Robert Kirkman Teases A "Deadly" THE WALKING DEAD Midseason Finale Robert Kirkman Teases A "Deadly" THE WALKING DEAD Midseason Finale

Only 2 episodes to go until AMC's zombie drama takes a break for the holidays, and we know to expect a few shocks here and there. Find out what the show's exec producer had to say to THR about that, and be sure to take our "who's next for the chop" poll while you're at it.

Last night's ep of The Walking Dead was a slow-burner for sure, but there was plenty of interesting character moments for two of the show's most popular bad-asses; Daryl and Carol. The end saw Carol knocked down and captured by the hospital folk, and Noah returning to the church with Daryl to regroup and plan a rescue. It looks like we're in for another human-to-human stand-off, but Robert Kirkman reckons it won't be anything like the previous ones. "This confrontation is definitely going to be substantially different from the confrontation with The Governor or Gareth," the comic creator and show executive producer tells THR. "We do continue to evolve these human-to-human conflicts in very interesting ways and this is no different. There's going to be some pretty unexpected events in our midseason finale, which is as it should be. On scale of one to 10, I'd say [the midseason finale is] pretty deadly." As per usual with The Walking Dead, it sounds like at least one of our main characters won't be back after the break, but who could it be? Take our poll below and then sound off in the usual place.

Like someone pointed out in the other article, these "human-to-human conflicts" are getting too repetitive.

S3 - attack on Woodbury

S4 - attack on Prison

S5 - attack on Hospital

Not to mention everything in between with Joe, the Hunters/Terminus, etc.... Once they get to Alexandria the whole running into bad groups, splitting up for bottle episodes and characters getting captured needs to stop. It's been a great season so far, but a lot of what it's leading up to is the same ol' stuff. Maybe just handled better this time.

Anyone who read the comics know Rick'll die.

I wish this show was written more like GoT so that no particular character recieves anh special favour/definitely wont die just because they're a fan favourite I'd give them so much props if they killed off Daryl

I used to hate Carol but damn, they really changed her around and Melissa McBride absolutely kills the role. It's upsetting because I've been watching since the beginning and you just don't want anybody to die, it's like building a relationship with somebody over the years and you don't want them to die. I was never a TV drama guys, I grew up watching Friends, Fresh Prince and other sitcoms and this is my first drama show so It's hard to watch someone die on this show. Don't even get me started on when Hershel died.

I have to be honest i've been bored after Beth's episode.

Just go back to Rick and the group.

I like the human battles, seems like they're way more of a factor than the zombies now, which would probably be the case in a real zombie apocalypse...

I don't understand some people. Human to Human conflict is what the story is all about. Somehow in this new horrible world the group has to learn how to live on. If this show was nothing but people killing zombies this show wouldn't have made it past three episodes. Everyone needs to come to terms with this story being about living in a world with zombies in it, and how to best rebuild civilization with them in the background. This has been the best season yet.

I think it's Carol. I HOPE that's all, but it probably isn't.

I also hope it's not Beth, although her being stuck in that [frick]ing nazi work campitol is like a snowflake in hell. She is in just as much jeopardy as Carol when you stop and think about it.

I said before that I didn't mind so much that this epi didn't have as many 'splosions because I enjoy seeing the Darryl and Carrol team up so much. Besides, there was a lot going on in this episode even without all the violence and such.

Last time I checked, 'deadly' isn't between 1 and 10.

@LoudLon, I also thought the Van scene was pretty fail.

I mean, we clearly see the Van tipping forward as it falls but it's able to right itself and land on its wheels? This was just poorly shot. It looked like they were like, well this is all we shot that day, so we have to go with it.

And Carol getting hit by the car was kind of a stupid way to get her in the hospital... We knew she had to get hurt to get in there, but I was thinking maybe she would get hurt badly enough in the Van drop that Daryl would be carrying her and finally have to leave her to defend himself and she gets picked up by the hospital people.

Now I'm curious what Rick plans to do to get these two women back.. I mean he's just straight up chopped some guys to death, into pieces, do we think he's going to try to reason with these people? lol It's going to be another bloodbath, I'm not complaining, but the hospital people don't all seem to be bad, but they're going to get straight up murdered by rick and co.

I don't follow the comics, so I don't know what happens, but this episode felt quite boring, and so did the last 2. I don't think they should go so long with these branch-off episodes without going back to the main group.

I thought Beth's episode was kinda boring, but interesting to see where she was and how that was going. Then Eugene's episode I knew would suck, because I knew that the whole washington thing was a lie from the beginning, anyone who believed it wasn't has to be an idiot, so that wasn't a revelation or surprise and now we have Daryl and Carol talking about essentially nothing in a whole episode I mean come on.

This show is about Rick and his group, not the splintered group and Rick comes to save the day. We still have Morgan to deal with, who will most likely come into play in the last two episodes prior to the break, but overall they need to really put in a strong next episode or I'm going to be disappointed because it seems like they've just dragged their feet to the mid-season finale other than the episode where they kill the termites in the church. Which, I have to say was one of the best episodes.

But yeah, Carol getting hit by the one car moving in the entire freaking city? I mean, come on...that's lazy writing. Love how Noah could hold Daryl back from going after Carol... considering Noah is weak..and has a limp and Daryl is about to lose one of the people he cares about most, he would laugh as he knocked Noah out and then shot those two cops in the head. But, we needed her in the hospital..so whatever.

I did kind of feel the same as other people complaining about oh here we go, another big build up to fighting another group. It's like, when are we going to realize that Rick and his group are no better than the other people they kill that are just trying to survive. Rick's son has murdered someone, straight up shot them in the face for no reason, Rick has done some pretty terrible things himself, who knows what Michonne has done to the guys who let her baby die lol. We know she cut their arms off and ripped their jaws out.

Daryl is oddly one of the more humane people, but he was willing to just let Noah get eaten last night, these people aren't "good" anymore, and im not sure how much longer we can root for this group to keep murdering other groups without feeling like bad people ourselves.

As another great AMC character put it, "I am the danger!" Rick and his group have now turned into the danger in this post apocalyptic world.

I don't think the problem with this show is it is becoming human vs human, it's just it's becoming more of what most of the CBM shows do, a villain of the week or couple of episodes.

ever since they killed off the governor the newer bad guys either don't last long or stack up to how great or interesting blake was (example the claimers and gareth). This show needs to go back to an endgame scenario with the villain much like the gov (still say he got poorly handled, if these hospital people are the new evil they've been piss poor, season 5 could've easily continued with gov's story had they not written his arc into a corner)

To many people in here think they're opinon matters and that long paragraphs of what you think you should be watching will make writers/directors/actors realize that maybe the show actually does suck because this one person is so disappointed... I'll give you a hint everypne put together who complains it's a bad show don't add up to be even 1%. so if you don't like it please keep to yourself why you don't. No one wants to read pointless poop talk.

too many of these characters are supposed to already be dead, but with this show who knows. I think it will be Ty sacraficing himself for Sash. I saw someone say these "human to human" contacts are too much. It's the zombie freakin apocalypse what do you want them to do, tickle fights? this isn't a Disney story. Read the comics, thats all it is.

Tyresse, his sister, the preacher, Everybody Hates Chris, Beth, Abraham's f*ck buddy, and Glenn's Lezbro are all canon fodder.

FTR, Glenn's Lezbro is one of my favorite characters on the show. She rose above govenor's nonsense and was able to move on and find meaning in living in this new world with strangers. She's cool and badass.

I could see Carol and Beth dying. For once making one of Rick's rescue missions a complete failure.
