David S. Goyer Confirmed To Write JUSTICE LEAGUE For WB

It seems like those rumors from a while back were true: Along with a very interesting update to Deadline's Man Of Steel sequel story, we (may) have some info straight from Goyer himself while speaking at the movie's premiere.

Along with the news that David S. Goyer would return to work on the script for the Man of Steel sequel, Deadline have now revealed that he's also writing Justice League! "Goyers’ deal is part of a huge 3-picture deal he signed at Warner Bros for Man Of Steel, the sequel, and Justice League with Superman". We reported a rumor that claimed as much a while ago, but there had been no confirmation or debunking, and most of us assumed it was just wishful (or not depending on whether you're a fan) thinking. Also, it seems Kel from Latino Review overheard the writer admit that he's working on the movie at the Man Of Steel premiere:

Of course he may have misheard, but the Deadline info alone would seem to confirm that Goyer is indeed penning WB's Justice League flick. What do you guys think of this news?

I watched the premiere and he never said he would be writing Justice League. He said he wrote for the JSA comic for 4 years, but that was it.
92Marvel - 6/10/2013, 6:44 PM
What a joke putting the avengers on alert sounds like he just trying to start a fanboy war
LordoftheThrones26 - 6/10/2013, 6:46 PM

Put the Avengers on alert? By the time, the JL movie happens, Avengers will be on part 3 making billions of dollars, billions of dollars.

I'm ok with this, but I don't trust Latino Review.
crimsoncrusader - 6/10/2013, 6:54 PM
The putting Avengers on alert was more of a tongue in cheek comment. Goyer was joking.
ManCalledSting - 6/10/2013, 6:54 PM
To me it seems smarter to follow up Man of Steel with a World's Finest, or simply Superman/Batman, and have a semi seasoned Batman reaching out to Superman to show him a larger problem. Then they would team up and solve the problem, and uncover a larger conspiracy leading to Bats showing Supes potential allies at the end. Then in kind of a split post-credit scene show Bats and Supes seperatly reaching out to Themyscira and Atlantis. Then do Justice League, and after that break off alittle into seperate hero movies like Man of Steel 2, Flash, Wonder Woman, and Martian Manhunter
Reasonnnn - 6/10/2013, 6:55 PM
THIS IS NOT A GOOD IDEA.

Look at Goyer's screenplay filmography. Better off just creating the story.

MrCBM56 - 6/10/2013, 7:13 PM
It's good to be a Dc fan right now
Peacefront - 6/10/2013, 7:13 PM
I wonder if Justice League can beat Avengers in the action department. Http://howmuchaction.blogspot.com/ gave Avengers action an 8.8

Smarfi - 6/10/2013, 7:14 PM
I watched the livestream too. When he was asked was JL going ahead he said he couldn't answer. So they asked would he like JL to be made and he said yes, then said that shit about marvel.
HellsHammer - 6/10/2013, 7:16 PM
Almost seems too good to be true right now
113 - 6/10/2013, 7:18 PM
Only if one of the Nolan bros co-writes. Goyer can be really hit-or-miss (just look at Blade Trinity and Ghost Rider 2). Da Vinci's Demon's is good though, I just think he needs the talents of one (or both) of the Nolan's to really make an outstanding superhero film.

If it's Goyer solo I'd be worried.
mctrinket - 6/10/2013, 7:18 PM
Some characters will be left off the team just like in Avengers. Bats, Supes, and WW...and then anything goes.

First review in for MoS: 3/4 stars

http://grouchoreviews.com/reviews/4518
beane2099 - 6/10/2013, 7:23 PM
Whatever they [officially] announce, I'm bout it, bout it. Just seeing the MOS trailers makes me want to see a Justice League movie. I still wouldn't be surprised to find out Timm it's involved.
ThePowerCosmic - 6/10/2013, 7:24 PM
If Darkseid is not in the film I will not watch it! I have been waiting to see him in a film for decades! Hands Down DC's greatest villain!
Humperdink - 6/10/2013, 7:27 PM
This doesn't sound accurate.

Maybe the title of the article should end with a question mark?
Kjo0212 - 6/10/2013, 7:27 PM
I wouldn't mind a jl porn haha jk
113 - 6/10/2013, 7:28 PM
@ThePowerCosmic

Yes, I am sure you won't watch awesome fu.cking movie because Darkseid isn't in it.

Darkseid is my favorite villain too, but I'll see MoS 2 regardless of who the villain is. Hell it could be Toyman and I'd see it.
Smarfi - 6/10/2013, 7:29 PM
What Humperdink said
KnobGoblin - 6/10/2013, 7:32 PM
OrgasmicPotatoe - 6/10/2013, 7:33 PM
I pray to Superman this is true.

And if this is true, all I want to say is this

Fastestmanalive - 6/10/2013, 7:33 PM
Yea like the first comment said, this is false, I actually saw the interview and he never said that, he never said he was writing the JL script.

He said he's not allowed to say anything and that the JL movie depends on the success of MOS like we've been hearing till now.

But he did say he was putting Avengers on alert as a joke when the interviewer said that they gotta strike back at those Marvel guys, nothing wrong with a little friendly competition.
