We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to hit theaters on May 2, 2014.

Those eyes!!! Those beautiful white eyes!

That suit alone would make TASM2 worth watching. Add to it Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Chris Cooper and Dane Dehaan...

Should be 'Amazing" ;)
TheRebellion - 12/4/2013, 6:00 AM
This costume is hands down the best.

USA Today published a very cool sneak peek on The Amazing Spider-Man. Here are some of the main excerpts:

"I wanted to create something operatic, something huge. And if anything, this film is about the greatest battle Spider-Man's ever had to face," Webb says. "You'll understand and feel the intensity and the overwhelming nature of the obstacles in Spider-Man's path."

And while Parker promised to keep Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) out of his masked lifestyle, he's also "madly, crazily in love with her," says the director. "She plays a crucial, terrifyingly pivotal role in the film."

"Our story deals a lot in choice," Garfield says. "The power that you attain as a human being, it is your choice about what to do with it. And what's great about Spider-Man is he went from having no power, and the idea that absolute power corrupts absolutely, that is an incredibly rich idea to explore."

There are a hell of lot more stuff in the link below:

I'm loving how they are finally realizing people want to see the hero's costume as it was intended. with those glorious big white eyes
IM53 - 12/4/2013, 6:09 AM
The costume does look good and the Spidey Poses and cgi will be good but I fear the story won't be.
JoeMomma29 - 12/4/2013, 6:10 AM
Everyone can crack jokes about the Rhino, Green Goblin, or even Electro, but out of all the DBMS this is the closet we will ever to get to comic book accurate when it comes to costumes.

Yeah Yeah Ironman is pretty close and Hulk does not count either.
BeerForever667 - 12/4/2013, 6:12 AM
I think it looks phat.
subzero1077 - 12/4/2013, 6:15 AM
Most disappointing CBM of 2014. Calling it now.
JDUKE25 - 12/4/2013, 6:16 AM
As of right now the suit is the only thing going for this movie. Everything else is pretty sub par. I'm hoping that changes but idk...
MercwithMouth - 12/4/2013, 6:17 AM
@ Joe

Agreed 100%.

Pulling from Ultimates and 616 universe will work out great, so far I love all the designs. Really wanna see Rhino in HD, to get the full effect of the costume.
BigeBigzWells - 12/4/2013, 6:21 AM
This movie is going to be amazing!
HeadPool420 - 12/4/2013, 6:23 AM
Love the eyes!
TheDemonsHead - 12/4/2013, 6:27 AM
It's weird that I know this movie will be rare but still am not looking foward to it, I'm just excited to see spidey during the day instead of being the dark knight arachnid
HavocPrime - 12/4/2013, 6:32 AM
so much hype, and just for a trailer too.
KrazyForKomix - 12/4/2013, 6:33 AM
I'll give you the Spider-Man costume is nigh on perfect.

And sure, let's wait and see how the movie turns out. Always good advice.
HOWEVER,that promotional poster for ASM2 that we're all talking about, doesn't have any of the villains that we've been reading for years. Not one of them looks ANYTHING like their comic counterpart. If you showed those images to anyone who is a fan of the comic book and ask them which of Spidey's villains they were, no one would be able to identify them. MAYBE some would say that the guy on the glider was a new Hob-Goblin. But that's as close as they'd get. Shouldn't they AT LEAST be recognizable as the character they purport to be?

Two caveats:
1) NO! I absolutely DO NOT mean that Jamie Fox should be decked out in Steve Ditko's original design. Of course compromises for the movie must be made. But Hoodie Man just ain't cuttin' it. It's NOT Electro. It's Emperor Palpitine before he goes far, far, away.

 photo 1523204-against_electro_zps50929e09.jpg

2) Don't bother me with the lamest of all lame arguments, "But he's not the 616 Electro - he's the 1610 Ultimate version."
Huh?
I say again . . . HUH?!?
You mean the Ultimate Universe that's being cancelled? You mean the "ultimate" universe whose sales suck so bad they'll barely satisfy Galactus as an appetizer? THAT 1610 universe? Clearly this was crap because all they're going to die and only (yet ANOTHER) Spider-Man, Miles Morales, will survive.

I only hope that the bad-non-costumes won't be so distracting that the movie suffers. But even if it's a great film - it'll be a great film of Spider-Man fighting three unrecognizable evil doers.
CoulsonLives - 12/4/2013, 6:33 AM
I thought we got rid of the TASM haters.... Guess not.
ManCalledSting - 12/4/2013, 6:34 AM
I'm loving the suit, and the designs of Electro, Harry as a mutated Goblin I assume, and the Rhino are great too. This and Days of Future Past are my most anticipated movies next year.
TheDemonsHead - 12/4/2013, 6:37 AM
By the way that crane scene in TASM 1 Is almost unbearable hahaha I still don't see why they were necessary at all, like since when did Spider-Man need to ......... Can someone help me?!?

Ugh and the American flag over the construction worker was so corny I just threw up a little

If none of that bullshit is in this film it will be great lol

HIS SHOT LEG COULDN'T ALLOW HIM TO NOT USE HIS LEGS IN SWINGING OFF BUILDINGS BUT WAS AOK WHEN BATTLING THE LIZARD.

AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON HIM LITERALLY HAVING HIS MASK OFF FOR THE THE MAJORITY OF PETER AS SPIDER-MAN

I'm truly sorry but I had to let that out, I'm still hoping the sequel will be good
ManCalledSting - 12/4/2013, 6:40 AM
The problem with characters like Green Goblin, is the costume is too silly for live action. I love GG's comic suit, but on screen I think it would look extremely out of place, so they are altering the look, and going with a genetically altered Harry it would seem. I've always been a fan of Elseworlds and What ifs, because they allowed for alternate costume designs, and different versions of classic characters, so this works for me.
CoulsonLives - 12/4/2013, 6:41 AM
@TheDemonsHead
Spider-Man needs not only himself... But the people around him to accomplish things. Watch the commentary :P
ManCalledSting - 12/4/2013, 6:43 AM
Actually, an injury to your leg would hinder you ability to not only swing properly, but also the ability to get a good take off, so the crane scene made sense. It also showed the city getting behind Spiderman as a hero.
ManCalledSting - 12/4/2013, 6:44 AM
Try swinging on a swingset with a broken leg, or with no leg use at all, if you don't believe me.
CoulsonLives - 12/4/2013, 6:48 AM
I agree with oldgreg... Spidey's villains have the most silliest costumes in comics! So making them badass takes a lot of alteration to the design.
Lem1 - 12/4/2013, 6:51 AM
@KrazyForKomix -Dudebro, I totally get what yer saying. But the dude/thing to the left actually looks like a rampaging robotic RHINOCERUS, and the dude in the Hoodie has LIGHTNING coming outta him, so it's kinda obvious who these are. I was surprized to see Rhino depicted on all fours, mind you. From production stills it's obvious the Rhino suit receded to show you Alexei's face at least. Maybe he can walk on his 'hind legs'? Don't really care myself, 'cause he's still gonna pose the very same kinda threat as he does in the comics.
As for Electro, I'm sure you MUST've seen the images of him in an actual powers-accommodating suit that's more reminiscent of the Ultimate Spidey comics. You don't really think that hoodie'll last long on him while he's shooting piping-hot electrical bolts out of himself, do you? This poster's just a tease, a good one, in my sense, but on the other hand.....it'd have been SUPER cool to make things resemble comic book looks as well.
jlabatman - 12/4/2013, 6:52 AM
At least the costume looks good. Damn shame Emma's got to be killed though!
ManCalledSting - 12/4/2013, 6:53 AM
Don't add to my comment please, then people will think I agree with you. Spiderman's villains aren't the goofiest looking. No, for me that'd be The Flash.
KrazyForKomix - 12/4/2013, 6:53 AM
Not a ASM hater. I enjoyed most of that movie (not all of though). It was not a perfect film. It could have been much better. I don't think that qualifies me as a childishly defined "hater."

AGAIN . . . I say I'm NOT asking for a stitch by stitch recreation of the comic book uniform/costumes that Ditko gave us. There HAVE to be differences between the comic and the film.
Duh-uh!
But they should at least BE costumes. A hoodie and jeans? REALLY? Wow - what imagination! That must have taken them all night! Those poor, overworked designers.
And the Billy Idol get up isn't any better. Awesome! He put on a leather jacket. That'll strike fear into the citizenry.
User1134 - 12/4/2013, 6:55 AM
Ads, The Biggest Supervillain Of Them All...
MercwithMouth - 12/4/2013, 6:57 AM
I can't believe I'm going to agree with OldGreg...

So far, for me, everything about this movie screams greatness. The costume designs all around, the casting, that Viral site is awesome, and has thrown in so many nods to Spidey fans. The beginning of the Sinister Six! The classic Spiderman humour will be even MORE prevalent, What more could a webhead want?

This movie is starting to become my most anticipated CBM ever! They are blowing me away with every tidbit of info we get.
Lem1 - 12/4/2013, 6:59 AM
You really haven't seen the suit they give Electro in this film??? -I'm not talking about the hoodie, man; it's CLEAR he only grabbed this here look to be inconspicuous (Via Production stills) as he escapes Oscorp. I guarantee you his 'hoodie and jeans' don't last very long on screen. He has an ACTUAL costume. Or am I speaking into the wind, here, bro?
jlabatman - 12/4/2013, 7:01 AM
3-He gives good head!
