This was amazingly funny. I'm not taking much solace in Loki being back in Thor. I know this is gonna get me crushed on this site, but IMO Loki just doesn't cut it as a bad guy anymore.

I for one, thought this was hilarious. Even though I'm big fan of The Dark Knight Rises and I also liked Iron Man 3. At lot of what he said was accurate. I myself had wanted to see Mandarin in an Iron Man film since the first movie, but I'm not a big comic geek and I didn't know as much about his lore as some fans might have. My jaw dropped in the theaters during the twist and I was fully aware that Iron Man's greatest villain had just been butchered, but I still found the humor in it. Like someone else said, it is a good movie, but from a loyal comic fan's POV, that was [frick]ed up, and Marvel should be ashamed. @DarkKnight23 I don't think Loki is going to be the villain in Thor 2, I actually think he's going to actually help Thor and try to somewhat redeem himself. And even if that's not completely the case, he still won't be the main villain. Malekith The Accursed is the main antagonist, and Kurse is the secondary one. I have a feeling either Thanos or Surtur will be at least mentioned in this movie as well.

As a movie it's a 4.5 out 5.
HOWEVER . . . as a vehicle for realizing the fulfillment of our latent and very real comic dreams; as a manifestation of our grand expectations . . . .
As a fan of comicbooks for the past 40 years . . . IronMan 3 is a 2 out of 5

well considering aldrich killian was the mandarin the mandarin actually WAS a real character. it's the exact twist from batman begins. or did anyone miss the dragons on his chest?

The twist wasn't THAT bad. It wasn't the worse part of the movie. At least when you compare it to the plot holes, Killian's stupid plan, unnecessary characters, lack of character development, wonky writing, the annoying humour.

The thing about the twist is, up until this movies Marvel Fans were all like "Oooh Marvel Movies are so much better than DC movies because they respect the source material and waaah waaaah waaah" (which was course was always bullshit).

Now their mantra is "Billion dollars. Marvel world. waah waaah waaaaah."

The last two Batman movies made a billion bucks too, and they didn't need to a cinematic universe to do so.
