Emma Watson Passes On CINDERELLA

We heard that the Harry Potter/Perks Of Being A Wallflower actress was in talks to star as the titular heroine in Disney's live action version of the classic tale, but according to Variety she has declined to accept the role.

This may leave many fans disappointed, as I don't think we've had a more spot-on piece of casting in some time - but as you can see from the below Tweet from Variety's Marc Graser, the lovely Emma Watson won't be playing Cinderella in Disney's live action adaptation, which has Thor helmer Kenneth Branagh lined up to direct.

We don't have any more details right now, but apparently scheduling conflicts were always a possibility so perhaps that's the reason Watson was forced to pass. The movie still has Cate Blanchett attached to play the Wicked Stepmother, and Gabriella Wilde (The Three Musketeers), Imogen Poots (Fright Night) and Alicia Vikander (Anna Karenina) were all up for the lead role at one point too so perhaps the glass slipper will pass to one of them now.

That's sad. I thought she was perfect for the character. Can't honestly think of anyone to do it now. She was just so perfect... oh and please no one from the twilight series.
AlexTheKaiser - 3/11/2013, 8:32 PM
Oh c'mon, she accepts the perks of being a loser but rejects a film by Kenneth Branagh?

I didn't liked the perkfs of being a whatever because it was bland, boring, the characters were annoying, it was predictable, and the movie was screaming "look, I'm deep, I have a meaning!", she was the best part of the whole thing. It felt like she was trying to improve her career by starring in an obscure film that nobody will care about in 6 months.
JatevinM - 3/11/2013, 9:53 PM
AlexTheKaiser@ Well thats your opinion and your allowed to have it.

Isn't there already going to be a sequel to huntsman. We don't need another princess movie. Disney needs to get on that live action arabian nights
