POLL: What Was Your Favorite CBM Of The Summer?

We still have a few smaller comic book and CBM related movies to come (and Thor: The Datk World of course) this year, but all of the big summer blockbusters are finito. Which one did you think stood head and caped shoulders above the rest? Click to cast your vote.

NOTE: Although the likes of Pacific Rim and Elysium etc aren't "pure" comic book based films, we've covered them on CBM so they're included. We also left out R.I.P.D because..well, nobody seems to have seen it!

Pacific Rim
valeriesghost - 8/30/2013, 6:51 AM
Man of Steel. No question.
aztecRaingod - 8/30/2013, 6:54 AM
Meh. No point in a summer poll with thor still coming up.
charlie2094 - 8/30/2013, 6:55 AM
Star Trek into Darkness for me, then Wolverine, followed by Man of Steel. Did not expect Wolverine to be above Man of Steel and Iron Man 3 for me, but really really enjoyed it, solid solo film with a lot of quite brutal (if too brief) action...looking forward to the unrated cut later this year!

Been quite a solid summer
BIGBMH - 8/30/2013, 6:56 AM
Instead of being so loose with the definition of "comic book movies" why don't we vote on our top action blockbusters?
charlie2094 - 8/30/2013, 6:56 AM
@aztec

No point in a SUMMER poll when Thor is coming up? Hate to break it to you, Thor's out in November
TyrantBoss - 8/30/2013, 6:56 AM
They were all crap.

A pure example of movies that had very solid potential, but suffered due to poor, lazy Hollywood Union writing.

They became tired, uninspiring, and empty films.
gambgel - 8/30/2013, 6:58 AM
didnt know Elysum and Pacifim Rim were comics.

In any case, my vote went to Man of steel. But I really liked PacificRim too.
Neek2086 - 8/30/2013, 6:58 AM
It's a bird, it's a plane, ....
aztecRaingod - 8/30/2013, 6:59 AM
Yes Charlie. Allow me to lay it out more clearly.

A Summer poll is pointless when a movie as awesome as Thor is still due to come out. Henceforth, Ror should forego the Summer poll altogether, and come out with a poll AFTER Thor debuts.

Despite the twist ending... Iron Man 3 was fun! Just sayin we gotta be positive here! It wasn't 'TRUE' to the source but I guess it's the logical decision... If we saw the Mandarin and his power rings blowing up sh*t... We would know what happens next... Iron Man saves the day, Pepper is there to comfort Tony, and the Mandarin gets blown up like the villains in power rangers... I've seen that sh*t before... Looking at you Bay-formers...
So yeah... It was a slightly good movie. But I would've liked to see Trevor Slattery blow up though... Would have made it a much better movie! But I guess he might serve a purpose in the future... I would loose it if his jail cell was next to Justin Hammer! XD
RedMosquito - 8/30/2013, 7:00 AM
I saw RIPD! Really liked that movie. Thought the chemistry between the two leads was great and that it was generally a entertaining and humorous movie. Don't know why it tanked. I would have voted for that had it been available, failing that, iron man.
dadisatish - 8/30/2013, 7:00 AM
man of steel tops the charts for yahoo poll....... ............

http://movies.yahoo.com/summer-movies/summer-poll/
RedMosquito - 8/30/2013, 7:01 AM
*an entertaining.....
CoulsonLives - 8/30/2013, 7:02 AM
I still voted for Man of Steel... Just sayin, Iron Man 3 doesn't deserve all of that much hate...
knocturnalzen10 - 8/30/2013, 7:03 AM
is this poll goin off of rotten tomatoes numbers.....................?
CoulsonLives - 8/30/2013, 7:05 AM
@nibs
I just thought it was a good movie... But not the best.
Shara184 - 8/30/2013, 7:06 AM
If I know this site, the neverending pointless war will begin soon.... I'll just vote MOS and leave
fearitself18 - 8/30/2013, 7:06 AM
Oh, you've covered them on the site therefore they are comic book movies? Why didn't you simply say which summer movies was your favourite? Nah, that's too logical.

charlie2094 - 8/30/2013, 7:06 AM
@aztecRaingod

Considering the majority of major blockbusters come out in the SUMMER it's pretty fair to do a summer poll...

Can have more than one poll a year btw, pretty sure, come November/December, there will be an overall 2013, best cbm poll, which Thor can be a part of...

Don't really see the problem...
fearitself18 - 8/30/2013, 7:07 AM
What about Red 2? or 2 Guns, then?
Pending - 8/30/2013, 7:08 AM
Pacific Rim and Kick-Ass 2 for me. Still don't get why Iron Man 3 is so hated, it was still a fun movie.
DoomXfactor - 8/30/2013, 7:08 AM
The Dark Knight Returns and Flashpoint. DCU Animation blew me away this year
Havenless - 8/30/2013, 7:09 AM
@Charlie2094

This is not a summer poll, he simply mistitled it. STID came out in MARCH, ergo I'm waiting for Thor to make my choice.
Mendenhall12 - 8/30/2013, 7:10 AM
MOS!
KNIGHT3000 - 8/30/2013, 7:10 AM
I didn't see ELYSIUM nor TREK... That being said...

6. PACIFIC RIM (I just can't sit through it, and I tried 4 times)
5. LONE RANGER (I actually liked it a lot, most people just didn't get it)
4. IRON MAN 3 (Good, should have been better)
3. WOLVERINE (Solid CBM, just wished the Ninja scene was better)
2. KICK-ASS 2 (Great sequel, last action scene could've been better though)
1. MAN OF STEEL (Definitely the Superman movie we have been waiting for)

Yea, Man of Steel EASILLY...

McNyagano - 8/30/2013, 7:11 AM
MOS the best summer movie??? lol xD

KNIGHT3000 - 8/30/2013, 7:11 AM
Not to hurt any feelings but... I am pretty sure THOR 2 won't compare to MAN OF STEEL... Sorry
Havenless - 8/30/2013, 7:13 AM
@Knight3000

I hope not, because Man of Steel was moderately disappointing.
NeoBaggins - 8/30/2013, 7:14 AM
Bitches, I present to you....

nach1wan - 8/30/2013, 7:15 AM
a couple of those arent even cbm's... what the hell?
KNIGHT3000 - 8/30/2013, 7:16 AM
Havenless

I could say the same about the 1st THOR. Considering the fact that its based on real myth, I expected a LOT more
McNyagano - 8/30/2013, 7:18 AM
@Havenless

"I hope not, because Man of Steel was moderately disappointing."

@Knight3000

Please apply cold water to burnt area because you just got owned by Havenless lol xD
Dmon - 8/30/2013, 7:18 AM
@Havenless Star Trek came out in May after Iron-Man 3 not March.
Havenless - 8/30/2013, 7:19 AM
@knight3000

Go ahead, but I'm talking about Thor 2. New director from Game of Thrones, no origin story necessary, mostly on Asgard, post Avengers box office.

It would be a shock to the system if this movie doesn't dominate 2013.
Havenless - 8/30/2013, 7:20 AM
@Dmon

You're right, I'm wrong. There was a huge mid-March movie I'm confusing it with then....
NeoBaggins - 8/30/2013, 7:20 AM
Does no one see the beauty of THOR?

wcwpoet - 8/30/2013, 7:20 AM
I'd give a slight edge to IM 3 by default in terms of CBM. Besides Elysium & Pacific Rim weren't Comic Books. But if you were saying favorite movie from the summer I'd go

WWZ
World's End
Pacific Rim
IM3
MoS
MightyZeus - 8/30/2013, 7:21 AM
Man of Steel, Pacific Rim, Elysium, Star Trek into Darkness and The Wolverine where all great films.

Iron Man 3 was good but not the best and i was really looking forward to the film.

MightyZeus - 8/30/2013, 7:22 AM
And World War Z was great too. I saw it twice.
