Although it was rumored to be the case late last night, The Wrap now confirm that Bradley Cooper is in early discussions to voice Rocket Raccoon for Marvel's space-set adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy. According to them "an offer is in place and talks are ongoing, though no deal has been made". Fans were surprised by this development when the rumor fist hit, as -- although Cooper has been a fan favorite choice for a variety of superhero roles -- not many could picture him proving the voice for the gruff, machine-gun toting raccoon. Now that this looks to be official (though the deal may go south of course) what are your thoughts?

Or they could have done the not stupid ass choice and just get the guy who did the voice in Avengers EMH and Marvel VS Capcom 3.

Cooper was on Alias and there was one episode where he pretended to have a British accent. It was decent.

Wow...that would be a waste. I'm not saying he wouldn't do a great job, but if you get Bradley Cooper you get his face on screen as it sells tickets.

Seems like a great length to go. Although they may be taking the approach of: Rocket Racoon is so silly, but if we get a 'Bradley Cooper' playing him, then people will take him seriously.

Fine with this, no one knows better than Gunn who can voice Rocket and definitely worse choices than Cooper. Can imagine him in the role, not particularly liked many of the Rocket voices I've heard before

@Knightrider

It's only a voice, wouldn't be surprised if he does turn up in another role at some stage, assuming DC don't get him first.

@80sFace

Why's Rocket need a British accent? Didn't know he had a determined voice

It's an unexpected, but brilliant choice i think. Not one casting choice in this film has been predictable.

This is interesting...especially since he'll be in a movie(somewhat) with his ex-girlfriend.
