Latino Review report that Ryan Gosling (Only God Forgives, Drive) and Zac Efron (The Paperboy) are being looked at for roles in Star Wars: Episode VII. The site reckon Gosling would play "Luke's kid", but have no information on which character Efron would play (they assume one of Han Solo/Princess Leia's children). They mention that both actors have "went in" for these roles, so that suggests they've actually read for them and aren't just on Disney's radar. Of course we'll have to take all this as rumor for now, but what do you think of these casting choices? J.J. Abrams will direct the next Star Wars movie with a script from Toy Story 3 scribe Michael Arndt.

DAT GOSLING! Not sure how it would fit schedule-wise since he's directing his first film.

Last time elmayiambe dropped an Abrams scoop, the man himself denied it.
DaenerysTargaryen - 7/24/2013, 3:49 PM
I highly doubt it. This scoop seems like somebody took the "Flavor of the month" actor that fans are obsessed with then tossed in a Disney actor because "Hey Disney owns Star Wars and I bet this rumor will piss fans off". Not buying it...even though Efron does have a bit of a "Skywalkery look"
PaulRom - 7/24/2013, 3:53 PM
@Reasonnnn: Yeah, and look how true that denial turned out to be. KHAAAAAAAAAAAN!
PaulRom - 7/24/2013, 3:54 PM
Both of these are definitely unexpected choices. It'd be hilarious if Efron actually gets in. Gosling would be awesome though.
Reasonnnn - 7/24/2013, 3:55 PM
@PaulRom yup, that's what I'm getting at. :)

LoL, but these are very surprising and unexpected choices. Guess we'll see how this turns out.
IronAsgaardian95 - 7/24/2013, 3:57 PM
I don't really have a problem with this. I mean, Zac Efron isn't really that much of a "disney star" anymore and I think Ryan Gosling would be awesome in Star Wars. I can't be the only one who's open to this...
sanyaya - 7/24/2013, 3:57 PM

Khan

Gosling is dreaming? KHAAAAAAAANNNNN!

Anyways, I can expect Efton to either stop on the middle of a Jedi battle and sing, or go back to being a 17 year old.

I would rather have up and coming actors or unknowns for Star Wars...
sameoldthing - 7/24/2013, 4:17 PM
SCREW THAT... Those ass bags shouldn't be considered for background actors in SW films.
Find some actors with talent who are relatively unknown...that's the only way to go.

CaptainAmerica31 - 7/24/2013, 4:25 PM
Gosling isn't a bad choice he is a hell of an actor
HeadPool420 - 7/24/2013, 4:26 PM
I don't care who they cast as long as the movie has a strong script and Abrams pulls good performances from the cast!
MrNiklander - 7/24/2013, 4:28 PM
NO KEEP BOTH OF THEM AWAY
Facade - 7/24/2013, 4:28 PM
No to both.
Durf - 7/24/2013, 4:31 PM
Ok with Gosling, but [frick] NO TO EFRON! Stay the hell away from Star Wars
KnobGoblin - 7/24/2013, 4:31 PM
Gosling wont do it. He's like Brad Pitt, he doesn't do franchise gigs.
ComicFan1134 - 7/24/2013, 4:32 PM
Gosling...Maybe, Keep Efron The Hell Away!
bonesmcgee - 7/24/2013, 4:35 PM
