Some of you CBMers feel 2013 wasn't a particularly good year for our beloved comic book films, and obviously in terms of overall quality that's a debate worth having...but one thing is for sure, they certainly made quite a bit of coin! The Times has released a list of the top 10 highest grossing films of 2013, and with a whopping $1,215,439,994 worldwide box office gross, Iron Man 3 takes the top spot. The rest of the list is, predictably enough, made up of big budget sci-fi/action movies and animated adventures. At 2 there's Despicable Me 2, 3) The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, 4) Man of Steel, 5) Monsters University, 6) Gravity, 7) Fast & Furious 6, 8) Oz the Great and Powerful, 9) Star Trek Into Darkness and at 10 we have World War Z.

NOTE: Although Iron Man 3 is sure to be safe at the top, the likes of Thor: The Dark World and The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug will likely impact this list in some way come December 31st, so we'll have an update around then.
