BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN ...VS. CAPTAIN AMERICA! Where Do You Stand?

Of course it's likely someone will cave and move release dates eventually, and obviously even if the movies did go head to head they'd both still do great BO -- but for the purposes of this poll, let us know who you think would come out on top

Last night we found out that Marvel plan to release their third Captain America movie on May 6, 2016. This just so happens to be the current release date for Warner Bros. hugely anticipated sequel to Man Of Steel, which will feature the unprecedented combo of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman (among others).

It's definitely a bold move by Marvel considering what they'd be up against, but as Forbes' Scott Mendelson rightly points out, they don't actually have to "win" this battle -- it's DC/WB with everything to lose. Even if Batman VS. Superman triumphs in Box Office takings (which it probably would), all Marvel has to do is put a small dent in those takings to ultimately come out on top. They have numerous other releases on their slate, whereas Warner Bros. are banking everything on this team-up flick to successfully solidify their shared DC movie universe. If WB don't rake in enough coin, it could well jeopardize those plans.

Then again, Marvel are so used to being the big boys in the playground that I don't think voluntarily taking a hit on one of their movies -- even if that means hurting Zack Snyder's sequel in the process -- would sit very well with them at the end of the day.

Of course it's all theoretical, and I'm willing to bet it will be Warner Bros. that moves, but lets say they do end up going toe-toe-toe..who's your money on?

Brainiac13 - 3/14/2014, 10:11 AM

Blanka1212 - 3/14/2014, 10:13 AM
Pasto- according to Brazil. I don't even ship things on Ebay to Brazil. That's how little I trust that source.
xaiyasak - 3/14/2014, 10:13 AM
why is this in the news section
cipher - 3/14/2014, 10:14 AM
Don't know. Depends on whether I see some f*ckin' studio money or not.
Joementum - 3/14/2014, 10:14 AM
CAP if it goes like this.

Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver rebel against VonStrucker in A2.

They join Cap and Hawkeye(who deserves more screen time)in a special mission.

What mission?
Don't care just want this:
marvelstudios - 3/14/2014, 10:15 AM
Both are losers. I'm definitely watching both. But MCU comes first. Hopefully one of them moves 2 weeks apart.
BlackIceJoe - 3/14/2014, 10:15 AM
I will say Batman/Superman: Worlds Finest makes more money. The reason why is because having Batman and Superman fight together has never been done before in live action. I believe Captain America will also do very well but because of the hype of B/S:WF that movie will make more money. The great thing about this is fans win in the end. Because we get to see two awesome movies.
ALegendaryPanda - 3/14/2014, 10:18 AM
Yay more flame wars -__-
Brainiac13 - 3/14/2014, 10:18 AM
I'm 60/40 DC......so its BvS 1st then the following week its Marvel.
Fanmar16 - 3/14/2014, 10:18 AM
that with this stupidity of vs., Marvel not moved anything I had planned

The DC boys are desperate for a win
Nomis - 3/14/2014, 10:19 AM
I love CAP...I really really Do (3rd Favorite comic book hero)... But A Batman/Superman movie will Clean his clock!!!!

Hell, A Batman movie ALONE would beat out a Cap movie. Especially one that's 3rd in a series of movies.
sKeemAn - 3/14/2014, 10:19 AM
BvsS will ultimately make more money in the end. But Cap3 will take out a nice chunk. If Wb/Dc moves their date giving at least 3 weeks in between, they can keep that moeny rolling in a little longer. Its better for the studios to have them apart. I don't care I'm seeing both at least twice.
l0rdleg0las - 3/14/2014, 10:21 AM
I stand with Marvel. Not because of bias because I love all 3 characters associated with that day, but because they were there first. They announced last June of that release date.
O5L1N - 3/14/2014, 10:21 AM
@Gusto
You're making a strong case for Marvel right there. I've seen Cap 2 and anything is possible. The DC execs must have seen it too which is why they chose to move their release date. I think two heroes against one is a little unfair but I don't trust Snyder. I can't believe I'm going to say this but the Russos are more talented when it comes to story telling.
pickleweasel2 - 3/14/2014, 10:21 AM
Hopefully there are like ten more threads about this.... Because we don't have enough already
batz11 - 3/14/2014, 10:25 AM
Gus, I'm learning to not like you...
l0rdleg0las - 3/14/2014, 10:25 AM
@Gusto

Goddamn dude. Would you please stop with pictures of that mutant Mikey Cyrus?

I'd rather get the Alex DeLarge treatment of my eyes held open watching that masturbating rat on loop for a month than see anymore of the nasty mutant.
stoptheworld - 3/14/2014, 10:25 AM
Wonder Woman! :3
adagio33 - 3/14/2014, 10:25 AM
i stand with marvel and don't trust in Snyder or Affleck, so F&*k U snyder and f&*k you affleck!!!!
GodzillaKart - 3/14/2014, 10:26 AM
DC will move. They have to. They have everything to lose.
sintzu - 3/14/2014, 10:26 AM
batman/superman will make more however not as much as it could if it wasen't coming out the same day as cap 3
soforizo - 3/14/2014, 10:26 AM
Come on RoR! Don't start sinking to Josh's level.

Most site visitors, if not all, will be watching both.

DrunkenNukem - 3/14/2014, 10:27 AM
I thought this was other thing..like a fight between batman vs superman vs cap...

But surprise surprise...another bait for folks that like YET another DC vs Marvel thread to get more comments..

MrReese - 3/14/2014, 10:27 AM
Gonna go with my boys Bats & Supes.
KnobGoblin - 3/14/2014, 10:27 AM
I'll go see both, should be a great weekend.
AlexanderLykins - 3/14/2014, 10:27 AM
Batman vs. Superman premiere and then Captain America 3 that Friday evening. I got money to blow! Why limit yourself to one? This is America!
CherryBomb - 3/14/2014, 10:28 AM
I love Captain America but I've been waiting for Batman/Superman for so freaking long. Sorry Cap!
GodzillaKart - 3/14/2014, 10:28 AM
Whhhhaaaaaaa? Gusto trolling?! I never thought I would see the day. You should be ashamed!

HughJasol - 3/14/2014, 10:29 AM
Come on! No contest here. Batman/Superman all day. It's freaking Batman and Superman in one movie (oh yeah and Wonder Woman too) for the first time in live action. Captain America while good, is been there done that.
Irvin88 - 3/14/2014, 10:29 AM
I agree with @AlexanderLykins. Why be fanboys when we can like both Marvel and DC. This is a time to rejoice people! Who knew we would live in the age of the Geeks?!
GeekyCheekyChic - 3/14/2014, 10:29 AM
First off- Feige has big brass balls...he isn't moving and since he publicly said it then he can't move or he'll lose face.
Secondly- RUMORED DC/WB is moving
Lastly- SPEND 30 dollars SEE THEM BOTH! Hell its Batman/Superman- that alone will be at least 5-8 viewings and Cap 3 if he really does have teammates in the form of HULK(rumored) and/or Black Panther-- that's good for 5 viewings.
Welcome to Nerd-Vana
EdgyOutsider - 3/14/2014, 10:30 AM
Batman vs Superman will with the box office. But, Cap is my favorite Avenger, he has the best solo movie into opinion so far, The Winter Soldier looks fantastic plus, I want quality which is what I'll get with Cap 3.
CherryBomb - 3/14/2014, 10:30 AM
I have no clear alliance to either Marvel/Disney or DC/WB why can't people like and appreciate both? And equally, see the criticism and flaws that both studios have?
EdgyOutsider - 3/14/2014, 10:32 AM
I personally will wait until BVS hits the web or DVD unless a friend drags me to see it. Man of Steel was underwhelming and left me no desire to see the sequel.
GodzillaKart - 3/14/2014, 10:32 AM
DC will have to move. If they come out on the same day, it will hurt both BO. Marvel does not have a lot riding on the numbers for CA3. DC has EVERYTHING riding on the success of BvS.

DC will move.
nighteagle - 3/14/2014, 10:33 AM
awesome, lets post an article to further the :choose a side and bash the other" war . why the frick do we need to choose a side. we both fricken know we're going to go see both movies. doesn't matter when we are or which one we see first. who cares. its stupid articles like these that continue to bring this site down one flame war at a time...
cipher - 3/14/2014, 10:33 AM
I have no clear alliance, either. Call it bartender neutrality.
