The Team Face THE Lie Detector In A Clip From The Next AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

Can they knock it off with the forced Avengers references already?
Growup - 4/17/2014, 11:06 AM
Dark Ward will beat this machine or he will cheat
JacuzziJoe - 4/17/2014, 11:11 AM
third!
JacuzziJoe - 4/17/2014, 11:12 AM
Dark Ward > Light Ward
Ineedrevelation - 4/17/2014, 11:13 AM
And it just turned lame again.
GliderMan - 4/17/2014, 11:15 AM
If they're gonna reference her SAY [frick]ING BLACK WIDOW!! THEY DIDNT EVEN SAY BLACK WIDOW IN THE WINTER SOLDIER!! UGH!!!

They should've made May HYDRA instead of Ward.
Pasto - 4/17/2014, 11:15 AM
Kill his ass.
patrat18 - 4/17/2014, 11:16 AM
Uh..............
NoAssemblyReqd - 4/17/2014, 11:17 AM
I don't think Black Widow has ever been called by that name in the MCU, except in THE AVENGERS, spoken in Russian in that warehouse scene.
CommanderShepard - 4/17/2014, 11:19 AM
@GliderMan, they dont call her Black Widow in the MCU. I can only remember Hawkeye only being called "Clint" as well.
Kyos - 4/17/2014, 11:20 AM
Villain Ward is sooo much better than good guy Ward. It's actually fun to realize that his rather bland Ward persona so far was actually a role he played to deceive the team. I like it!
NoPhucksGiven - 4/17/2014, 11:21 AM
Ward has [frick]ed damn near every bitch on the show. Do you ward I aint even mad.
redlion - 4/17/2014, 11:21 AM
I actually don't mind the Black Widow reference any more so than the Fury mention. Widow was an official agent of SHIELD before she was an Avenger and she was a top agent at that with the scores to prove it. It's understandable that every other agent after her would be compared. I consider it more of a SHIELD reference than anything else.
JacuzziJoe - 4/17/2014, 11:21 AM
They called him "The Hawk" in the opening scene to The Avengers.
CommanderShepard - 4/17/2014, 11:21 AM
The to soldiers trying to stop Ward and Garrett from entering the SHIELD base in the last episode were lame. Poor writing and acting there.
swindler1985 - 4/17/2014, 11:22 AM
@GliderMan and @NoAssemblyReqd, some Hydra lackey on a radio tells Rumlow that "Black Widow" is in the World Security Council meeting room in TWS, so she has been referred to as that in the MCU.
GodzillaKart - 4/17/2014, 11:23 AM
Damn, that show got good.
CommanderShepard - 4/17/2014, 11:23 AM
@Kyos, I do like Ward as a villain. I will be disappointed if they make him good again.
Pasto - 4/17/2014, 11:23 AM
Anyone want a sausage?
Tymminator - 4/17/2014, 11:23 AM
This show is great.
StarkAnthony - 4/17/2014, 11:24 AM
They did call her Black Widow in TWS, I think Rumlow said it towards the end when he was trying to get to Pierce
JacuzziJoe - 4/17/2014, 11:25 AM
Also, I'm liking the fleshing out of the villains in this show more and more. I love Arrow, but Rochev still needs a bit of work, and Brother Blood...I barely get why he does anything he does. Solomon Grundy is in the works, but he was barely utilized as a character other than a hunk of meat. Bronze Tiger is about as fleshed out as Sabretooth in the first X-Men movie. Deadshot and The Clock King were done well, and obviously Slade, but it shouldn't take two seasons to develop a villain. I'm loving the differences between Garrett, Ward, Raina, and Deathlok. Putting a dynamic to that "team".
0megaDaGod - 4/17/2014, 11:27 AM
Also, Black Widow yells "Hawkeye" while being chased by Loki during the scene where she's flying the Chitauri overboard in Avengers
0megaDaGod - 4/17/2014, 11:29 AM
I'm cool with Ward being a villain

I am NOT cool with them abandoning the double agent plot device and outting him as a villain so quickly. That should be something that builds up over the course of a couple episodes and the reveal should happen in the finale. That is, unless they have something truly bananas in store for the finale which completely trumps it
Pasto - 4/17/2014, 11:31 AM
Imagine if Ward was Struckers son?
JacuzziJoe - 4/17/2014, 11:31 AM
I think Ward holds allegiance to Garrett, not HYDRA. That conflicts with his feelings for Skye. Everything else on either side is just business.
ElDarkside - 4/17/2014, 11:34 AM
Wow you guys are so petty sometimes (and by sometimes I mean all the time) with your critiques. This is NOT A MOVIE PEOPLE!!!!

If you expect movie quality action, sfx, writing, then you all will be disappointed every time you watch the show, which I guess is everyone who complains on this thread, all the damn time!!!

I actually thought it was clever how they got into the fridge, although the guards were dumb. Not every agent is as good as romanoff. And yeah they didn't mention black widow in this episode.

I happen to love that coulson had a sort of breakdown in this episode and everyone though he was going haywire. It creates a dynamic where his team must trust him even if they don't trust shield right now.

And hell yeah Dark Ward kicks ass!!! FYI - the actor did not know about his flip to hydra until about half way through the season so he just though he was part of the team all along. That was good writing.... Since you're all bashing the writing all the time I thought I should give them a little credit for making us all believe that ward was a good guy thru and thru
RorMachine - 4/17/2014, 11:34 AM
Yeah she's called Black Widow over the radio near the end. As for the references...so what! Is it a big deal when Banner and Iron Man are referenced in The Winter Soldier? No..it's awesome right? But on a Marvel tv show set in the same universe it sucks? Fanboy logic alludes me yet again.
RetroFit - 4/17/2014, 11:36 AM
I want Ward to be Taskmaster. That would finally make this show interesting for me.

ElDarkside - 4/17/2014, 11:37 AM
*they just said romanoff. A reference to a shield agent. Not an avengers reference...
0megaDaGod - 4/17/2014, 11:38 AM
Also, unless the earlier report about Pazston joining the show was inaccurate or his contract was amended, this should be the forth and final episode featuring Agent Garrett

Something to keep an eye on
Mastyrwerk - 4/17/2014, 11:38 AM
This show is so awesome! I can't wait till the end of the season so I can rewatch it over the summer. So many twists and turns! It's better than I could have imagined!
maninfinesuit - 4/17/2014, 11:40 AM
And coming episode after next, watch the struggles of the team unfold as Skye and May attempt to figure out how to operate Fury's coffee maker.

JacuzziJoe - 4/17/2014, 11:41 AM
@omegadagod

They had said for at least four episodes, and it was the same for Triplett. I thought of that too, but we'll see.
MrMartinMarvel - 4/17/2014, 11:42 AM
@Ror I wouldn't have a problem with the references if they didn't sound so forced and unnatural. I dunno, to me it sounds like they throw them in just to remind people this show takes place in the MCU.
RetroFit - 4/17/2014, 11:47 AM
If Ward was Taskmaster that would make him neither a Hydra double agent or a SHIELD traitor. Just a merc working for Fury whose using his past relationship with Garrett to get close to Hydra.
MercwithMouth - 4/17/2014, 11:47 AM
@0mega

I think this will actually be the 5th episode for Paxton. He appeared in T.A.H.I.T.I., End of the Beginning, Turn Turn Turn, and Providence. But from a quick IMDb check, he's not listed for any of the next 3 episodes...
0megaDaGod - 4/17/2014, 11:51 AM
@Merc

Oh yea, LOL

Can't believe how phucked up my math was on that one. I guess he'll be around for awhile and hopefully will pop up next season
mctrinket - 4/17/2014, 11:54 AM
Garret is Ward's older brother who saved him when he was in the well.
Nomis - 4/17/2014, 11:55 AM
"Dark Ward"...I Like it!
