David Tennant On Potential CBM Roles; Name Drops FANTASTIC FOUR's Reed Richards

In an interview with Collider about his new miniseries Spies Of Warsaw, the former Dr. Who is asked whether he might be interested in playing a superhero. Tennant reckon he might be getting a bit old for a lot of them, but might just fancy playing Mr Fantastic..

David Tennant really doesn't need any more geek-cred after playing (arguably?) the most popular incarnation of The Doctor from the insanely popular BBC series Dr. Who we've had so far, but while chatting to Collider about his upcoming projects he's asked about a potential role in a comic book movie. It seems the Scottish actor is a fan of the villains, but he also mentions a certain Mr Fantastic, Reed Richards.

"I don’t know which ones I would suit, really. I can’t imagine who I could play. I’m a bit old for a lot of them now, which is a terrible, alarming truth. Who could I be? I could probably still do Reed Richards – Mr. Fantastic. I don’t know. Villains are always great. I’d be very happy to do a bit of that. They’re the one growth industry in movies, at the moment, so it would be nice to do one, I suppose, as either the good guy or the bad guy. The bad guys probably get the better lines, don’t they? And they wear less spandex. That would be quite good."

Is it possible Tennant knows that Fox's Fantastic Four reboot is casting at the moment? Or maybe he's just a big fan of the character. Either way, do you guys think he'd make a good Reed Richards? Which villains do you think he might suit? Sound off in the usual place, and check out the interview in full by clicking the link below.

CoulsonLives - 4/4/2013, 5:52 AM

CoulsonLives - 4/4/2013, 5:58 AM
Someone photoshop Tennant as Mr. Fantastic!
jbak368 - 4/4/2013, 6:01 AM
If he can do an American accent he'd be pretty perfect actually. Hopefully someone in the Fox casting department sees this.
MrMartinMarvel - 4/4/2013, 6:01 AM
Oh yeah, I forgot that my worst fears are coming to life. Brace yourselves, The FOXtastic Four are coming! Hey I like that! Alright guys from now on we refer to them as the FOXtasic Four!
ShadowOfTheWeb - 4/4/2013, 6:03 AM
yeah that would be a great casting move!
DocBantam - 4/4/2013, 6:05 AM
Tennant is a seriously good actor - just watching 'Broadchurch' here on Brit tv and he is excellent. And if Ioan Gruffud can do Mr Fantastic ... then Tennant certainly can. Funny i had him dome as a potential Stephen Strange (see 'Fright Night' if you have any doubts!!)
DocBantam - 4/4/2013, 6:06 AM
...that was 'down as a potential stephen strange' btw!! That was weird
Anton - 4/4/2013, 6:07 AM
He could be GREAT Rid Richards.
CoulsonLives - 4/4/2013, 6:07 AM
Anyone wanna photoshop him as Mr. F? I just wanna see what it would look like!
spidey1994 - 4/4/2013, 6:12 AM
Mysterio!!!!!
LMB10 - 4/4/2013, 6:13 AM
Would be a great choice for Reed. Wouldn't make a bad Dr. Strange either.
jessepostal - 4/4/2013, 6:13 AM
He was quite annoying in the Fright Night remake
TheGreenNinja - 4/4/2013, 6:16 AM
Let's see if it's for fox maybe apocalypse, kingpin or venom? And its official the word "epic" is Fn lame and overused.
ElBicho - 4/4/2013, 6:18 AM
He would be brilliant as Dr. Strange or Mr. Fantastic!
plasticman - 4/4/2013, 6:21 AM
I never really liked this character of Mr Fantastic. Sure he can stretch himself out, can't we all? I'd like to see him disguise himself as a lamp if he had to.

Seriously though, I just don't see it, but I really am not as familiar with this guy as is sounds like I should be.
plasticman - 4/4/2013, 6:21 AM
So tell me, Who is this guy? Who?
CoulsonLives - 4/4/2013, 6:24 AM
@Plasticman He's the former "Doctor" from Doctor Who.
BRAD3NGUNN - 4/4/2013, 6:24 AM
Marvel - Daredevil (Don't ask me why), Doctor Strange

DC - Green Lantern, Lex Luthor (Maybe keep the hair though)
LeoAtrox - 4/4/2013, 6:25 AM
Dr. Who for Dr. Strange.
soda9 - 4/4/2013, 6:32 AM
Either Tennant or Anson Mount!
JohnnyKrypton - 4/4/2013, 6:35 AM
I'd be on board for Tenant as Reed or Doc Strange, or anything else that suits him, but Tom Baker is still my favorite Doctor
JayJayCAW - 4/4/2013, 6:36 AM
The Riddler :D
GUNSMITH - 4/4/2013, 6:37 AM
ABSOLUTELY EPIC CHOICE FOR MR FANTASTIC.
soda9 - 4/4/2013, 6:39 AM
Tennant, for a villain, could be the Riddler, maybe even Carnage!
mrHJK - 4/4/2013, 6:45 AM
Wow he'd actually be a great pick
thatiscrazy - 4/4/2013, 7:00 AM
[frick] this movie! Because of FOX There will be no Heralds or mention of Galactus in the GOTG.
KelvTwelve - 4/4/2013, 7:02 AM
Tennant's American accent is terrible, but he'd be great in the part none the less.
ClarkWayne91 - 4/4/2013, 7:06 AM
NOOOOOOOOO!
Alex1397 - 4/4/2013, 7:07 AM
Wouldn't mind him as Reed but needs little work on his American accent.

Ramiel - 4/4/2013, 7:10 AM
Get him in a movie already, Marvel Studios!
Vaportrail - 4/4/2013, 7:13 AM
Y'know, that might actually work.
DalyBear - 4/4/2013, 7:13 AM
David Tennant as Reed Richards is almost too perfect of a casting choice. I'd love to see that happen
Woodkid - 4/4/2013, 7:23 AM
I could see it happening:

InfiniteMonkey - 4/4/2013, 7:26 AM
He would be perfect for Reed, only if Marvel does it.
Any other fool is just any other fool trying to do justice to what only Marvel can do so well.
PsyGuy - 4/4/2013, 7:35 AM
He'd be really good! Hadn't considered him, but I can totally see it!
OrgasmicPotatoe - 4/4/2013, 7:37 AM
Im with Spidey1994. Tennant, wanna play a good villain ? Talk with Sony about Mysterio. I think he'd nail it.
OrgasmicPotatoe - 4/4/2013, 7:38 AM
@Skit nobody said it was a real news. Look at the title. Nothing official, you're making stuff up, dude.
TheDudeRises - 4/4/2013, 7:45 AM
