Kevin Feige Says Marvel Movie Plans Are Set Right Up To 2021

We know that Marvel Studios have three more projects for 2016 and 2017 to announce, but beyond that? Well, turns out Kevin Feige and co. might just have plans in place for movies all the way up to 2021 -- subject to change of course. Read on for more..

In an interview with Wired.com, Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige reveals that the studio have an idea of their slate of movie projects all the way up to 2021. “I could arguably say what we’re planning for the year 2021,” Feige tells the site. “Will that happen? I don’t know. But what we planned for 2015 in 2006 is happening.” So clearly Marvel had plans for Avengers: Age Of Ultron and Ant-Man as far back as 2006! I'm going to go ahead and say it's a safe bet that at least most of their ideas for future movie will come to fruition. Feige also teases these future films going well beyond the core five characters that make up The Avengers. “Five years ago, looking at our plan, we knew that if Avengers was going to work, the movies had to stand alone. Now we have to prove to the studio that we’re more than just these five characters, these five franchises.” So what will those movies be? Well Doctor Strange and Black Panther are probably a given, with the likes of The Inhumans rumored too. You could probably bank of a third Avengers at some point also, but what else?

Deadpoolwithcomicsans - 8/7/2013, 8:36 AM

This probably the best news I've heard from Marvel. :D

I really do hope they start releasing 3 movies a year.

Long Live the MCU!!!
Deadpoolwithcomicsans - 8/7/2013, 8:42 AM
Which means they could make an X-men movie and it would be the one to release in 2021

Just a possibility
marvel72 - 8/7/2013, 8:43 AM
2021 i expecting another two hulk movies & a daredevil trilogy.
superotherside - 8/7/2013, 8:43 AM

I am glad to hear this but is anyone surprised about this? The thing I'm wondering is weather we'll get Planet Hulk and WWH even though they denied the rumors.

It gets me how gullible the fan boys are though. If they were doing Planet Hulk and WWH would you expect them to admit it?
TheRationalNerd - 8/7/2013, 8:44 AM
Phase 4???
marvelstudios - 8/7/2013, 8:45 AM
@Deapool

How do you know that?
TheRationalNerd - 8/7/2013, 8:47 AM
Luke Cage, Punisher, Daredevil are the other heroes that come to mind. Perhaps they'll dive into the Marvel Knights gallery of heroes?

Then again I honestly think that after Phase 3 is done they will do A World War Hulk film.

What do you guys think?

What other characters could marvel be talking about??
avengers72 - 8/7/2013, 8:51 AM
INHUMANS. nuff said
Deadpoolwithcomicsans - 8/7/2013, 8:51 AM
Because 20 years of making movies and Rights revert
marvelstudios - 8/7/2013, 8:52 AM
Hope your right bro. Would love the X-Men to join the MCU.
ManCalledSting - 8/7/2013, 8:53 AM
Meh......I've lost some interest in Marvel's movies after the lackluster Avengers and Iron Man 3. Hopefully Cap 2 changes that. I liked Thor, but it wasn't great, so that sequel is a meh.
BANEofExistence - 8/7/2013, 8:56 AM
Re casts arnt completly necessary.. Look at the x-men film franchise. 14 years strong and we still have the originals back for Days of Future Past. X-Men and X2 were great (Thanks to Bryan and cast) Origins and X3 were s'''t and The wolverine and first class redeemed the franchise! Days of Future Past will be the "Re-Birth" of the X-Men (And possibly Fantastic Four) shared universe! Marvel has some catching up to do on there own properties :p
Viltrumite - 8/7/2013, 8:57 AM
I remember reading that Joss Whedon had the idea for Avengers: Age of Ultron before he was even officially hired to write/direct The Avengers, so I don't doubt that they've had these long-term plans in place for quite some time.
GoILL - 8/7/2013, 8:58 AM
This is good news to hear. I look forward to the announcements for future films.
ManCalledSting - 8/7/2013, 8:58 AM
I'd like them to make a new Hulk movie, maybe with The Leader talking a down and out Ross into becoming Rulk. Daredevil with Michael H. Hall as well.
Tainted87 - 8/7/2013, 8:59 AM
Well damn. Think we can get a Hellboy movie before then, Levi?
;)
BANEofExistence - 8/7/2013, 9:00 AM
nd Marvel wont get the rights back to x-men in 2021. If Fox (And sony for spiderman) continue to distribute films under those licenses, the rights stay with those studios for so many years... Example being Daredevil. Fox didnt do anything after the first film so the rights slowly reverted back to Marvel, but the "Countdown" reverts to 0 every time an x-men or spiderman or fantastic four films is made. So next year, X-Men and Spiderman rights revert to 0 and in 2015 the Fantastic Four rights revert to 0 and a new countdown begins
jatfly - 8/7/2013, 9:01 AM
ITS NOT TIME YET....BUT I WANT CIVIL WAR STORY LINE FOR AVENGERS 3!!!
SWelch - 8/7/2013, 9:02 AM
I would love to see Marvel reboot Daredevil. And I know this will never happen but I would love to see Ben Affleck direct the reboot.

Yeah I know I'm out of my ever loving mind but still would love to see it.
TheWolverine08 - 8/7/2013, 9:03 AM
Now that's planning! Marvel Studios for the win!
JoJo1982 - 8/7/2013, 9:04 AM
Thats crazy awesome about Marvel studios getting x-men back in 2021. How does Fox have Fantastic 4 and what about how long Sony has Spiderman
brazilianbatman - 8/7/2013, 9:05 AM
if we keep doing 2 movie per year that means we should get 12 mor unnunced movies

Capain America 3
Thor 3
Incredible Hulk 2 and 3
Avengers 3
Antman
Dr. Strange
Black Panther
Daredevil
Heros for Hire
Inhumans

theres one spot that I left because I could not think about which movie could be released. the 12th could another Avengers movie, Thor 4, Captain America 4,SHIELD, Iron Man 4, Blade reboot and etc..

I m not too interested in DR. Strange and I don't know what Inhumans is but they are on my list because im sure we will probably get them by 2021.
CaptShipwreck - 8/7/2013, 9:06 AM
Shut up old Greg , freaking Internet trolls with azzhole opinions
CherryBomb - 8/7/2013, 9:06 AM
If Runaways isn't on that list then I'm very very very disappointed.

Omarvls - 8/7/2013, 9:06 AM
NOVA CORPS
ParisSun - 8/7/2013, 9:07 AM
@Bane is right. I personally don't mind if the X-men are at another studio. I just need to see the actual X-men and not the Gimp suit men or Wolverine and the X-men. I would love to see Wolverine and Spiderman in an Avengers film. But they can stay at the other studios as long as quality stuff is being put out.

MCU has plenty of characters to showcase. I want a Defenders movie, an Inhumans movie and a Hereos for Hire movie. It's also time to bring on Moon Knight, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Ms. Marvel, Nova, Dr. Strange and Black Panther. Let's also see a reboot of Blade, Daredevil and Punisher.
SnapperCarr - 8/7/2013, 9:08 AM
I hate DC and WB so much right now.
92Marvel - 8/7/2013, 9:08 AM
Kevin Feige has already stated at comic con that they were working on some idea for dare devil and I thought that thor tdw looks great. I'm excited to see what they have coming in the future.
TheWolverine08 - 8/7/2013, 9:08 AM
I want a Wolverine movie under Marvel Studios in 2021-2022!
kadetra - 8/7/2013, 9:09 AM
I have a bad feeling people would get tired of superhero movies by then.
brazilianbatman - 8/7/2013, 9:09 AM
I really wish we get something more like Daredevil and Heros for Hire from Marvel. I love vigilantis stories more tan cosmic stuff.

They gotta be smart and release Daredevil in a year without Batman or Spiderman so it doesn't feel like we getting 2 of the same like we did with white house invasion movies this year.
airbeyonder18 - 8/7/2013, 9:10 AM
