Tom Hiddleston Reckons THOR: THE DARK WORLD Hits The UK In October

The actor - who plays Loki in the MCU - appeared on the chat show "This Morning" and spoke a little about the upcoming sequel. He didn't really get into any details, but he does reveal that the movie will have a slightly earlier release date in the UK..

Tom Hiddleston was a guest on This Morning...this morning...and spoke a little about his new sex symbol status, as well as his charity work with Unicef. Of course he was also asked briefly about Thor: The Dark World. The actor reiterates that it's going to be a very interesting progression for both his character Loki and his brother Thor, and then reveals that - like a lot of Marvel's movies - the Thor sequel will hit the UK a little earlier than the US, where it's scheduled for a November 8th release. Hidlleston fans (that's all of us right?) will probably want to watch the whole vid, but if you just want the Thor stuff it comes in around the 6:16 mark.

Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

The movie is directed by Alan Taylor and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo & Anthony Hopkins as Odin.

Hiddleston is a legend and a great actor. I bet he's going to go far in Hollywood.
starkresilient - 4/11/2013, 4:40 AM

guywithspoilers - 4/11/2013, 4:45 AM
This is already confirmed - Australia's getting it October 31. It'll be around the same for the UK. We're also getting Cap 2 a day earlier here, but Guardians will be delayed until September in Oz and the UK, while the US gets it on Aug 1 next year.
guywithspoilers - 4/11/2013, 4:46 AM
I've also got a rumour on Cap 2 that I've been holding down for a while now, still not sure what to make of it. Should I let you dudes in on it? Bare in mind, if true, it'll be pretty heavy.
ManOfKrypton - 4/11/2013, 4:52 AM
The UK again... Gone seem to be the day when the US used to get big budget films first. I remember a time when the UK had to wait 4 weeks before a film hit our shore!

We seem to be the first port of call for releasing movies now lol.
darkershadeofme - 4/11/2013, 4:56 AM
Makes sense to release it early in the UK since it was made and is set here..

IMDB has it listed as being released on October 30th..

@starkresilient -

Loki almost took over Asgard, nearly wiped out the Frost Giants from existence, met with Thanos to bring the Midgard to his attention, and began an alien invasion of the Earth. How is this "hardly" doing "nothing"? Name me a DC or Marvel movie villains who's caused more trouble beyond Galactus?
Kaedus - 4/11/2013, 4:59 AM
Don't worry America, you got The Odd Life of Timothy Green before the UK :P
darkershadeofme - 4/11/2013, 5:04 AM

GodzillaKart - 4/11/2013, 6:25 AM
Hiddleston is magnificent as Loki. One of the best CBM villains to date. Hope he plays the character for many movies to come.
KainAndDisabel - 4/11/2013, 6:32 AM
@Tea.. B@stard you are correct lol, but im smiling more, some haircut tho, as this manflu is killing me, well thats the excuse for the tissues!
starkresilient - 4/11/2013, 6:53 AM
@RamonSuarez

lol please he was just a puppet. he had no chance against hulk,thor and iron man. hulk humiliated him. villian my ass tbh. I can never take him seriously after the PUNY GOD thing. He is just a cry baby
RamonSuarez - 4/11/2013, 7:22 AM
@starkresilient

He was only a puppet in that he was going to get Thanos the Cosmic Cube he wanted. Dude still threatened the planet and other worlds unlike most any CBM villain to date.

Besides, if you are going to kill him for not being able to grapple one on one with the Hulk then you might as well drop off 99 percent of all comic book villains.
LucasMend - 4/11/2013, 7:31 AM
Not surprised, every marvel movie hit theaters in the UK and BRAZIL earlier than USA, except captain america movies and TIH, which was worldwide.
KainAndDisabel - 4/11/2013, 7:54 AM
@Tea. . You should change your name to Teabagging then! :-)
On another note, why all the agro towards Loki, great character or is it just the fact that Tom is an english actor, I know some americans are easily intimidated but this is taking the pi$$
@gus, I take it your dating tea's wife as well!
Canon38 - 4/11/2013, 8:06 AM

ThisIsHeavy - 4/11/2013, 8:09 AM
That's all well and good but we have to wait until August for Jurassic Park 3D...
Ocelot - 4/11/2013, 10:52 AM
