[Sandra] Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky [George Clooney] in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone–tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

Gravity hits theaters October 4th, 2013.

Just reeks of CGI. I know they have to do this with CGI, but it just takes me out of the clip. It all looks too fake. And the human eye can tell when something is fake.

Another reason why the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park were such great CGI. They looked damn real..... and that was 20 YEARS ago.

@TyrantBoss this is Alfonso Cuaron...this guy doesn't make films, he makes masterpieces! Dude was talking @ SDCC on how he shot this film, and it sounded brutal but amazing.

@Reasonnnn - Spielberg shoots masterpieces as well and is the top of the mark....but even Spielberg had his 1941.

This could be Cuaron's 1941.

@TyrantBoss: Comparing this to Jurassic Park is a bit of an apples to oranges comparison. Only 4 minutes of dinosaur footage is entirely CGI out of 14 minutes of total dino screen time (Source: Empire Magazine). Most of those shots were dimly-lit and not all were as realistic looking as your rose-tinted nostalgia goggles may recall -- the spitting Dilophosaurus comes to mind as being a bit puppet-y. As far as I know, Gravity is nearly all CGI with many different lighting angles -- something JP couldn't have pulled off in the computer. Yes, it looks fake -- most SFX does to a certain degree. Part of the trouble is knowing that what you're seeing isn't real. Your brain's already aware that this isn't actually happening. Years of knowing what's behind the curtain will do that to you. You just have to rely on the usage of effects to enhance the story. Gravity might well suffer from too many effects and not enough story, but JP is a bit of a false benchmark.

I think this looks terrible. Two hours of floating through space listening to Sandra Bullock? No thanks.

Is there going to be an actual storyline to make this movie watchable...

Looks like it may get boring pretty quickly...
