Mackenzie Gray's Role In MAN OF STEEL Revealed

When the actor announced that he had a secret role in Zack Snyder's reboot, many speculated that he'd be playing Lex Luthor, then a Brainiac rumor popped up, but it turns out he won't be either of them! Click on to find out who Gray will play in Man Of Steel.

The latest character that Gray is rumored to be portraying in Man Of Steel is Jax-Ur -- a rogue Kryptonian scientist who joins up with General Zod. Comicbook.com (via Digital Spy) don't cite a source (aside from "online buzz") so it'd be best not to read too much into it until we have more evidence, but I'd say this is more likely than him playing either Lex or Brainiac myself. Jax-Ur has been depicted in several different ways since his debut in DC comics, and popped up in Smallville as a character called Dax-Ur, creator of Brainiac. Could Snyder and co. have similar plans for him in Man Of Steel? Do you think this will even be the character he'll play? Sound off below.

UPDATE: Thanks to CMBer MrShumway, we now have proof that Gray will indeed be playing Jax-Ur. An image and caption from an official Man Of Steel art book confirmed this bit of news--although we have had to take it down due to a copyright request from the art book publisher.

SuperSam - 5/26/2013, 1:32 PM
I can definitely see him in the role. More so than Lex Luthor anyway.

Who cares, where's the weekly box office wrap? Fast & the Furious 6 has owned the entire weekend with a $98 million horde. Already done $275 million worldwide, that's $27 million more than Star Treks done in two weeks!
ahhmynuts - 5/26/2013, 1:39 PM

Actually, it's a FACT and not a rumour and comicbook.com didn't discover it (they are a bunch of news thiefs actually) it was thanks to a dude who got the MOS art book early and uploaded some photos from it.

Here is the photo that mentions Jax-Ur:

That is 100% all the news is usually sitting on my newsfeed on Facebook. I crack up that they never give credit where credit is due. But hay that is what happens when you are trying to get 1K a month for posting news articles!

Guys, the twist is that Henry Cavill isn't Superman, at the end it is revealed that the ACTUAL Superman is actually played by none other than Michael B Jordan.

Y'know, because we now have a black president

The Man Who Destroyed Krypton!
from Superman #205
LP4 - 5/26/2013, 3:51 PM
@JoeMomma- Damn man I [frick]ing hope that happens. Brainiac HAS to appear in some form in this film.

One thing I am very please with this film though is that they seem to going a great route in terms of introducing VERY obscure characters into the film that have never been in a movie before and that people may not know very much about. Jax-Ur...Faora...Dev-Em...Tor-An...Nam-Ek.

It's very impressive. The Donner films never bothered to explore the obscure Superman characters the way this film is.

So...kudos to Snyder and crew.
