TASM 2: Marc Webb Teases 'Patient Zero'

The director has just posted the day #55 Twitter tease from his currently shooting Amazing Spider-Man sequel, and it appears to be an Oscorp diagram for someone (or something) called Patient Zero. The image is that of a spider - could Peter Parker be undergoing tests at Oscorp?

When this hit Twitter, fans immediately jumped to Venom shaped conclusions, but we are pretty sure that character won't be a part of the movie so what's it all about? Well unless the patient IS the spider, it would seem that Oscorp are doing some type of experiments with arachnids (we'll assume of the genetically modified variety) on someone they've dubbed Patient Zero. Could Parker have returned to Oscorp for a superpower to-up? Or does this hearken back to Peter's father's first experiments? Sound off with your thoughts below.

In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
