NOAH is a close adaptation of the Biblical story of Noah’s Ark. In a world ravaged by human sin, Noah is given a divine mission: to build an Ark to save creation from the coming flood. The screenplay was written by Darren Aronofsky and Ari Handel and revised by Academy Award®-nominated screenwriter John Logan (GLADIATOR, HUGO). Scott Franklin and Aronofsky of Protozoa Pictures, along with Mary Parent of Disruption Entertainment, will produce the film. The film will be executive produced by Ari Handel (BLACK SWAN), Arnon Milchan of New Regency and Chris Brigham (INCEPTION, ARGO).

Noah is directed by Darren Aronofsky, and stars Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Ray Winstone, Logan Lerman, Douglas Booth and Anthony Hopkins. It hits theaters March 28th, 2014.

Eh, another disaster movie.

Count me out.
Mendenhall12 - 1/29/2014, 4:55 PM
I pray they have stayed true the story.
Tony93 - 1/29/2014, 4:56 PM
agreed^
Pedrito - 1/29/2014, 4:56 PM
Only thing I see going for this movie is Aronofsky's name.
Emma Watson looks like a young boy. Which is cool if that's your kind of thing. Not gonna judge. I kinda dig it actually.

insults toward ms. stone will not be tolerated and will be met with befitting disciplinary action
CrimsonFlash - 1/29/2014, 5:12 PM
I just, I just don't care
MCU4TheWin - 1/29/2014, 5:24 PM
So we're agreed then, the bible is a comic book right? Thank G... anyone.
TheYoungMan - 1/29/2014, 5:27 PM
@CrimsonFlash Funny, when I don't care about something, I just don't comment. You didn't see me on the "Thor 3 gets a writer" article did you?
GhostBoy - 1/29/2014, 5:29 PM
March 28? The movie is coming out March 28?

There has been barely any marketing for this movie and they are expecting people to show up to see this. I think not.
Humby - 1/29/2014, 5:32 PM
Between Crowe, Hopkins, Emma Watson, and a household story that everyone knows, you would expect this movie to do quite well...

But for some reason, I think this might bomb.
Greengo - 1/29/2014, 5:45 PM
Looks good to me!

So far anyway...
Greengo - 1/29/2014, 5:46 PM
I said that about Pacific Rim too.

Smh.
Humperdink - 1/29/2014, 5:47 PM
I pray they have stayed true the story.

From the trailer and the cast, to the various Australian and British/Cockney sounding accents that really don't belong, I'd say they've already taken liberties.

This TV spot says it's the 'untold story'.
Nuff said?

I don't care about this movie but I'll basically watch anything Emma Watson is in.
JorL5150 - 1/29/2014, 6:07 PM
To be fair, the biblical version is vey vague and skims over a lot of narrative, as well as having two distinct versions of the story so if aranofsky looked to the book of Enoch to flesh of the story then i think maybe might hold off on pouring lighter fluid on the heresy stake until we see the movie
JorL5150 - 1/29/2014, 6:12 PM
Since we can only speculate about what the preSumerian language and even if we did we'd have to have subtitles anyway so I really don't care what the accents are as it's a dramatization
PsychoManiacJacky - 1/29/2014, 6:14 PM
I came here for the religious debates! Come on guys this is boring.
MrMartinMarvel - 1/29/2014, 6:15 PM
Jacky's right, somebody start something!
JorL5150 - 1/29/2014, 6:19 PM
"What the language sounded like"
JorL5150 - 1/29/2014, 6:20 PM
If the universe is created then who created the creator?
JorL5150 - 1/29/2014, 6:22 PM
Will russel Noah Crowe ever call god Yahweh or Jehovah or Elohim or Anu?
JorL5150 - 1/29/2014, 6:24 PM
Did the pheonicians ever sail to the Western Hemisphere and leave artifacts in eastern North America ?
JorL5150 - 1/29/2014, 6:26 PM
" close adaptation" of what?
The Noah section of genesis?
The book of Enoch ?
Aranofskys novel?
The saccharine Sunday school version?

What's the version that it needs to be close to ?
JorL5150 - 1/29/2014, 6:28 PM
@aereo

We were asked for debate
I'm trying to help
JorL5150 - 1/29/2014, 6:31 PM
Seriously - I want to see nephelim hybrid monster creatures or ill be disappointed
MCU4TheWin - 1/29/2014, 6:35 PM
Umm, the true story? Much like Spiderman, Batman, a white Jesus and dinosaurs, Noah is fictitious story. It's like saying Rudolf has a red nose because he got herpes from smelling Mrs. Clause's panties too closely.
DrunkenPirateNukem - 1/29/2014, 6:39 PM
then who created who created the creator???
DrunkenPirateNukem - 1/29/2014, 6:41 PM
if there is a creator....

JorL5150 - 1/29/2014, 7:00 PM
No, I'm serious , ok, usually I'm a goof and not serious, but now I'm serious

The bible has 2 versions of the story and all it is is :
Noah builds a boat for 40 years
The world is bad , lots of awful people
There are "giants" And everyone is basically used to it
It rAins, people die
The ark rests on a mountain and Noah gets drunk

It's a plot but not a narrative not a script

Where did the giants come from? Why? Where did the fallen come from?
What does nephelim even mean ? The bible is very cagey on this
The book of Enoch elaborates a lot
MCU4TheWin - 1/29/2014, 7:10 PM
lol someone's panties are all in bunch. Don't get the herpes, they keep coming back to bite ya.
MCU4TheWin - 1/29/2014, 7:17 PM
Dude you know religion is just a way to explain what was at one time unexplainable and a way for the GOP to wrangle up the masses to follow them.
CapFan79 - 1/29/2014, 7:20 PM
@MCU4 [frick] off! If religion is for the GOP explain Muslims. Dickhead.
MCU4TheWin - 1/29/2014, 7:20 PM
And those were two pretty funny F'n jokes. Lighten up. If you want to have "A theological/philosophical debate" get out of your mother's basement.
JorL5150 - 1/29/2014, 7:22 PM
I hit the link but the format was all wonky and illegible
MCU4TheWin - 1/29/2014, 7:22 PM
They're the same as the GOP. Just from another view point. Essentially they are both trying to do the same thing.
CapFan79 - 1/29/2014, 7:27 PM
Most Jews on this country are democrats. This is a tale from the Old Testament and the Torah. Politics has nothing to do with this.
MCU4TheWin - 1/29/2014, 7:27 PM
It's like the Seahawks are the GOP with their plan of defence. Buy gun's and be prepared. Muslims are The Broncos with offence is the way to win. In the end they both want the same thing, control and power. And rallying their flock with religion is how they justify what they do.
Godzillafart - 1/29/2014, 7:28 PM
@TheYoungMan: Ha! You just couldn't help but comment on the Thor 3 writer news! It's OK. I commented on it too. :)
