This all started with a user on the SHH forums claiming that he had some inside info on The Amazing Spider-Man sequel thanks to a friend close to the production. Among other things, he reckoned a well known actor had a role in the movie that nobody had heard about yet, but said he wouldn't reveal who it was on the forums. Well of course that didn't last too long -- it was Jim Carrey! So far so where's your proof right? Well, we may just have it right here..
As you can see Carrey was actually snapped on set back in March, but it went under our radar until Comicbook.com did some digging. Is this proof that he'll have a role or just a massive coincidence? It definitely lends some credence to the rumor at the very least -- but if he is in the movie, who could he be playing? The most popular theories seem to be Kletus Kassady (who would eventually become Carnage), Mysterio, or J.J. Jameson. What do you guys think? We were a couple of characters short for the Sinister Six after all!
