM
Wait, where did this Will Magnus shit come from?
