Someone give Darren Aronofsky a Xbox or PS3. Give him the Batman: Arkham series and ask him to play it. Then show him the entire series of Batman The Animated Series. Then give him Batman books by Loeb, Dini, & Snyder. And he will give you an awesome Batman movie.

This man was meant to direct Batman. It's time to give him his break.

I have read the script for Darren Aronofsky's Batman Year One and I think we need to three it away. Mostly because he wanted to do Year One and he also had Frank write it with him and I'm not saying its bad but you can tell their is some Frank Miller in it which at the time he wrote it was in the downfall of his career. I mean we had Bruce homeless in the beginning, Bruve kicking the shit out of people and I mean graphic shit, Alfred was gone instead we got a car repair guy named Big Al. Not all that great mostly due to having Frank involved I believe. I would give it a 7.

He would do an amazing Hush.

I'd like to see him make a film about Batman's final days and a battle amongst Grayson, Todd, Drake, and maybe Damian. Or a court of owls

Since Darren Aronofsky is a comics fan maybe he can get Dini or Snyder to write a script with him.

That would be epic.

I'm happy with Zack. I don't care what the RT score is, everywhere else I'm seeing positive reviews of MoS. Watchmen got treated the same way and it was still awesome.

Darren directing, Karl Urban as Bruce/Batman. Focus a bit more on his detective skills and you'll have a successful reboot

Aronofsky was in line to direct Batman: Year One before Nolan did Batman Begins. It sounded interesting, and I'd love to see his version made into a graphic novel, but I don't think I'd have liked the film - it involved Bruce becoming homeless after his parents died, a car-mechanic named 'Big Al' who took Bruce in, and when he died his son 'Little Al' becomes Bruce's mentor (so this version of Alfred) and the Batsuit and Batmobile just being things which were thrown together out of car scraps. The first "Batsuit" is a hockey mask, and Bruce carves or writes his father's initials into his first criminals face (T.W) which the police mistake to be a bat.

I like Aronofsky's work, but honestly, I don't want to see him do a superhero movie. He's much better off doing more indie stuff than big-budget studio controlled stuff. If he did do a superhero/comic film, I can't really think of anything mainstream (Marvel/DC) he'd be suited toward, and I don't know much outside of those two companies. Maybe Sandman? His films do have a slightly surreal quality, so that could work.

Man of Steel - rottentomatoes 66%, top critics 56%

Man of Steel had no story, very bad cgi, overused CGI and too much action. It has last 50 min non stopping action.

Aronofsky would've made a quality Superman movie.

@Levi: That's like saying we should ban pretty much everyone here for being fans of Zack Snyder. Have you no idea what an opinion is? Although, Marc Webb isn't as experience as Zack Snyder and has proven he's more of a quality director than Snyder is cause he's capable of doing more than action movies. (500) Days of Summer, anyone? Just saying. He doesn't make movies with no brain to them.

I would love to see his take on Batman as long as Bale is far away from it. This guy is a great director.

Give him a rebooted Xmen while your at it. As long as it's far away from that hack Singer.

I'd love to see him direct a comicbook film. He'd be perfect for a mature and grounded character like the Punisher or Batman (he almost did it). While he's Batman Year One would have taken some liberties, I'd still like to see something like that.
AnonymousGuy
AnonymousGuy - 6/12/2013, 1:11 PM
Darren would make a great Batman AS LONG AS SOMEBODY REIGNS HIM IN. His approach to Year One veered too much from the material, but the tone was good (maybe a little too violent in some parts). It would be nice to have Nolan as executive producer the same way he was with Man of Steel. He's basically the godfather of the DC Cinematic Universe (and I'm just assuming it's going to happen because Man of Steel is going to be a hit).

I bet Aronofsky would at least get Superman right - something Snyder doesn't seem to get based on the reviews which say they turned the most hopeful and idealistic superhero ever into a dark, brooding Batman Begins wannabe.
Guerillas
Guerillas - 6/12/2013, 1:25 PM
Still would like him do batman... Grounded, but not in the style of Nolan. Focus on good fighting choreography, put some layers on the charachters, but of course having the possobility of some supernatural elements, but... in a smart way.
